Two eggs sausage and home fries - delicious
Jared M.

Best local breakfast, hands down. I went with the classic eggs, sausage, home fries (and a side of bacon of course). It's not easy to differentiate this kind of meal at a breakfast cafe, but this place does it. They do not go cheap on the ingredients. This is not your paper-thin bacon and bland sausage links. They serve exactly what i would make for myself at home. For more adventurous breakfast or brunch, they've got lots of creative and equally delicious sandwiches, baked goods, and sweets. Not pictured is the breakfast Reuben sandwich. Amazing.... Comfortable seating, plenty of space and quick, delicious food. The staff here are always happy to chat with customers and are very appreciative of our compliments. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for delicious breakfast or brunch.

When planning a drive from New Jersey to New Hampshire, I mapped out an area which would be convenient to stop for breakfast. I settled on Newtown, CT and checked Yelp for breakfast reviews. Thanks to reviewers, I found Eggs & Co. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Half of it is like a traditional deli, the other half has tables. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Our breakfast was excellent! My wife and I ordered French toast with fruit and my in-laws had pancakes. Everything was delicious. One thing we didn't order but looked amazing, were the desserts. The cherry cheesecake and the carrot cake warrant making this trip again! Everyone here was very friendly. I recommend stopping here for a great breakfast if you're in the area!

Great little hole in the wall located in a small shopping plaza in Newtown. Very Covid friendly and owned by a father and son duo that is very outgoing and fun. My husband had the avocado omelette and I had the chorizo omelette with jalapeños. Both came with hash browns and toast. The omelette and coffee were huge and tasted great. Super fresh ingredients and very family friendly atmosphere. They also offer lunch and have a wide array of fresh pastries that get delivered daily from NYC. Will definitely be back They take credit card and have lots of parking

This message hanging in the restaurant along side the old man's verbal abuse ... :-/

Starting with the positives: The food was absolutely delicious! The el burrito, French toast sticks, the bomb breakfast sandwich, avocado toast- all superb! Fresh, quality ingredients and flavorful! The drinks delicious as well- mango smoothie, frozen hot chocolate, strawberry banana smoothie, mochachino and the macchiato- all were yummy and would recommend! The teen boy working there was friendly and attentive but looked nervous and I soon came to realize why! The owner's father should NOT be working at the restaurant! He is an actual liability. The way he treated the teen employee was appalling. The boy endured verbal abuse from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. I had my three children with me and they saw me boiling with anger. I wanted so badly to say something but bit my tongue. Finally, I had to call the young employee over to speak with him to make sure he was okay. I wish I had a job to offer him because I wanted to walk him out of there with us! The old man did give my son a free donut because of a minor mess up (forgetting one meal-which was NO big deal and we did not complain.) I simply asked the teen if he could check on the meal and he did. I felt awful after because he then got reprimanded by the old man to "never go in the back and to not disturb the cooks." I overheard the old man telling a customer that she should have ordered online -several times. She replied. "Yup, I got it." I heard him tell another customer that this COVID stuff is so hard. He has to limit customers due to "your governor." The owner was in the back cooking but came up front for a few minutes. I was observing everything at this point and he seems relatively friendly. I want this business to succeed - the food is worth it- the atmosphere inside is cute- but I would NEVER sit inside again. Never! To listen to the old man abuse employees and customers... nope! My husband and I stopped into Eggs & Co after finding it on Yelp. The owner was pleasant, the service was prompt and the food was delish. Was happy to see a Greek salad with gyro and homemade dressing. We look forward to going back and trying their breakfast menu next time.

Okay, easy review. Best salad of 2023 for me! Chicken salad (made fresh daily) over lettuce, pepper's, kalamata olives, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes.. all fresh. I split this and had half for lunch and half for dinner. So good. I can't wait to be back.

This business is a diamond in the rough. We have been looking for restaurant in the area that can be our go-to for a long while and we finally found it. The father (John) and son (Mark) that own the business are extremely warm and friendly and right up our alley. Reminds us of being at a family gathering. The food is top notch and you will not find anything better in any of the surrounding cities. We have looked and failed. Don't pass this restaurant up if you are in search of a place to eat.

Ok, third time going here. I have to say after trying out breakfast places, this is the best quality, variety and live the ability to order online. Something got everyone here. Good portions to satisfy your hunger. Getting hungry trying this. Sorry no pics of other items that my family devoured. A favorite is ghetto breakfast burrito that everyone talks about here.

Owner was disrespectful and rude. The employees do not wear masks, but are quick to yell at customers for getting to close to each other.

If I could give a half star I would. Service and atmosphere is half of what makes breakfast great. This was not great.

The dining room was empty as we came early, and it looked beautiful. The entire restaurant, to the eye, is absolutely a vibe. There was one server on shift at the time and she was very nice and welcoming. We had very high hopes for the meal to come. We were fairly disappointed. It was during a brunch service. Initially ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Yes, calamari as a brunch app is kind of strange however since it was available I ordered it. I typically order this wherever I go, because I execution-wise, it's not the easiest thing to prepare correctly. This app was tiny, as in the serving size. Additionally the calamari itself was super small as well. No nice meaty rings. No crispy tentacles. Just a greasy mess. The dish purports the dipping sauce to be that of a fra diavolo, it was not. It was more like a marinara with chunky bits of aromatics and perhaps a bit of crushed red pepper. It was also very pricey given everything. Even if it were perfect, still on the pricey side. At the same time my daughter ordered French toast. For $18. We are talking $6 a slice of brioche. Wild business, that. As mains, my wife ordered the avocado toast. Which she actually seemed to enjoy, although the bread was soggy, and the other items on the plate severely lacking. I ordered the "lobster" cake eggs Benedict. If this was lobster, then I'm the Mother Theresa. It was, by my palate overly processed canned crab meat. At best, overly processed lobster meat, but I highly doubt that given the taste, color, and texture. The CRAB cake itself was meh, the accompanying potato hash was okay, and the hollandaise sauce was passable if not good. We ordered drinks as well. My lemon drop martinis were pretty good. My wife was dissatisfied with her margarita, then ordered a dirty martini that was okay. We walked out with a tab of nearly $200. To say it was worth the money would be absurd. I hate to be so blatantly honest with this review, but this experience (food and drink-wise) was not one I would recommend.

It's that good. Food quality/price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is classic family friendly diner. I stopped here after I just happened to pass by while headed to a friends house and decided I could eat some breakfast. I'm very happy that I did. The place was bustling on a Saturday morning and I was probably lucky to get a seat at the counter. By the time I had finished breakfast, there was a waiting line out the door which is always a good sign. The owner and Griddle Master, Peter, and his wife Stephanie, have operated this diner at this location for more than thirty years! I had the breakfast special of two eggs, HOMEMADE CORNED BEEF HASH (like striking gold), homefries, and bakery fresh rye toast - incredible! Probably the best breakfast I've had in years, seriously. The corned beef hash was properly crispy, as were the homefries, which rarely occurs at most diners even when requested. There were at least five people keeping the customers happy, and the staff and customers were all friendly and talkative. That is a bonus found only in small country towns like Southbury, a small New England postcard quality town right off Interstate 84 exit 15. If you're looking for a truly old time experience that is rare these days, run here as soon as you can. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed! I will be bringing the wife back very soon. Closed Mondays.
