I signed a service contract with Merlin HVAC. They sold to Einstine's Home Services. When you call the office number you get a bot that just sends you to the web to make an appointment. We have had 2 appointments so far this year and still haven't received service. The last appointment was a "no-call no-show," and I've had enough. I want a refund on the remainder of the service contract. I'll move on to someone who can provide the promised services. read more

As a tech from a different hvac company with 9 years of experience it disheartens me to work after this company Einsteins and see that all they did to a customer was take advantage of his age and disability's and lie to him!!! They over charged them 2100 dollars for a motor that was under warranty through the manufacturer, sabotaged there wiring so when it came to heating they had no heat all to a man that was 80+ and had dementia!!! The proper thing to do would have been too called a child of the elderly customer!!! I had Einstein's out about a month ago to spray blow-in insulation in my attic. Their pricing was very competitive and I try to support smaller business as much as I can so this really seemed like a good fit. Less than two weeks after they serviced my home, my A/C unit went down. I called a 24/7 emergency company who came out and they said my unit was covered in insulation. I called Einstein's back and had them come out to see how their insulation wound up in my A/C unit and they determined a duct had so severely deteriorated that it was sucking in the surrounding insulation. The tech claimed it was very hard to see the duct and I had to pay for the visit since it "wasn't their fault." I honestly regret paying and have thought about it since and realized it's completely their fault. There was so little insulation in my attic to begin with that my ducts were incredibly visible, and I made sure to point out both air intakes I had before they started their work. Considering the business works with ducts as well, they know what deteriorated/old/bad ducts look like so you'd think they would look before they sprayed but they absolutely did not. The lack of care in work resulted in me finding out that all my ducts are bad (old) from a third (also small and much more careful) company I hired... This is costing me thousands in extra work that is more complicated by the fact that there's insulation everywhere, and I have to do it urgently as opposed to being able to wait because all that insulation is getting sucked into my ducts and blown around where there are leaks, creating inconsistent insulation coverage. This could have been completely avoided had Einstein's LOOKED at the ducts before they sprayed. They would have even earned more money from me to replace them before insulating!! The cherry on top was Einstein's trying to quote me a replacement cost for my A/C and completely deteriorated duct - only the duct was necessary. I got several other quotes and everyone else said I didn't need to replace my A/C, I just needed to work on the ducting and consider a few smaller projects to maximize my performance. Bottom line: they're not careful, they don't care about ensuring their work is quality, and they are money grubby, despite offering competitive quotes. Never, ever work with Einstein's. Edit: check my pictures. There was no offer of duct work via the messages or over the phone. I also said I didn't know if I needed my A/C replaced or not and I needed a professional opinion. We are SO happy with Einsteins Home Services. If I could give more than 5 Stars I would. Lancealot was our technician and he was beyond friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and extremely professional. He was able to identify the issue with our AC within 10-15mins and fix our system within in the hour! I've dealt with a lot of different companies in the past and always felt like they were getting one over on me, over priced, long turn-around time. Fast, friendly and affordable! Our AC went out today. I requested a quote through yelp and Einsteins was one of the quickest to respond. Their service fee is cheaper than most and they were at my house an hour later! With in 10 mins the technician (LanceLot) had the issue diagnosed and 15 mins after than had it fixed. Straight to the point, no BS. He even added a 1 year service contract (cleanings and check-ups) for $30 more. The repair was faster than expected and cheaper than expected. Hard to find that with AC work! LanceLot wore a mask/gloves and was about as friendly as can be. I would absolutely recommend them to family and friends! read more

Had Einsteins/Merlin's come out to look at a plumbing issue we were told no service call fee of $49.99 instead because of our flyer it would only be $24.99. Well that was a bunch of BS as we were charged the $49.99 further more the plumber was late. Tried to sell is on stuff we do not need. They were rude, disrespectful very argumentative on almost every issue.Needless to say we will not ever use this company for anything. Beware of this company and Merlin's AC (goes by both) . Their business model seems to include taking advantage of the elderly. Don't fall for "we will send you an invoice", reputable businesses provide you an invoice at time of service so if there is a problem or question it can be dealt with on the spot. My parents were charged for ultra violet bulbs which were placed on two of their three air conditioners, (which are worthless) $2200.00 and a membership $ 750 neither of these things were approved. But now show up on their credit report as a home improvement debt! I phoned Merlin AC to get this matter resolved with no return call. I was home recovering from surgery, on meds, the tech was coming over to just check my unit and pointed out a few things that needed attention. I let him fix about an hours worth of stuff, no major parts or anything. Before I knew it I was signing for a warranty that I don't need and a UV light in my vents. The guy did about $300 worth of work, way over charged for the parts he put on and at the end of it I was on the hook for a total of $5000. When I called the company I got no help, no call backs. When I called Service finance company to complain and tell them I'd been ripped off they were no help either. Now my credit is screwed up from this and Einstein's or Merlins WTF ever is $4000 dollars ahead. Again I was doped up on pain meds and when I called to dispute it......nothing. I can't imagine how they treat the elderly as far as taking advantage of people. read more

Our AC was not cooling the house so I did a request on yelp and they were the first to call me and it was right away at 8pm. Some other companies responded 3 days later. The service was excellent and easy. The technician that came out and explained everything and gave me options for my budget since I'm not working right now. I highly recommend them! read more

BEWARE - Funny that when reading the reviews, many say Einsteins / Merlin Home Services took advantage of the elderly, disabled or sick individuals. I am a single 63 year old woman and depend on professional to let me know what a truly need instead of taking advantage of me. In 5/22 I bought the warranty that cost me $2,960. On my first checkup in 11/22 all of a sudden I needed a complete new unit and they came up with nearly $15,000 for a Goodman two stage unit. Of course it was expensive, but again I trusted this company. I did a 18 month same as cash program. I was concerned when I overheard the tech tell my neighbor as he was wheeling out my old unit that he didn't know why I was replacing it. I immediately called their office and stressed my concern as to what I overheard. They assured me my old unit was shot and I needed a new one. Then I lost my job I had for 11 years and could only find employment for a third of what I was previously being paid. I called and spoke to management at Einsteins / Merlin and they stated there was nothing they could do to discount the overpriced unit and send a revised invoice to the finance company and told me to call the finance company and maybe they had a hardship / forgiveness program. Of course, they didn't have one. So, it looks like I am now a statistic of their predatory way of doing business. Why does this company not give you a detailed invoice at time of service? Why do they have you signing your life away on a phone or tablet, then say they will send you a copy later after it's all over and when you do get it, it's a non-descriptive, very general invoice with no itemization of the unit and services provided that come up to that $15,000 price tag? The only thing I can think of is that they are predators with a history of targeting many people that are writing these reviews. What a way to do business and what to be known for. Hope your happy knowing you destroyed an elderly person's credit that lost their job and offered no discount on an overpriced unit that would help reduce the finance amount. AMAZING customer service, from beginning to end! There are alot of companies around the Valley that could learn from Einsteins. Brittany took my call and her recall of my story of how my air conditioner failed was spot on. She arranged an appointment that afternoon, as it was 114 out and my house was beginning to get warm. (No additional charges for a rush appointment.) When my tech, LanceLot, was on his way, Brittany phoned me and sent me a text with a link to see where LanceLot was driving, enroute! LanceLot was masked, professional and took the time to explain to me exactly how my 18+ year old unit had failed. I explained that we were looking to buy a different house and weren't in a position to buy a new unit. LanceLot repaired the unit, inspected the unit and serviced it for the rest of the summer. I was in a hurry and needed service to be done ASAP (due to another HVAC company who left me hanging..) and they got the job done right away. It's nice to have the Midwest work mentality right here in the valley because it sure is hard to find (I am in the real estate industry who deals with contractors, repairmen, etc all day long). I would give no stars! In May I paid $4000.00 to have my air conditioner fixed. I was told the inside unit was rusty and wet and needed to be replaced. The unit was 5 years old. Should I mention I was a membership holder and the company was coming out to service my unit 2 times a year and no one ever checked the unit in the house. In June (one month after replacing the inside unit) my air conditioner went out and a technician from Einstein's came out and said I had a leak outside and welded it. I was told it was fixed. It is now September and my house is 96 degrees. I was told that I now need a new condenser and was given an option for a payment plan. Here are the options I was given:#1 Split condenser $4,583.00, #2 coil only 3800.00, #3 split condenser/air hander 8483.00. I already bought an air handler in May. Sadly, there is no Einstein in this business. The business is inconsistent, and they do not stand by their work or their word. read more

This company sent a technician out by the name of Bryson on 12/1/21 to flush our water heater. (Your company gave me a flyer at the home show.) THEY WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WATER HEATER!!! ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND WORKS FINE! He then tries to sell my husband (who has pnuemonia and on oxygen) a $420 Temperature & pressure valve kit, and pressure reducing valve for $1488 and a flush kit for $285. Also wanted us to buy a 7 year Platiaum PMA (maintenance plan) for $2100 or a 10 year plan for $2800. My husband told him we could buy a new water heater for $2,200 at Home Depot. We declined the home water inspection because we knew we were being scammed and did not want him entering our home. I cancelled the air conditioner "inspection" I had scheduled for 12/3/21 because I do not trust anyone at this company! Way to take advantage of the sick and elderly clients!!!! Called out for a regular check up and cleaning of AC units. Told me I needed a couple parts installed. Ended up spending about $1000 which I found out later was a lot for what they did. That's on me. I should have shopped around. Called them a few weeks later because one unit stopped working. Guy showed up and told me the unit needed to be almost entirely replaced for many thousands of dollars. Said they could get the parts today if I agreed right now. Told him to write up a quote and I would let him know (implying that I planned to shop around). Expected him to write up a quote in his truck but he instead went back to work outside. A very short time passed.... Good news! The unit is fine. There was just a switch that needed to be replaced. I paid him a few hundred. That was probably too much again, but at this point I just wanted the repair guy to get the hell out of my house. I'm not saying the guy was trying to cheat me, but the only other explanation I can think of is that he didn't know what he was talking about. Either way, not recommended. read more

Received the coupon in the mail and called them over for an analysis for a 20 yr old unit in 2020. It was recommended to be repaired rather than replaced back then and it included a 5 yr member deal. Proceed with the deal and had a working AC for the past year. Barely called them over and was planning to replace the unit this year. Asked for the quote during the free furon trip and called two months later for a new quote. The lady who answered the phone did not put me on mute which I can hear the management's attitude and refused to come out for a new quote. The website clearly indicated free quote any time but they refused to come out which Idk how it aligned with the company's mission and vision to serve customers. Today, they came out last time and indicated they can't proceed any repairs on the unit which the only option is to replace the unit. When I called in few months back, the new quote was rejected and the management did not even want to send somebody out for a new quote. AVOID AVOID AVOID! This is a complete Joke! I decided to schedule a Tune-up and Pressure Wash Service through a phone call I received from Einstein's Home Services. Normally I would hang up and not even listen to the sales pitch but thought this was a good deal and decided to schedule an appointment. Per our surveillance system their service tech came out at 12:18pm and by 12:22pm he was already at my door showing me pictures he took and his quote to sell me some maintenance package with their company that was priced at $2,560. I declined as I have an extended warranty on our unit that covers all labor and repairs. I did ask if he actually serviced the unit and responded that yes I sprayed a bunch of lemon through your unit! I'm Sorry WHAT?!? So you are telling me it took you 4-5 mins to take pictures, draw up your quote and do a full tune-up complete joke! I phoned the company and asked for the service fee to be refunded to me because no service actually took place. They did honor the refund. read more

Brittany was great to work with. Our AC went out around 4pm. They had a tech out by 6:15pm, which is unheard of for the middle of summer on a record breaking day in AZ. Our tech Carl was outstanding. He was personable, professional, and truly seemed invested in just getting us cool again without the usual "oh you got this and this and this, so you could fix it, but really you should just replace it". Our unit is at least 15 years old. Of course there's other recommended services they could have pushed for. They understood that my only concern today was not having to try and find another place to spend the night with a family of 4 and 2 animals, especially in the midst of a pandemic. In the midst of the chaos, it's relieving to not only find a genuine local business, but one that seems genuinely interested in you as a person and not a dollar sign. And the fact that they are only servicing emergency calls during the heat advisory shed a lot of light to their values as a company as well. read more
