Initially, I was quite impressed with EGN Builders Group. We were looking to transform a closet into an office, and EGN was one of the first companies I contacted. Someone answered right away and seemed confident and eager that the company could do the work for us. Representatives were sent a day later to come check out the space and gather the info necessary to provide a quote. I should have known on that day that EGN was just smoke and mirrors. First of all, during the ~5 minutes that they were actually here, no one took measurements of anything. Not a thing. They basically eyeballed it. They didn't really go in the closet to get a closer look. I was naïve and thought maybe they had done these jobs plenty of times in the past or something... LOL. They said they could do the work, they'd get me a quote ASAP, and left. Well, I got the quote a few days later... way lower than it should have been. I called and asked a few questions, and they said they would get back to me. Apparently, they didn't actually realize the extent of the job. There were no measurements, and they asked me to send dimensions over to them. LOL, what?! I waited for a few more days -- nothing. So I called again and they said the representative was no longer there. Okay. I was told I would hear back once they were able to figure some things out on their end. We needed some work done on the door, for instance, and they needed to discuss internally how best to approach it. The door was wired a certain way, and we needed the wires removed. EGN said they had a couple of ideas and would let me know. Then, they just never followed up. Approximately 2.5 months go by, and I get a call one afternoon from a very sheepish person who said he is from EGN and wanted to know how he can go about getting the estimate approved. By now, we had obviously moved forward with someone else. The work had been done well over a month ago, at least. The fact that EGN called after so much time had passed was... almost insulting. Definitely laughable. Especially because they still had not figured out what to do with the door. I guess they were hoping they could buy more time to figure it out...? I would highly recommend NOT using EGN. Maybe they were going through some issues internally or whatever, but however they handled it was pitiful. Go get a quote from somewhere more reputable. read more

We just had two bathrooms completely remodeled including all new sewer lines, lighting, insulation, complete new showers, sinks, toilets, and fixtures. It took a long time but the end result was worth it. Thank you to Samantha, Chencho, Jonathan, and Daniel for making this remodel experience a great one. Update review: EGN came to fix issues. I am still not thrilled as shower is still crooked(was not crooked prior to tile replacement) and job does not look professional but in fairness EGN did attempt to address my issues. I would not use them for a remodel in the future due to work does not look like a professional performed them but a do it yourself job. I do admire and appreciate the integrity of the company to come out to perform repairs, which is why I update to a 4 though workmanship is a 3 star. read more

I was looking for a construction company for quite some time other companies I found had outrageous prices or they lacked customer service. About 4 months of searching I found EGN and I couldn't be happier. The whole experience was amazing Art S was my sales consultant his customer service skills were out of this world, Samantha R my project manager was amazing she made this process very easy she gave me many options to choose from as this is my first time dealing with a remodeling project. After all work was completed Managing Director Joe E called me to follow up and make sure everything had been completed to my satisfactory. Over all this experience has been amazing ! I take posting a one star review very seriously. I never want to do it unless I feel it's entirely warranted. Here is an an accounting of what we went through. We contacted this group at the suggestion of a neighbor. They came to our home promptly and at that time it was the builders rep and the architect. We met with both. Discussed that our first need was a garage and if possible we'd love to add an adu. During that first month they were responsive and did ask us some questions about the project. But then came silence. They went in to get permits. We heard nothing during the entire permit process. We were not asked about modification, updated on timing, not a single word. There was not a single update provided. Later when we asked for a copy of the plans as we had paid for them, at this point well over a year later they brought us permitted plans that did not include a garage at all, only an adu. When asked about the error, they admitted to a staff change and apologized assuring us we would at a minimum receive redrawn correct plans in an expedited manner. That was over 6 months ago. We would simply have liked the architectural plans we had paid for two years ago. Sadly we do not recommend them for projects. read more

I am currently in the process of doing an entire ADU from a garage . I read recent reviews both good and bad and I'd like to share mine ! So far I have seen no subcontractors! Initially communication was less than desired! Upon my request that quickly changed. I myself am in the general contracting business and so far I can't say enough good things about how this company does its work.. Pricing is fair and work and attention to detail exceptional! Very professional. I hired them to build me an ADU. I put down a deposit and they wrote up some estimates for options on building the ADU. There were many correspondences through email as I was in contact with the city about what is allowed and disallowed. Eventually I found out that I was unable to build an adu based on my lot and EGN refunded the deposit in its entirety. Very honest and professional company. I'm lowering my previous 2-Star review to a 1 Star rating. (If there was a zero, I would certainly apply it!). Mr. Sarkisyan, VP of Marketing reached out to me in earnest to attempt to recover the poor professionalism that was demonstrated from their first estimators (which are no longer with the company - the only prudent action taken by this company) and respond to my initial review. However, after several days of waiting for a finalized estimate, Mr. Sarkisyan went silent and didn't provide the final estimate to proceed with this project. This lack of responsiveness and professionalism appears to be the mantra for this company and I highly recommend you avoid wasting your time with this outfit as other reviewers have suggested. Mr. Sarkisyan, you blew it! I had a future kitchen remodeling project to be completed and several neighbors were also very seriously considering hiring your company for their remodeling projects as well based on my project completion success. Mr. Sarkisyan you certainly didn't represent your company's interest in my project or demonstrate what it takes to instill customer satisfaction and confidence in your company. It's obvious to me, based on other 1 star reviews, that this company's ability to perform is quite inconsistent at best. Don't walk from this company but RUN! read more

They did state was going to be late because of influx of job requests. What a fantastic experience from start to finish! The sales, design and construction teams were wonderful to work with. They took our single inspiration photo and helped us completely renovate our 25 year old kitchen and pantry. It's definitely our favorite space in our house now! I wanted to especially call out the owner, Erick and our project manager, Art. These two gentlemen were incredibly caring and treated our home and this project as if it was their own home. It wasn't just a renovation to them, it was about building a relationship and always ensuring we spoke openly with them and that any concerns we had were completely addressed. They send me the most rude person. He was not happy to waste his time to come give a free estimate. He was in a rush and just said it will cost me $14,000 cause I'm gonna have to change all my AC unit. How can he know, he didn't even look at what's wrong and what kind of repair needs to be done. I said I don't have that kind of money right now and just need to be repaired instead of replaced. As soon as I said that I can't afford to replace it, he said "then what am I doing here, waste of time" and walked out the door so fast, I didn't even had time to say bye to him, he was gone. I had an opportunity to put a bid in on a bank owned property, with an auction ending in 5 days - it seemed like a great deal, but I needed the opinion & expertise of an experienced general contractor to let me know what unforeseen problems may be associated with it in order to avoid becoming trapped in a major money pit. My relator & I had gone to the rural residential property, which brought up many questions and had difficulty finding contractors willing to do a walk through with us on such short notice. Fortunately, I got into contact with Ben Adani from EGN - he ran out to the location ASAP and sounded happy to help! While we couldn't be there all together, I took plenty of photos to refer to as Ben walked the property and spoke to me over the phone simultaneously, bringing up numerous costly repairs/code violations that we had overlooked. Unfortunately, I had to pass on the deal, but probably saved A LOT of money.
