I came in yesterday and was blown away by the warm reception of the barista that was working. She let me sample the teas and a tiny bit of hot chocolate that was left over and went above and beyond to not just serve the customers, but also to connect with everyone that came in to order a drink. It's easily the best service I've received in a coffee shop in DFW. Both the shop and the menu are simple and unassuming but between the high quality service and drinks they make, it's well worth a visit. What a local roaster should be! I first heard about Eiland at Dallas Coffee Day and talked to some of their roasters. They invited my friend and I to their shop any time for a tour. I just thought they were being nice but when we showed up later on the owner gave us a tour and gave us a behind the scenes look. He took the time to explain their roasting process and answer all of our questions. All of my interactions with the staff have been great too. And what's even better, a purchase of a bag of beans includes a free drink off their menu. The location is pretty hidden away, basically on a side street of warehouses. Their shop also doesn't have any seating because the space is pretty small, their main focus seems to be on being a supplier instead of a coffee shop. They do have a menu with espresso bar, pour overs, etc. If you're in the area and want to try something different then check them out! read more

I've lived in Richardson for quite some time and just now stumbled on this gem. I had no idea they have been here for 13 years. This place is mainly a coffee roaster and focuses on making coffee, but there is a small retail side where you can walk in (or curbside on your phone) and order coffee. I want to give this place a higher review because I really really liked the taste of the coffee beans. They seemed really high quality and fresh. However, a few things about this place threw me off, which is why I'm giving them a lower review. I didn't like that there was no seating inside at all. I was excited to bring in my book and sit there for a few mins but I just had to take my coffee to-go. :( Also the sizes are so weird. Their medium is so tiny. So I'd recommend getting a large. The staff here are always welcoming customers in with warm smiles, and are very knowledgeable about coffee. This is the place to go for a quick stop for a grab-n-go! I discovered this while dining at 60 Vines. The coffee was so good I asked what it was. The next day I drove down and picked up a pound or two. This is by far the best coffee I've had. It is fresh, rich, flavorful. Just amazing. Just roasted takes on a whole new meaning. Their Sumatra is amazing. You'll have to make a special trip as their location is not some place you'll just be driving by but it is well worth it. The only negative is that they only sell full pounds which can be an issue if you want to try several varieties. But as this has become my single source for coffee thats not really a problem. Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Richardson and pick up a pound of this amazing coffee! read more

Then get up and order an americano to go and leave with a couple of pounds of coffee for your home pour-overs. Pay with Apple Pay and tip to your comfort level. I wish the coffee shop is open for longer hours and on weekends. Due to a major accident on my normal route to work and having ran out of coffee at home, I stumbled upon Eiland's this morning and I'm glad I did. I ordered 'off the menu' a flat white and it was honestly a little too milky but the quality of the coffee was top notch. I didn't deduct any stars for the slightly not perfect flat white because it's not on the menu so I give the guy kuddos for even making it! The only real complaint is the size. They have 8oz and 12oz and I ordered the 12oz (as I mentioned before I RAN OUT of coffee this morning so I was dying for a large cup) but the 12 oz was small! For $4 it wasn't necessarily a bad deal, I just wished they offered a larger size (and I'd be happy to pay a few dollars for for it!). read more

Happened upon this coffee when eating at Whiskey Cake. They had some for sale and we picked it up. It was some of the best coffee I've ever had. Seeing that it was local I decided to drop by and check the place out. It's located on a street that looks like mostly warehouses. One of the men who worked there was very helpful trying to explain the differences in coffees. So the bathroom is closed-assuming because of Covid which I totally support to be safe and the to go stuff on the shelf says everything is sanitized so only take what you are purchasing , BUT the person making our drinks is going to go from touching the order/checkout screen to making our drinks without sanitizing , then answering the cell phone(so many germs), back to making drinks and then grabs straws and puts them in by the top where you put your mouth, with unsanitized hands. Person I was with took a sip before realizing--oh great. I just removed my straw and lid when we got back in the car. Saw a glove, but it was resting on top of the cell phone before he answered it-smh. How about sanitizing after touching the screen if screen isn't going to be cleaned after previous customer and having the straws in individual wrappers like every other place I have been to during Covid. Not worth the risk to me. Person I was with just said, I kept wondering when was he going to sanitize, especially after he was getting the ice out. Then we all agreed how ignorant we were to just not leave and go somewhere else-wouldn't want that pre-pandemic, but especially during one! Small little shop in its factory. Seemed to be very popular. We came since we had some extra time and it was near our aunt's place. Basic menu where they focus on the coffee. Very friendly & helpful. Not a fast place but they take the time to talk to you. My sister got a cold iced latte with lavender which was pretty good. I got a hot latte and it was good. I love Eiland Coffee Roasters! They hands down have the best bold roast and their barista is very knowledgeable with any problems I'm having with making my daily espresso! Before they only did wholesale and it was such a bummer for all of us coffee lovers out there, but I'm so thankful they finally opened shop. I do hope they expand bc the store front was a tad small and is mainly a to go coffee/shopping for your beans. I believe if you buy a bag of coffee beans you get a free coffee in house which is superb (please check with barista) They also provide substitutions for milk! I believe them to be oat, soy and almond. For the first time around I tried their vanilla latte and it is the perfect combination of bold beans and vanilla! I first discovered this place around December 2017. We were in the area and I really wanted a decent cup of coffee from anywhere except Starbucks. I was really hesitant as we were coming closer to the location. The location is hidden and doesn't have a lot of traffic. Little did we know that we has discovered a hidden gem. The person working at the time allowed us to check out the roaster and we fell in love. She made us an amazing cappuccino and we have since been back every weekend. We use their beans to make our own coffee now, but I highly recommend Eiland Coffee Roasters. They are one of my favorite Roasters in Texas. Double thumbs up! read more
