Eggs, bacon, and home fries
Tonekia P.

I ordered this via uber eats so I'm sure it would have great served at the restaurant. It wasn't bad but I can say that they do offer you large portions! The eggs were cooked as requested, but again that time factor for food delivery should be taken into consideration. They even gave jelly and ketchup without me having to request it, which is always my biggest fear. They gave a lot of home fries as well as bacon. All in all, I would try it again, but I would definitely go to the restaurant.

I never really liked chain restaurants but being a Civic Holiday, not many places are opened. The four of us came by for breakfast, waited 5-10 minutes for a table which was fine, seeing how busy they were. Our server made an effort to bring us water, menus and our drink order before running off to other tables (thank you). I ordered the baja benedict (a new item) which consist of salsa, avocado, hollandaise sauce, green pepper and jalapeno pepper served with potatoes. I can never finish any of their portions because they're quite big so I usually share with my mom. There's nothing special about their food. It's decent, fresh and always made quickly so no complaints there. Would come back for breakfast if nothing else is opened/I am in the area.

Came for breakfast (brunch??) on a Wednesday morning and ordered the Chunky Monkey pancakes and the chocolate chip waffles with a side of bacon. The pancakes were really sweet and they were a bit on the dry side. The waffles were alright and the bacon was crispy. I recommend getting something savory to balance the sweetness of the waffles and pancakes!

It was a filling breakfast, I had ,3 eggs over easy with sausage. Eggs were cooked well, the only thing I don't like about eggsmart is their home fries. Was fairly busy but it was a holiday,(Family day) the staff still was on top of things, they were quick and friendly, price was alright but again its nothing special. It's your fast food chain of breakfast more or less. I probably will still eat there again but there is other places I prefer.

The experience here was not like any restaurant I've ever been to especially in the states. The staff were so friendly and kind. They made us feel like we were apart of the family. Our server kept saying she was so happy we found their restaurant. So happy we came to visit. She was so sweet. Let's talk food. DELICIOUS!!! Everything is made fresh. They give a pretty large portion I feel everything is shareable. I do not like turkey bacon at all. I don't know why they did to this turkey bacon or if it was because we were in Canada. I can't stop thinking about it or the blueberry pancakes. When we come back to Toronto we will definitely stop back by. Good service, a nice family environment, and good food is hard to come by. This place definitely has it all.

I'll be back just for this. Highly recommended! We also ordered a Double Smash Burger ($16.95) and NEW Biscoff Milkshake ($9.95). Both were very impressive and flavourful. The owner was there and super friendly. I could tell why there are so many good reviews for this restaurant. Absolutely satisfying dinner experience here. Willing to come back next time :)

Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars…read moreAmbience: 4 Stars Fill Factor: Filling I have passed by this restaurant many times over the years but never really paid much attention to it as the storefront did not stand out. However me and my partner had a craving for some breakfast food so decided to give this a shot. The short story is that this is a nice little breakfast place with solid food and great service. I ordered a classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and home fries while my partner ordered the pancakes. My breakfast was solid. It wasn't anything mind blowing but everything tasted as it should and overall I really enjoyed it. My partner's pancakes were really good though. The portions were larger than I anticipated and they were so fluffy. This is definitely what I plan to order the next time I come here. Service was great as the server was friendly, the food came fairly quickly and the server checked up on us regularly. No complaints from me on this front. The restaurant is not overly large but has a decent amount of seating. It was bright and inviting as their window at the front of the shop is fairly large. There was seating along the window so we decided to sit there as the sun was beaming into the shop that day and it was great. All in all, this is a nice local breakfast spot that I would easily recommend as everything from the food, service and atmosphere was great. Give it a try.

Was warmly greeted by Christopher and was told to sit anywhere I desired. Was provided menu's and took our beverage order. The menu is quite the spread and reasonably priced! Settled on the Farmers (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 proteins, home fries and tomato or fruit salad) When I was presented the food, the smell was amazing! The food was prepared to perfection and the pancakes... OMG... they were light, fluffy and oh so yummy. If you are a fan of the proper home fries (read: NOT fried) - you will be in heaven! The vibe here is amazing and wondering why I did not discover this gem earlier! Come by, say hi to Christopher and crew and enjoy a wonderfully crafted meal.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.

Home style food well prepared. Lots of variety in the menu....Staff are good people too.read more

Some reviewers complained about the loudness, but, compared to many other downtown locations, Landwers was a medium level of noise, and we were able to converse. It was not excessively busy, but if you are set on eating here, then make a reservation. I finally tried the Sinia Kebab, and it was tremendously good! It was also huge, and I had to take half of it home with me. The focaccia bread is excellent, and serves as a sort of bowl for this deconstructed kebab. My husband had his usual Cobb Salad, which he thinks is particularly well done at Landwer's. Our other dining companion had schnitzel, which came with some angel hair pasta. He enjoyed it very much. Service is, as I said above, "relaxed". If you are planning to see a concert or show afterwards, then plan ample time to allow the relaxed service to unfold (a.k.a this is not fast food!!) We had a 6:00 reservation, and we were able to make our 7:30 concert time with about 10 minutes to spare. The University location is conveniently located near Thompson Hall, the subway, and Union Station (Via Rail and Go).
