This is my favorite place! When I was pregnant, it's all my baby craved (yes... gestational…read morediabetes followed ). When it's been a hard week at work, this is my go-to pick-me-up for coworkers. It gives total "wow factor" vibes when someone tries it for the first time. And now I have one more reason to love Bagelheads -- the service!! I accidentally ordered online for the Davis Hwy location instead of downtown. Before I could even panic or ask what to do, the workers said, "Don't worry, we've got you, girl." Now I'm sitting in my car writing this review because I just love this place and the people inside it so much.

Best bagel in Pensacola. Full stop…read more If you are along the water and looking for a breakfast spot, then Bagelheads may be your jam. Bagels and pastries of so many kinds plus phenomenal breakfast sandwiches and so much more. Almost everyone loves a good bagel, and they even have some gluten-free options (with some qualifiers). You can get a number of cream cheese options or other toppings, and their lox has that phenomenal smoked flavor. The Lox Works, complete with cream cheese & capers, can be done on your choice of bagel. In fact, any of the breakfast sandwiches can be done how you want it, and there are literally a million combinations. There's plenty of seating inside & even outside, so you can enjoy the view of the placid gulf as it laps up to Pensacola Beach while enjoying your breakfast. Bagelheads even offers their own roast coffee blend, called 'Mac Daddy', and it's a very robust cup of coffee. Self-serve coffee runs you $3.50 & you can get a dozen assorted bagels to go for $20, which will make whomever you bestow them upon very happy. You can even drive-through! Great local small business with an outstanding offering, great service, and a great brand.

We've been to Coffee Cup many times and have always had a great experience! We have noticed these…read morelast two trips that there have been a lot of new staff being trained, and all have done well. Having a good service background, my husband and I are always understanding when a place is training staff - everyone starts somewhere. But what makes a difference is that everyone still had a smile on their face no matter how overwhelmed they may have felt! We've never received anything BUT great service. The food is delicious and came out fairly quickly considering it was a busy Saturday. We talked with the owner who's owned the place for the last 8 years and they try hard to preserve the restaurant. He shared that the bar top stools were the original nickel stools, they had the original coffee machines and the original grill/stovetop. Their goal is to make updates to the restaurant while still keeping some of the history, which I feel is really special.

If anyone that is in management...try going to the table to see what is wrong with the food instead of sending your young waitstaff with your lame message. "It's been on the table a while he should have said something sooner" It was absolutely gross, and I tried to eat it. It just kept leaking more oil like the deep water horizon. You wouldn't have eaten either if you saw it. Looking for decent cheese grits, seeming great staff try it. DO not order the omelette, if you do bring some oil dry.

It was also nice seeing them interact with their regulars--it definitely feels like a neighborhood coffee shop with a loyal following. I ordered the Poe Iced along with a slice of the carrot coffee cake. The coffee cake was outstanding--rich, moist, with fantastic icing, and tasted like a quality homemade dessert. The Poe Iced was good, but it wasn't quite as complex or memorable as I expected from a coffee house with such a strong reputation. In hindsight, I probably should have tried one of their seasonal specialties instead of sticking with a classic drink. My only real complaint is the drive-thru, which was a bit awkward to get into, so I ended up parking and walking inside. Thankfully, the welcoming atmosphere more than made up for that inconvenience. Will I be back? Absolutely. One thing I've learned about independent coffee shops is that they're always worth a second visit. Sometimes it takes trying a different drink to really appreciate what makes them special. While Drowsy Poet didn't quite blow me away on my first visit like a few other coffee houses have, it's still a very good café and easily a step above the typical chain options like Starbucks, Dutch Bros, or 7 Brew.
