Salvadorian Horchata
Anika M.

Staff is friendly and provides quick service. I like to visit during lunch time on Saturday as this place does tend yo get busier for dinner. I usually get the same plate as it always hits the spot. I did try the Ensalada beverage and it does have a lot of flavor but is on the sweeter side.

C RATING

C RATING In general we love pupusas. However, I have no idea how this place has 4.5 stars. I had to send my pupusa back; I have never in my life sent a pupusa back. Horchata tasted watered down. Curtido was lacking flavor and they give you very little by comparison. There was an older lady walking around eating in the kitchen area. I was ready to walk out, but we were hungry. Server was cleaning both tables and chairs with the same rag. Service is hypocritical. Let the C rating speak for itself (which is tucked away behind the register area, not visible on the door).

Cheese And Fried Pork Revueltas Pupusa

The place is a hole in the mom and pop type of restaurant, nothing grand but clean and service is good. Ordered four pork and cheese (revueltas) to go and they were delicious. First time here and parking is not the best but would give them try again. I love that their salsa is not spicy means they're authentic. The curtido was really good too.

Carne Asada, Queso con Frijoles Pupusa & Tipico!
Camilla T.

The food was delicious! We ordered the Carne Asada breakfast plate and lunch/dinner plate. We also ordered pupusas and the Salvadoran corn cakes. Everything was tasty. The service was slow as there were probably 5 tables and people placing to-go orders and only one person cooking and one waitress waiting all the tables & bagging the orders. (So 2 people running this place). The server was very friendly and did a great job. The place is a mom & pop, hole in the wall type restaurant. It's big so if you live in the area, it's a nice place to come have dinner with your family and could hold large groups if they had more servers :)

We were in the area and we can across this El Salvadorian family restaurant in our research for a quick bite. We were lucky and we found a parking right outside the restaurant. The restaurant was very neat and clean. Our waitress was very helpful and patient to explain to us their different dishes. We ended up ordering mix of Cheese Pupusas made from wheat and corn. We were very happy with it. We also ordered their carne Asada platter and it was delicious. I was very happy with my experience and will definitely come here again when I'm in the area

For a "whole in the wall" and a small family owned restaurant, this place wins! We were starving and in the area so Yelp lead us here. We are so glad we tried this spot. Our waitress was friendly and fast. The food came out fast. And the chefs in the back looked liked they were cooking the meals they cooked in El Salvador. It reminded me of when I was in Central America visiting family. It felt very homey. The pupusas...what can I say! They were the star! They were so yummy and authentic. We had a plate that had crema, Salvadorean cheese, beans and rice with bread. Omg! Talk about comforting, we ordered a whole other plate of that. I would come back because it transported me to El Salvador. My niece got a soup it reminded her of grandma, just the way grandma makes it at home. They overflowed her bowl and were general in their portion. I definitely book marked this place because we hope to come back. The only complaint is the bathroom. Unfortunately Areli, the bathroom is by the door so I saw two people come in to just use the restroom so it's tagged up and the toilet seat, I can't even describe it. So come here for the food, and use the bathroom before you come lol.

Breakfast item; Tipico. Substituted refried bean for casamiento. Added jam and veggies to my eggs.

Salvadorean place is good. Good pupusas and other typical foods from the old country. Need to try other items to give a better opinion

Terrible bland mix on the pupusa's. The salsa which helps, was even worse. The people were nice though.

My boyfriend is Salvadoran, so we're always on the hunt for great pupusas and yuca frita. We…read moreusually make the drive to North Hollywood, but decided to give this place a try--and it definitely did not disappoint! We started with the ensalada, which was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. For pupusas, we ordered the revueltas, loroco con queso, and frijol con queso. We tried both corn and rice dough, and honestly, both were delicious. My personal favorite was the frijol con queso with the rice dough- so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The yuca frita was exactly how it should be: crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicharrón was cooked perfectly as well, and the homemade green salsa that the sweet lady helping us made was the perfect addition. She was so kind, welcoming, and always had a friendly smile, which made the experience even better. Another thing that really stood out was how clean the restaurant is. It's spacious, with plenty of seating whether you're coming with a large group, your family, or just stopping by for a meal on your own. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. Next time we're bringing my Salvadoran in-laws- I have a feeling this place will get their authenticity approval too! Spanish!

So many five star reviews, I'm here to add another!…read more Ordered online, picked up for lunch, what a treat! I got 3 pupusas revueltas to go. Service was quick, there is a big dining room with plenty of seating in case you want to dine in, looked very clean. Massive pupusas with a lot of filling, not one of those restaurants that give you nothing but masa, these pupusas were legit. They come with Curtido and the usual salsa roja. So much flavor packed into these things, these are some of the best pupusas I've ever had, good size and they do not cheap us out on filling. Definitely try em if you're in the area! Parking on the street, or in the back very limited in the alley.

Well, let me tell you: one day finally came, and I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner. At first glance? Tiny parking lot, barely noticeable storefront, and the only noise inside is a dramatic telenovela echoing in the dinning area like someone's getting slapped in slow motion. One server, juggling 13 tables like a seasoned pro. I peek into the kitchen and see a señora who could've been cloned from my abuelita--hair up, apron on, face of quiet intensity. That's when I thought, "Okay, this meal is either going to change my life or ruin my afternoon." Spoiler alert: it changed my life. Garlic. Shrimp. Carne asada. Even the beans tasted like they had a secret family recipe handed down by generations of flavor goddesses. I left full, happy, and already planning my order for next time like a strategist preparing for battle. Was the service lightning fast? No. But if you're craving drive-thru speed and microwave flavor, this ain't your place. Me? I believe in waiting for greatness. Would you rush your abuelita in the kitchen? Exactly. Sit down. Be humble. And let the magic happen.
