Loved Agave Mexican in Marshall, VA! Low-key, unpretentious and yummy food! Beautiful weather to have lunch on the patio. Situated on busy road with a gravel parking lot, but still a nice rural environment for us city-folk! Wonderful service by Victor! 5 stars all around!

This Texas girlie was highly impressed by this restaurant. I walked in and felt right at home... the colors, sounds and smells were everything I'm used to seeing at traditional Mexican restaurants and given that DC has been quite disappointing with foreign food, my heart was quite happy to be here. First of all, this was the first place I noticed with refried beans on the menu since I got here a month ago. Secondly, the sauces on the windows just about warmed my ice cold heart. Thirdly, the food was seasoned well, cooked to perfection and had quite big portions. My friend and I kept eating way past when we should have. We meant to take leftovers home but had nothing left to take home and had to roll ourselves out of the restaurant. I got the Huevos Con Chorizo which had two scrambled eggs with Mexican sausage, Spanish rice, refried beans and tortillas - it was delightful! He got the El Agave Special with had One tamale, two taquitos mexicanos (chicken and beef), one nacho chip with beans, one with chicken, one with rice and one with beef, with cheese on all four. Served with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes - all for only $17.29. We started with a free chips and salsa (which was also yum) and washed it down with a potent margarita. This was such good food and very reminiscent of home. I would go there again in a heartbeat and highly, highly recommend it. Staff were also super friendly.

Soooo good! We will be back! Maybe tomorrow! Came back two days later, loved it again. We like sitting on the deck. Great service, amazing salsa, hot fresh authentic Mexican!

We were traveling and came across this cute little restaurant. They didn't open until 11 and we were a little early so waited. So happy we did! The food was amazing with very generous portions! The ambience is perfect, staff friendly and it is very clean. We highly recommend!

We eat a lot of Mexican food and this ranks among the best. Don't let the exterior fool you - this is a hole in the wall hidden gem.

Standard rural VA Mexican food. Not gourmet, not bad, and oh so convenient for those of us in the upper Piedmont.

You can pseudo tandem park in the lot, as the other sections seem to be filled with vehicles from the auto shop. The menu offers tacos, pupusas, quesadillas, tortas, tamales, burritos, soups, and grilled platters. We ordered: +carne asada tacos - the meats were a little dried out and didn't have much marinade or seasoning on them; adding hot sauce didn't really help, either +elote tamale - this was actually cold and super stiff; not sure if it's been pre-made and sitting out for a while +chicken tamale - this was actually filled with seasoned and tasty chicken, and good with the hot sauce; but, the masa was also more on the stiff side and seemed to have just been reheated Staff here are friendly and welcoming. Once you order, you can dine-in at one of the tables in the back, and then pay up at the front once you're finished. I'm glad I was able to give this place a try, but wouldn't return. +flavorless carne asada tacos +reheated, cold tamales +friendly service +pseudo tandem parking

We tried a good chunk of the menu and not a single one disappointed. The salsa was a fantastic blend of fire roasted tomatoes with large chunks of onions with it. Hatch green chili queso was blended great and topped with queso fresco which gave it an additional depth of salt. For the tacos, each tortilla was homemade and perfectly grilled for a great vehicle to the fillings. Smoked chicken was flavorful and moist which pared well with their aioli. Their catch of the day today was swordfish which was marinated well and topped off with a fresh jicama slaw. The birria, while not your typical wet taco, had flavors that were right in your face and again were topped with the salty queso fresco which helped balance it out. Overall, we'll have to make our way back out to Middleburg just to experience more of this fantastic menu and wonderful atmosphere.

Food came pretty quickly, corn salsa first and maybe less than 10 minutes later all our tacos came. They have a delicious sounding breakfast menu and about 9 food options, a decent sized beverage menu and then a few types of chip and dip. The tacos were delicious and it's clear the tortillas are made in house and fresh. The favorite was the fresh catch of the day, the fish was cooked to perfection and paired with the slaw and just the right bit of citrus. Definitely adding this to my rotation of regular spots to eat!

Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory
