I have been coming here for years with my family! The owners, Freddy and Trini, are so nice and hospitable. I always get the Pupusas revueltas con todo. They are good sized. I can't even finish two. Ask for the spicy salsa on the side. It's a spicy, Mexican style salsa. It has quite a kick!!! When the fried plantains are ripe (Platanos Fritos), they are on point. The place is a standout in the neighborhood, where there is virtually nothing. It's very large, perfect for large parties, and Freddy is a one man show who is always attentive. Salvi approved! Ricas pupusas I love that they have the option for corn or rice flour for the pupusas. Very authentic. The rice one I got revuelta and it was not greasy it was perfect. Curtido was lacking flavor and they give you very little by comparison. There was an older lady walking around eating in the kitchen area. I was ready to walk out, but we were hungry. Server was cleaning both tables and chairs with the same rag. Service is hypocritical. Met up with my cousins to have breakfast and we had to do Salvadoran! Well, I found this spot and the food was really good, things came out hot and while it's slow it's due to them making everything fresh. The staff was nice too, helpful and attentive to our group. I would definitely recommend. They have some parking but there was also tons of street parking when we went. I would recommend you come hungry as they have tons of options too. The food was delicious! We ordered the Carne Asada breakfast plate and lunch/dinner plate. We also ordered pupusas and the Salvadoran corn cakes. Everything was tasty. The service was slow as there were probably 5 tables and people placing to-go orders and only one person cooking and one waitress waiting all the tables & bagging the orders. (So 2 people running this place). The server was very friendly and did a great job. The place is a mom & pop, hole in the wall type restaurant. We were in the area and we can across this El Salvadorian family restaurant in our research for a quick bite. We were lucky and we found a parking right outside the restaurant. The restaurant was very neat and clean. Our waitress was very helpful and patient to explain to us their different dishes. We ended up ordering mix of Cheese Pupusas made from wheat and corn. For a "whole in the wall" and a small family owned restaurant, this place wins! We were starving and in the area so Yelp lead us here. We are so glad we tried this spot. Our waitress was friendly and fast. The food came out fast. And the chefs in the back looked liked they were cooking the meals they cooked in El Salvador. It reminded me of when I was in Central America visiting family. It felt very homey. The pupusas...what can I say! They were the star! They were so yummy and authentic. We had a plate that had crema, Salvadorean cheese, beans and rice with bread. Omg! Talk about comforting, we ordered a whole other plate of that. I would come back because it transported me to El Salvador. My niece got a soup it reminded her of grandma, just the way grandma makes it at home. They overflowed her bowl and were general in their portion. I definitely book marked this place because we hope to come back. The only complaint is the bathroom. Unfortunately Areli, the bathroom is by the door so I saw two people come in to just use the restroom so it's tagged up and the toilet seat, I can't even describe it. Pupusas are made to order, so they are very fresh, very cheesy and very delicious. Same for the tipico, meat is fresh & they give you plenty of food for a plate! This place is legit. We were headed to a show at the Greek and we're hungry and wanted to wait out traffic...I'm SO glad we stopped. Pupusas STUFFED with goodness. We had the jalapeño (fresh spicy peppers), the squash and the revueltas (easily the tastiest-though they were all amazing). But what really slapped? The friggin chicken tamal! I've never had masa that light and pillowy before-it was steamed to perfection. Two people, 4 pupusas, a tamal and an order of plátanos....$25. Seriously cannot beat it. Yes, the service is a little slow. Yes, you wait longer for homemade food. SHUT UP. WORTH IT. It's out of the way for me, but I will travel for more of that delicious homemade masa. read more

They're stuffed with a lot of ingredients making them big in size, and have a wonderful homemade taste that will satisfy even my mom (she's the pupusa critic!) The masa is not too thick or overpowering and has just the right amount of salt! The cheese is succulent, flavorful and always an attraction to pull apart that long string of cheese that can get any good slice of cheese pizza jealous! As I've been to many hole in the wall restaurants with a great food. The coffee was really good. We quoted 40 min for our food. I order huevos rancheros and my son two pupusas. I waited 40 min for our food! When my plate came it was wrong. I got scrambled eggs. The pupusas just ok. The tamale very bland. Definitely not coming back. I ordered two con queso y chicharrónes ($2 | cheese y pork skin), w/ curtido and salsa. The masa had a nice texture, the pupusas were a bargain vs the size, and they contained a lot of fillings. The only downside was the curtido could have been spicier: 4 Stars. Ambiance was welcoming, and the service was friendly: Both 4 Stars. EC is a nice alternative to popular El Tepayec in the area that serves Cal-Mex cuisine in a fancier environment. read more

I love Salvadorian food... I came here with my parents and sister on a Friday around 7pm. Once we arrived we were seated immediately. There was maybe two other small groups inside. Once seated, my sister and mom ordered a grilled fish dish to share. My dad just went with a tamale since he wasn't very hungry and I went with the Chile Relleno plate with ground beef. Once we ordered, they brought out complementary chips and salsa. I LOVED their salsa. It was spicy but oh so good. Definitely addictive. My mom and sister's grilled fish looked good. It came with some polenta patties, rice, salad, and beans. They loved it and gobbled it all up. My Chile Relleno was okay. It was topped off with some chunks of cheese. It was also served with rice, beans, and a salad. I didn't like that my chile relleno looked like a big ball of mush. My dad said he liked his chicken tamale. Our total was around $40 without tip. The pricing was average. It was about $10-$14 a plate. I thought the pricing was okay. I rather would have had more of the main dish than the extra sides (like rice, beans, and salad). I'm from Orange County where you can find about any type of food and I thought everything was okay. We ate here because we were in the area and were waiting for traffic to die down and were hungry. As for service, like other yelpers had mention, the guy serving us was awesome. He was friendly and made sure all our drinks and chips were refilled. The inside has an intimate vibe with a Salvadorian welcoming feel. The outside can be easily missed and looks a little shady. If I was in the area I would consider coming.
