This is such a quaint little spot!…read more We were working our way through the backroads, heading toward the lakeshore on a recent late morning when we came across this cute diner. You are invited to place your order at the counter and then find a seat while you wait for your meal to be brought out. My husband ordered an omelet. It was a special for the day. I went with the corned beef hash breakfast plate. The omelet my husband ordered was very plain. Sparse ingredients and he noticed a plate being placed in a microwave, seemingly to melt the cheese. This is not something we love to see. The omelet also did not include hash-browns, which was not specified. In our opinion the price point would have been better represented with the addition of some breakfast potatoes, alongside! :) My corned beef plate was very tasty!! It came with corned beef, two eggs, breakfast potatoes and delicious toast! We also enjoyed fresh jam - request this if it's not offered to you as they have regular, pre-packaged smuckers on the table, but fresh jam in the cooler! :) The staff were all super kind and helpful! This is a very cute spot - we need more spots like this around our local cute towns!

We have been to this Inn many times over the years and decided to celebrate our 25th wedding…read moreanniversary for one night in a Patio Suite. We arrived early, but we were told that the room was not ready. This was a Tuesday and the Inn seemed to be mostly empty. We tried again at 4:00, which is the stated check-in time. Still not ready. We watched as several people came and checked in with no issues ahead of us. Finally, we were able to check in at 4:30. We had pre-ordered a bottle of white wine for our room to celebrate, however, by the time we got into the room, all the ice had melted and the wine was warm. The rooms are so old with dirty carpeting and dusty furniture. The bedroom TV is streaming only and the Wi-fi is not good at all, so it was useless. We used to have a lot of fun in the arcade, however, it has been completely changed and is an absolute joke. Half of the machines were unplugged or not working and they no longer take quarters. We walked around some of the park and found the trails to be completely overgrown in a lot of areas. We went to the dining room around 7:00pm. They were completely understaffed to the point that someone who usually works in the kitchen turned out to be the only server, busser and host....she was doing everything by herself. When we ordered a 2 glasses of wine with dinner, we were told there wasn't anyone old enough to pour alcohol! Are you kidding!?! I would like to say one positive thing. The server, I believe her name was Gabby, was the only employee in the entire Inn that was pleasant and did as good of a job as she possibly could have. Our history and relationship with the Potawatomi Inn may have come to an end....sadly.

We had a sweet visit to Potawatomi Inn this past weekend. Our days were filled with nature hikes,…read morepuzzle building, craft making, swimming in the pool, toboggan rides and eating in the hotel's restaurant. The pros: -lovely library room - best views in the hotel, cozy fireplace and apparently, we were the only ones excited about the library despite the hotel being fully booked -the craft room was hopping! It felt like this room should take over the lackluster/outdated game room based on the strong audience (it was hard to find a spot given how many folks showed up at 4:30 when the craft room opened). They offer ceramic painting, wood items, etc. at an affordable price point. -you can't go wrong with the toboggan rides (its what their most known for) -lovely hiking trails and fresh air The cons: -Our hotel room was easily over 80 degrees with no option to turn it down (despite it being less than ten degrees outside, we were all struggling to sleep due to the temperature) -the game room and pool could use some serious attention - both felt outdated and dirty -the restaurant felt like it had a lot of room for improvement. It was a buffet during both of our visits and there was always a long line of folks waiting to pay, be seated, etc. despite their seeming to be plenty of staff. They also weren't keeping up on bussing tables, etc. It felt like leadership/direction was lacking from this room. Ah, it feels like with some small tweaks and updates, this place would be a blowout five stars.
