HOWEVER around 1 pm today I went into the store to buy my daughter a squishy dumpling. Here at this store the part where you can walk inside and shop, the dumplings are 9.99 mind you everyone knows you can buy dumplings way WAY cheaper than that anywhere else in Tulare County. but since I was already here and thought of supporting this business, I thought OK fine I'll just buy my daughter something from here. Mind you we had already spent like $65 on food for three which is fine. We were also in a party where our other people probably spent $30 each on food like I said which is fine. We came to support a business. We're not even from here, we came from Porterville. OK the lady that helped me inside the store was rude. She was an older lady with pink fake acrylic nails, and she did not greet me when I walked in, she did not hand me my change in my hand when I finished paying which is rude. If you don't like people why work in a place where you cater to people? was it because I'm white and she's Mexican? I EVEN SPOKE SPANISH. She was just NOT friendly. Not welcoming. So we walk out of the door, walk back to the food area not even five minutes her dumpling popped. When my husband went to take it back which was immediately She really argued with him. You can tell the dumplings are old. They've been sitting there on the shelf. She really argued with returning it with switching it out for another one and her attitude alone was just so ugly. I don't understand how people think that treating people rudely will make them come back. Now, like I said, the food was delicious. I would love to leave a five star review, but the experience was so disheartening. You would think that you would want people to come back to your establishment so you would do whatever to be kind and to be understanding, but I felt like we didn't get that from her. be aware of purchasing items from this place. I would like to add a young tall girl dressed in all black was super nice to me the first time I walked into the store to buy fountain drinks.

The tacos were very really good too, personally I'm a shrimp gal, I love shrimp. So trying both the fish and shrimp tacos, I would say the shrimp ones were far more better than the fish. I loved how the shrimp is breaded, which makes it taste more flavorful. Let's talk about those empanadas !! They were BOMBBB. I understand why they are very popular, they got a really good cheese pull and everything. For sure those empanadas stole the show. The atmosphere was very nice, there is no indoor seating. Everything is outside, if I could describe it, it's more of like a patio kind of sit down. They do have an area where it's shaded and u can eat comfortably tho.

My girlfriend and I decided to try Tacos Y Tortas Chalio's after she mentioned they had great…read moredrinks at reasonable prices, and overall we had a good experience. The restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout service. There isn't a host stand, so you simply walk in and let them know whether you're ordering to go or dining in. The dining room was comfortable. It wasn't the coolest restaurant temperature-wise, but it wasn't uncomfortably warm either. The highlight of the visit was easily the michelada. It came with chamoy and Tajín on the rim, a tamarind straw, shrimp, cucumber, and a lemon wedge, all seasoned with Tajín. The presentation was excellent, and more importantly, it tasted fantastic. It's easily one of the better micheladas I've had in the area. For food, I ordered a vampiro with asada along with tacos featuring chile verde, carnitas, al pastor, and asada. The vampiro was different from the ones I've had in Mexico, but it was still very flavorful and came loaded with beans, meat, cilantro, and onions, plus grilled onions and a pepper on the side. The tacos were also very good and came with grilled onions, peppers, and lemon wedges. My girlfriend ordered the mixed molcajete with avocado on the side. The portion was huge, and there was enough left over for another meal the next day. Everything we tried was flavorful and well prepared. The biggest issue during our visit was service, though I don't think it was the fault of the employee working the floor. It appeared there was only one person handling the front of the house while also making drinks, taking orders, delivering food, and managing takeout customers. Once a few tables filled up, it became obvious she was overwhelmed. For example, when we ordered our first round of drinks, I also requested waters for the table that never arrived. By the time our food came out, I had finished my michelada and had nothing to drink while eating fairly spicy food. I had to walk up and request another drink and water multiple times before receiving anything. The employee was always polite, but it felt more like a staffing issue than a customer service issue. Another thing that stood out was the number of flies around the dining area. It wasn't enough to ruin the meal, but it was noticeable enough that better fly control would improve the experience. Overall, the food and drinks were excellent, and that's what ultimately carries this review. With a little more staffing, better fly control, and slightly cooler indoor temperatures, this place could easily be a five-star experience. As it stands, I would still gladly return and would recommend it to anyone looking for good Mexican food and excellent micheladas in Visalia.

I was prepared for "similar to Mexican, yet different". The grilled beef steak(like carne asada) with oiled rice and salad was served with a small side plate of round thick tortilla -like bread. Sort of like a pupusa without a filling. I can tell there was corn meal in it. I ordered the hibiscus tea. It was tasty and refreshing. One of my dining companions ordered a dish that was as somewhat similar to a chile relleno, only filled with ground beef and without cheese. It was tasty and savory, but had no heat, no chiles. It was a little awkward for me, because had no expectations of what to expect. The meat was a little salty, and tasted good. The serving portions were of good size. I do like the heat of Mexican food, so I was a little disappointed the El Salvadoran food isn't. Next time, illstick to the pupusas. Service was attentive.
