We came to Chucos La Restaurant around 7pm, and it's definitely a hidden gem--tucked all the way in the back, but so worth finding. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which was nice. The food was delicious! I tried the garnachas and the atol--both were so flavorful and authentic. My husband ordered the shuco and finished the whole thing, which says a lot. Now to the food I ordered 2 pupusas which were Guatemalan Style they were a bit on the dry side pretty flat and they lacked the main ingredients like the cheese hardly any it was practically all maza especially the revuelta pupusa again practically all maza hardly any chicharon, beans or cheese. My wife tell me there's a great Salvadoran restaurant near our house and their pupusas is only a $1 couldn't believe just a buck. And maybe it was partially my fault - but I ordered on Yelp (Grubhub) before ever calling in on a holiday... the Yelp hours of operation said that the restaurant was open and I even got a confirmation that my order was being worked on. Then I got the notice that my food was ready for pickup. When I got there, the place was closed. Fortunately Grubhub gave me a refund - it took three days, but I got my money back.
