I had an okay experience at this location. I stopped by while running an errand nearby and had just wanted a quick snack because I skipped breakfast. They didn't have many customers in the cafe except for one fella in a corner on their laptop. I ordered a strawberry and cream strudel and a a dragonfruit lemon drop drink. Both pastry and drink were good, just a tad bit too sweet for my liking when it came to the drink. Portions were good; quality is okay. Representing 2019 for the letter E is E is for Einstein Bros. I went to this location a couple of times including in January 2019 when I was doing rideshare driving. Parking is a pain over here, but I made do to eat here. Not the highest quality bagels or friendliest, but decent and convenient breakfast/lunch option for Glover Park neighborhood. read more

It pains me to even give this place a 1. From the very beginning of taking our orders, the cashier was extremely rude and acted as though we were inconveniencing them. From there it took them about 10 minutes to start preparing anyone in the restaurants' orders. During this delay we heard employees fighting, cursing , and committing major sanitation infractions, all in front of the customers. As the delay reached around 20 minutes, and frankly wondering if my order was safe to eat, I asked for a refund. I had mentioned that the food was taking too long. The cashier then proceeded to loudly yell at me that there were other customers ahead of me. The service was so bad and so unprofessional that I asked to see the manager. The cashier rudely yelled that they were the manager. While processing my transaction, the cashier continued to make rude remarks towards me and my party and at one point, I honestly thought that they were going to come over-the- counter to fight me. Confirmation was not made that the order had been canceled and the cashier just walked away from the register, cursing and yelling. When asking to see the manager for a final time, because I in no way, thought somebody with that lack of professionalism could reach a management level position in hospitality, I was told yet again that they are the manager and proceeded to curse at me and scream. I am honestly in shock as to what I experienced at the restaurant that day. The customer service wasn't just bad, it was hostile to the point where I feared for my safety. On top of that, the food looked as though it had been laying out all day and against code. I honestly fear for the customers who did eat their meal that day. Maybe I'd like Einstein better if the employees were friendly or at all attentive. I stopped here Monday morning to grab a breakfast sandwich before heading into the office. When I arrived, it surprisingly wasn't busy. Skip this place and go to Bethesda Bagels (by far much better). I see why many years ago they had to downsize. Absolutely tragic experience. It is 8 am on a Tuesday. The restaurant had been open for 2 hours but looked as if they had just opened. Every single table was dirty and so was the floor. Even the counters are dirty. Someone left the vacuum cleaner out front from the night crew, but obviously didn't vacuum. Fridge is not stocked. There were so many crumbs underneath the bagel display, including a spare bagel. The staff was slow and arguing with each other. It took 10 minutes for one person to complete their order at the point of sale. No one greeting customers or anything when they come in. The manager / owner of this store should truly be ashamed. If I could award zero stars I would for the abysmal cleaning and customer service. Either clean house (literally) and with the staff or just close this location. read more

I don't like the bagels here. There's better options even in DC and I always found their cream cheese way too gritty. And through no fault of the restaurant itself, the outdoor tables are a hub for some of the vagrant population in Glover, and I've seen some unfortunate confrontations with passerbys there. But I have to give some shout out for their service. It might be odd, because it can feel brusque and very on-off. But when you're in, you're in! There's definitely peeps who come in with first name conversations on the regular. And as a personal experience, they were super accommodating for catering - even slipping in a last minute delivery option when we vastly overestimated how much we ordered. Einstein's may feel a bit homogeneous for my liking, but in some weird way stopping by feels like supporting some of the locals. read more

I had planned in doing some work on my laptop at Starbucks, but all the seats were taken. Looking across the street, I see the big yellow sign of Einstein Bros Bagels. I didn't remember that being there before so I thought I'd see if they had some comfortable empty seats, a wall outlet, and maybe some free WI FI. BINGO! Yes they do! As soon as walking in, there was a girl with a "wheel of fortune". I spun it and won a rubber bracelet. Kinda had my heart set on a travel coffee mug or t shirt, but I won the bracelet. Oh well. I ordered a mocha with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. The coffee was not strong and the chocolate wasn't too sweet, the cream helped to cool the temperature as it hit my lips. Not bad. After a couple of hours I ordered a green chile bagel with lox and cream cheese. It took them a few minutes to prep it. They put a tiny bit of capers and sliced purple onions. I actually like my purple onions chopped, it just makes them a little more pleasant to chew and put down. But it tasted great on the green chile bagel. So if your gonna have "bagels" in your name, you'd better not disappoint with the actual products. Einstein is a chain, and I must say they do make great bagels. The coffee is pretty good and they do offer things like ready made assorted green salads and fresh cut fruits and various juices. It makes another choice of places to sit and camp out in Glover park. read more

Also the bagels are poorly prepared, we ordered the Nova Lox and the onions where huge not sliced thinly as they should be, but the bagel was paper thin though! Also their tea is served from a very dirty plastic jars with grime and sitting out without refrigeration and that's supposed to be "iced tea" also almost $3 for that. It starts at the top: the manager seems disinterested and is often short. Walked in for breakfast one late morning, as we often do. No croissants! Asked if more were being baked and the manager (we see him all the time, so we know it's him) said, "well, we need them so they're being made." Rude. If something is that popular, make the next tray while the other is out for sale. Continually disappointed in the service, but there are no other bagel places in Glover. I'm surprised by the low rating here (currently 2 star average)! As far as Einsteins go, this one is about as good as it gets! The staff in the mornings are quick, super nice, and always get my order right. You can't go wrong with their everything bagels but I recommend the French toast ones with maple schmear when you're in the mood for a sweeter breakfast. I don't recommend the avocado toast option. I really like Einstein Bros but this location is easily the worst I've ever been to. I walked in to order an iced coffee and decided to add 3 shmearfuls since I was in a rush and they are pre-made. I paid and it quickly became clear that there were a lot of people waiting for their food. I watched several other people check on their food and get rudely told off by the manager. After 10 minutes of waiting, I was finally given my iced coffee. Another several minutes went by (now close to 15 minutes of waiting) I was still not given my shmearfuls. When I told the woman behind the counter that I was still waiting, she told me she would ask. Then the manager rudely said that I had to wait. I walked out without my shmearfuls because I had waited 15 minutes, with no end in sight. Overall, terrible customer service and extreme inefficiency, even at a normal hour with many people working. I do not usually write reviews but this is the second time I have been totally jipped here. This time I got the veggie bagel and last time I got the nova lox and both times there was absolutely no cream cheese or hummus on the bagel. To make it worse, I chose the non dairy cream cheese and payed extra for it, and I got this tiny smear of cream cheese. I was very eager to go get breakfast at Einstein this morning since I have been to others and have had nothing but good experiences. My husband and I walked in, ordered and while we were waiting for our food, the manager starts yelling at me. The manager explains to me that the girl on the register rang in my order wrong and that I was charged a lower price for coffee than what it should have been. I said I would pay the difference and he scolded me telling me to get in the back of the line. I waited 10 more minutes and he rang me up for a whole other coffee. I asked him to explain why he was charging me this way and he yelled and said "just take the coffee and leave". I did and I will not be coming back. read more
