    Huancaina pasta really dry
    Jairo R.

The food was bad, sadly the meat feels old and the pasta a la huancaina was dry! the service was good we left most of the food for 2 was $64 no bad but with something eatable was a waste! as a cook we know when something is old or bad any cook should send food like that you guys lose customers i never going back there... ambience is ok only a few tables that's it! Ps: the chicken was deep fry without any sesoning!

Raw chicken on my pollo saltado

Was craving Peruvian food. This location popped up near work. Went and it had its cliental. The man at the register stated they ran out of beef that chicken plates were available. I decided to get a pollo saltado since my go to plate is lomo saltado at all Peruvian restaurants. Waited about 30 minutes for my food. Place was understaffed, music was loud. Finally got my Togo order arrived to work to eat it and to my surprise a raw piece of chicken on my rice! RAW chicken just on top of the rice. There goes my lunch and no time to go get food elsewhere

    Silly drawing with the specials

Always a great eating experience! Authentic food choices and awesome customer service!

This is as close to Peru as you can get in LA. The aguadito de pollo sent me into a ratatouille style flashback of my grandmother beating me with a vine of the pica pica plant. The fresh and crispy roll was complemented by the spicy aji verde. the lomo saltado was elegantly presented and mouthwatering delicious. The space is welcoming and the service is friendly. Will be coming back for more.

This place has a huge variety of Peruvian snacks/ treats + great food. The service was 10/10, our server was very friendly and attentive to our table. It's a casual sit in or take out location. Right when you walk in, you get to experience a bit of what Peru is about. The complementary soup and bread was delicious. I ordered the ceviche de camarón which was my first time trying it and I highly recommend. And my husband ordered the lomo saltado which is a must try as well! The plantains were so soft and fresh. The lemon pie was sweet & tangy, 8/10. And the cookies!! The cookies were delish.

food was nothing short than amazing. great food and great service. will be coming back for the lomo saltado

While the area…read morecan feel hectic, it is absolutely worth making the trek to experience this culinary staple. I decided to visit after seeing it ranked so highly on Yelp, and it lived up to every expectation. I ordered the Lomo Saltado ($22.99), which features tender filet mignon strips sautéed with french fries, red onions, cilantro, tomato, soy sauce, red vinegar, and Peruvian garlic rice. The quality of the meat is outstanding--it literally melts in your mouth like butter. While the dish is perfectly seasoned on its own, Chef Felipe's house-made sauces are a must-try. The green aji sauce is vibrant and fresh, while the chili oil provides a wonderful kick. I highly recommend sitting at the counter if you can. It's mesmerizing to watch Chef Felipe work his magic on the wok, sending flames high into the air as he cooks. The service is truly unparalleled. Juan, the owner, is the most welcoming and cordial host I have encountered in a long time. He treats every guest like a long-lost friend and speaks with such pride about the restaurant's 45-year legacy. It is clear that he deeply appreciates his team; he specifically asked me to recognize Chef Felipe for his consistency and hard work. Juan's hospitality even extended to gifting me a complimentary Chicha Morada--a refreshing, perfectly balanced Peruvian drink that was the ideal accompaniment to the meal. Don't sleep on MexPeruGypsy! This is a must-visit spot in Los Angeles, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Here is to another 45 years of success!

The menu had so many different options that I had a hard time deciding between the soups, traditional meat dishes, and pasta selections. I ended up ordering a pasta dish that surprisingly had an Asian-inspired flavor profile. It reminded me a bit of Kung Pao chicken with linguini, thanks to the red and green bell peppers, onions, and a nice kick of spice. It was delicious, especially with the house-made green salsa they served on the side. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and although I passed on the plantains since I was dining solo, the server kindly brought me a sample, which was such a thoughtful touch. This is a cozy, mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot with a mix of two- and four-top tables. Parking was easy, and I found a space right in front. I stopped by just before closing, and there were still a few people enjoying dinner. Expect to spend around $30 per person. Overall, I enjoyed the food and friendly service, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It was a hole in the wall and had relatively good reviews for lomo saltado so I had my hopes up thinking the food would be amazing. My chief complaint is that it took almost 30 minutes for my single order to come out because the kitchen was busy prioritizing to-go/delivery orders. Had I known this, I wouldn't have eaten inside the restaurant; I would've actually gotten it delivered. My next complaint is that no receipt was given as customer copy, and no itemized receipt when asking for tip. The total for this dish came out to almost $30 including tip, and the waitress/cashier didn't mention the lunch special at all. I brought it up to ask about it after I paid, to which she replied, "Oh, you probably don't want that cuz it's smaller. But it comes with a drink and soup." The fact that she assumed I wouldn't want the lunch special (when I'm there at lunch time) that would've been a much better deal at $17.99 and perfect portion size for me, and yet charged me for the regular dinner price was a bit presumptuous. It's also weird that they would ask for a tip (which I gave anyway) before I even received my meal. It's less about the price but the principle! But I was just hungry and needed to go to my next appointment, so I didn't argue, but again, the food took way too long to come out so I had to ask her about it after the 25 minute mark. Food came out after 30 minutes, and I had to get up and ask for the aji verde sauce when most restaurants usually serve it to you with the meal. The aji verde sauce which is really important to me to complement this dish, unfortunately missed the mark as well. I really missed Sol Inka's aji verde sauce that's well-rounded in every way. Lomo saltado should be balanced between the meat, tomatoes, onions, and fries, but it was definitely heavy on the fries with only two pieces of tomatoes. I would've preferred more meat too if it's the regular plate, but it felt like a fries dump. I wouldn't have had complaints if this were the lunch special order. Anyways, if you don't mind the headache & having to be extra proactive to get what you want, this is the place to be, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. $30 for a sub-par lomo saltado where well over half of it is fries does not sit well with me, considering I waited 30 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately, I'd just have to stick to Sol Inka for my regular Peruvian food fix, as the flavor is more robust there anyways. Oh, and Sol Inka also gives complimentary warm bread and butter, while there isn't anything like that here.

Bass Ceviche: A great Peruvian-inspired dish! Highly recommend adding the crispy quinoa crusts for additional $3. Wood-fired Skirt Steak: This dish is very similar to Lomo Saltado, which is our favorite Peruvian dish. Steak was cooked to perfection. Yuca Fries: This dish was very interesting, featuring chorizo, yuzu-cilantro, pickled ajis, and cotija. It was delicious and perfect as a side dish. Asked him if he wanted to go get a bite. I told him let's find somewhere that has Salmon. Since it was late afternoon, I didn't think there would be any chance to find something good. I yelped Seafood Near Me and Lonzo's Peruvian Restaurant popped up. We looked at the pictures and the food looked good. I was eyeing that Crispy Salmon. We drove three miles and got there around three pm. When we arrived there was plenty of parking on the street. As we walked up to the door, it didn't look like they were open. My son tugged at the door and it was locked. Just as we were walking away a young woman came to open the door. She said they were having a meeting, but they were open for service. We were seated in the front of the restaurant. They also had a huge dining room on the side. The young lady served us some fresh bread with this delicious green sauce. She took our drink order. I had a plain ice tea and my son had a Peruvian soda called "Inka Kola" My son kept raving about the bread and green sauce. It was good. We decided to try the Grilled Spanish Octopus as an appetizer, my son ordered the Arroz Chaufa/Fillet Mignon, and I got the Crispy Salmon. Before I go any further I just want to say that each dish's presentation was TOP NOTCH. (See Attached Photos) When I first saw the Grilled Octopus, I thought damn this looks so good I don't want to cut it. I told my son to take the first bite. The look on his face was priceless. He said, "Mom this SLAPS!" I cut off a piece and it was so tender, it melted in my mouth. We got our entrees and I must say again my plate was BEAUTIFUL! When they say CRISPY SALMON they meant it. Both the skin and the meat had a crispy texture. The Quinoa was very good. The side salad had little vegetables that were cut star shaped. The salad's ingredients (apples, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados) were so good I barely used the dressing. I just ate it. I must admit I was hungry, I cleaned my plate. I haven't eaten like this in a while. The portion sizes were just right. My son loved his fried rice, although he said it was a bit salty. He had a second, Inka Soda. He told me , "Mom, we found a new place near my house. I will definitely be coming back here!" Y'all don't sleep on Lonzo's Peruvian Restaurant. It was worth every penny! We will be back!
