Yaniv and his work crew built a new 790 sq ft paver patio, two planter beds, paved the walk on the side of my house, installed a drainage system, and installed a lighting system... in three days! I love how the patio and lighting looks, and the drainage system worked like a charm when the recent atmospheric river hit. Like with any construction project, I had to keep a close eye on the work and be very clear about what I wanted and about any questions or concerns I had. Sometimes I had to jump in and give direction on some particular details, and at the end of the project there was a punch list that we went through and the team promptly addressed. All of this is typical of any construction project, in my experience. Overall, the quality and speed of the crew's work was top-notch and I enjoyed working with Yaniv. I still can't believe how quickly they finished the project. Yaniv had helpful suggestions and was very responsive. His attitude and attentiveness was consistent from the bid stage through the work stage. And very importantly, the bid was reasonably priced, clearly broken down into line items, and pointed out cost saving opportunities, for example by hiring my own electrician or by reusing an existing transformer. This review is long overdue. EHD Builders transformed my very old 2 car garage into an amazing ADU/guesthouse that if I didn't have way too much stuff I'd move into in a flash. A friend of mine used EHD to build her ADU and the work they did was stellar -- so good that I finally put off making the decision to convert my garage. I spoke to 3 different contractors before choosing EHD. Besides just having a good feeling about Eric and seeing the work they did for my friend, Eric was the only contractor who gave me a firm, no nonsense quote for the work. The other contractors were vague about the costs and didn't seem all that interested in answering my questions in any meaningful way. Once their architect did an initial drawing of the ADU, Eric and I worked together to make a great plan which turned into it into a truly wonderful little house. Although there were a few delays, they were all caused by Covid and city offices being closed and overwhelmed, or suppliers waiting for delayed deliveries. The crew and subcontractors who worked on the project were all very professional and did very high quality work. Eric, Yaniv or their project manager were here virtually every day that work was being performed and answered my questions or addressed my concerns and changes without hesitation, and they dealt diplomatically with fussy neighbors.
