Food: always great food here. Beyond it being a chain and no points system, it's great. Their home fries (?) are great. Service: almost always excellent. Sometimes off and slow but they generally do their best. They don't seem to understand extra bold coffee and I know we've had it a few times before but not anymore even if we pay for extra bold. The food here has potential, but the service completely ruined our first experience. I believe our server was Ava although she never properly introduced herself she was inattentive didn't seem very knowledgeable, and most importantly avoided our table after our food was delivered. When we asked about certain items on the menu, she would say she wouldn't recommend them which makes you almost not even wanna eat at the restaurant. I ordered eggs fried hard with no runny yolk, but they still came out with the yolk. Still running instead of checking on us she disappeared. We received no drink refills. No follow up whatsoever. I eventually had to get up. Take my food to the counter myself and ask someone else to fix the issue even after she never came back to see if everything was OK. The frustrating part is that the restaurant was only about a third floor. There was no reason for such a complete lack of attention. Seeing staff focused on rolling silverware, checking phones, while customers were being ignored made the experience even worse. The pancakes and bacon were excellent, but the grits were very clumpy and inconsistent. I rate the food seven out of 10. Our bill is nearly $100 and they were plenty opportunities to turn this into the first experience unfortunately service made us decide to take our business elsewhere and we definitely wanted to order so many more items seeing that this is only our first time here. Bottom line, the food is worth trying, but I recommend takeout over dine in great food can't make it for poor customer service. read more

Eggs Up Grill ... criss-cross between J.Chris/Waffle House/Another Broken Egg/Egg Harbor. Certainly newer to me! Location is in the Publix shopping center. Seating is on an open floor plan. We were sat quickly and serviced quickly. The menu didn't strike me as anything new. Honestly, the donuts we ordered were the best part of my meal so I highly recommend them! I got the egg white omelette with breakfast potatoes and raisin bread. The breakfast potatoes were decent! The raisin toast was ok. My omelette was by far most the disappointing of it all. Not because it didn't come as stated, mainly because it just lacked flavor. Overall, for college students, this might be a more upscale Waffle House but I'd stick to Waffle House. It's a good option to try something different but just wasn't wowed by the food. 3 stars is still decent, though, and A-Ok. read more

As I've said before, I generally avoid reviewing franchised establishments, unless they offer something unique, or leave strong impression, good or bad. The Eggs Up Grill in Statesboro did just that. Arriving just before 10:00 AM, and finding the place to be moderately busy, my daughter and I were quickly seated by a pleasant hostess. It seemed our waiter had been waiting for us as he was there immediately after we sat down. The atmosphere was that of a typical diner/casual dinning establishment, without the garnish decor. With our coffee having been ordered, I began perusing the menu. If you simply want eggs, bacon and toast, of course, you can have that here; but, what stuck me was the variety of more complex, somewhat upscale, selections. The Crabacodo Scrambler, consisting of fluffy scrambled eggs mixed with light cheese, and plentiful avocado (not evident in my picture because I had already eaten most of it) topped with a single crab cake, was my choice. The flavors blended perfectly, with the chilled avacodo providing a balancing contrast to the well heated remaining ingredients. Served with toast (wheat, in my case) your choice of sides (I chose grits with cheese) at $13.99 for the meal, and an additional .99 for the cheddar cheese, (before tax and tip) the meal felt reasonably priced. read more

Visiting my college daughter and decided to check them out for brunch. Sunday was very bust but it was also parents weekend so that may be the reason as well. We sat at the bar and it took a minute before we were acknowledged. But we placed our orders. The shrimp and grits is what my daughter ordered and she was pleased. I got something simple like pancakes and bacon. I wanted coffee but they didn't have flavored creamer . Unfortunately I wasn't offered a refill on my water. The food was good for the crowd that they had. The chefs in the back work well together and very diligent about getting the food to the customers. I may try it again on a non busy weekend. I typically enjoy dining here but this time and the last has been disappointing. There's no pride and it's obvious by the upkeep of the dining area and bathroom. I counted at least eight dirty tables and the floor was definitely dirty as well. As I left the bathroom l can smell the smoke from a cigarette coming from the back door. The staff is kind but there's no time management with operating on the floor. Lastly, my potato came out cold. I've been to an Eggs Up in Rome, Ga. but first visit here. Quickly seated by friendly host for a later breakfast around 10 with restaurant about 90% full. Initial service was prompt though dragged just a little later. (Edit: later looked back at receipt - beware, they add a tip, even for parties of 2 but didn't mention, so then I tipped regular amount on top. Grr.) Having already had a small bite early, I didn't want a huge meal so got the "Little Waffle in the Hen House," which included 2 eggs, bacon & 1/2 waffle. The scrambled eggs came in a sort of strip & didn't appear to be two full eggs (see my picture) but wife's crab-avocado based plate (which she enjoyed) was large & she shared a bite as well as some potatoes & toast points so I had enough. I did ask for the bacon crispy, which didn't quite happen but overall it was fine. Wife declared decor "cute" though mostly it's one big open room. No problem there. The food was so delicious. The service was excellent. Our waiter Justin did a great job. The place was very cute and clean. The reason they didn't get five stars is they are new. There is a significant wait time from ordering the food and getting it. This is a timing thing for the new place but the wait was worth every bite! First they didn't get order right, that was realized by us and then, got home and was very disappointed. Ordered the red, white and blue waffle. Supposed to have (according to description), Belgium waffle with toppings of strawberries. blueberries, bananas, powdered sugar. Whipped cream. Sounds and looks delicious in the picture. Got home it was two waffles with about 8 cut up strawberries sections (not 8 strawberries), crumpled little shavings of bacon and that's it. No blueberries, bananas, powdered sugar or whipped cream. But it was the same price!! It came with bacon or sausage. Got sausage links. Got 2 of those. We requested sugar free syrup. We got one the other was regular syrup. Oh well! Ordered coffee.
