Service was terrible today and also on our previous visit (same server). We will not be back. Food was acceptable but service was terrible, server never came back after food was served on both occasions. We had to wait a half hour for our food, toast was cold, gravy wasn't hot even though they were not busy. Poor service. I can legitimately say that I only come here because nowhere in the area has decent bagels. The staff is slow & they do not take it serious. As you can see from the bagel pictured, they put in very little effort. Do not even bother with the coffee as It tastes like straight syrup. A year or so ago I used to come here every week but there's been a very clear change in staff & it has since gone downhill. Ultimately, each time I visit I am disappointed and come less and less. I think I'll probably take my business to Brooklyn Water Bagel instead. read more

Conflicted about this review. On the one hand, the bagels are the best in VB - at least in my opinion. The guys who prep the bagels are nice and get the orders through quick enough and they do so with a smile. On the downside, the young lady who takes orders (at least on the day I was last there) is absolutely miserable and makes no attempt to hide it. Had to repeat my order 4 times - for just two bagels off the menu with no substitutions! She just wasn't paying attention and couldn't be bothered. After repeating 4 times, she still got it wrong. Polite complaint met with more eye rolling and more mumbling and disinterest. It's a shame. While the bagels themselves were super fresh and tasty, the cleanliness of the place is disconcerting. Specifically, the floors look as if they haven't been swept or cleaned in weeks, although the food prep area does appear to be clean, and the food prep people all wore gloves and appropriate coverings. I'll give it one more try, because I do love Einstein's bagels, but just one more then done! read more

We've been going to Einstein every Sunday for years and years with hit or miss results . Today we ordered our normal half dozen box, they were out of most flavors. They "threw in" 2 free bagels for the inconvenience. Well, it's easy to see why they were free, the bagels were at least a day if not 2 days old! They weren't edible. They charged me twice for a bagel box at the drive through and the girl said she wasn't good at math! I was at the window forever and could not read the receipt. I had so many cars and trucks behind me honking I had to go. Saw receipt with glasses at home. Why did take 2 workers to look at computer? Honestly, so happy! Went there last week for the first time ever. And I decided to get a side of potato salad with my meal. So glad I did. Because it was the best potato salad I have ever had in my life. Sent my man there today to pick up lunch for me. And I had called ahead because I didn't see the potato salad on their menu. Nice man answered the phone and told me it only came with meals. Was a little sad to hear that I couldn't buy a huge container of it. Lol! And maybe they'll add it to the menu if I go there enough. Was coming there ones in a while, never had any issues (except messing the order) until now. Besides a bagel I've got a hash brown (10am). Two of us had a same thing. It didn't even looked like a hash brown, just a fried ball of mash potatoes. It's had some sour weird taste. 1am at night we've had a bad belly cramps, and couldn't sleep....we were dying for 3 days. Einstein Bros is a good place to go for breakfast or lunch. Their bagels are fresh as always, but make sure you get there early so you can get a wide variety to select from. They sell out fast. I went there on 9/23/19 and had a blueberry muffin. It was very greasy. Not sure why. It tasted ok. They are a bit overpriced in my opinion. And being a franchise, they are probably limited to thinking out-of-the box with pricing. It's a homey feeling when you go in and a great place to meet up with friends. If you sit outside, you will hear the loud noises from the traffic. If you sit inside, especially on the weekends, you'll have to talk over the noise too. read more

Having had plenty of good experiences at Einstein Bros, and having only had one poor experience recently, I thought I would give them another shot. That was a mistake. The hours posted on the door said they were open until 3:00 PM. My fiancee and I arrived at 1:55 PM, and we were told they were closing at 2:00 because it was Easter Sunday. We were given a choice between eating outside in the heat or taking our food to go. We decided to eat at TooJays instead. Jim B. is right. This ain't a NY bagel. I usually eat their breakfast sandwiches on a plain bagel, so I can't speak for their bagel selection. Coffee is good and their decor is much better than Starfucks across the street. Here's my complaint: When you order a breakfast bagel sandwich(my choice is turkey sausage, egg and cheddar), I like grape jelly on it. Einstein's charges you for the grape jelly. NY bagels these are not, but delicious they are! They are super fresh, fresher than you will find in most places, even the fresh grocery store ones are nothing like these. These are airy, soft, slightly chewy and just so darn good. The ordering is a bit odd and every person I ordered from seemed confused or something and they send you to other end of the counter to pay. They forgot my coffee the first time and I only ordered a half dozen bagels and two coffee's, not that tough and the place was dead at the time. Egg and spinach panini sandwich was delish, a bit pricey at over $5.00 for just a sandwich, but really good. If you want super fresh bagels this place has them, worth the visit! read more

Well "the honeymoon is over" as I am sad to report that I went to get some bagels a few days ago and when I got home it was obvious that the woman working the window gave me the wrong order. So I had to get in the car and drive back (10 minute ride) and get the right one. I had originally asked that the bagels get toasted but that was water under the bridge (they were cold). She confessed that she "grabbed the wrong bag". I really do not have much tolerance for this mistake. On the plus side, their food is generally awesome tasting. Bad service can be a detriment as I found out on my last visit. I am not going to go back for a while as a result. *Whenever you order fast food it is always a good idea to look inside the bag(s) and make sure you are, in fact, getting what you have ordered. Also make sure you are given the right change (when using cash). These basic checks can save you a headache/heartache and driving back to the place is a real pain. We live in a rush rush society but if you take your time and do things right it can really pay off. read more

Cashier was not wearing her mask over her nose and mouth so I asked about it. She said "I know I'm not. The corona virus is way overplayed". I did not ask for her opinion of the corona virus not did I want to hear it. I said I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund. She threw up her hands and said ' I am goin got to kindly walk away" and stormed off to the back room. A minute later she came out, called her manager and whispered in her ear. The manager, who was also not wearing her mask over her face, proceeded to issue the refund. The cashier walked by behind her manager and leaned over to the manager whispering in her ear loud enough for me to hear her call me an a*%hole. Wow! Get a clue people! Never again.
