Sweet and Sour chicken.
Cor V.

I can't help it. Egg Roll King is just one of our favorites. We must do it as often as possible and I really don't have to do a review each time. I know it is always a foodie experience when we go. But today was special and the craving was overwhelming.... thus we entered and were immediately recognized by mr Tom. He insisted we sit comfortably by the large aquarium. The lovely missus has her favorite sweet and sour dish with Chicken and my roving eyes stopped at the Chicken Chop Suey dinner. We also wanted a to-go order of Bean Curd and Vegetables for the grand daughter. I need to write that the sweet and sour chicken was fantastic. A thick sauce that is second to none and battered chicken pieces that filled the plate with carrots and pineapple. She enjoyed this and it was enough to have the leftover put into a container. I enjoyed the fresh broccoli and Bean Sprouts and the tender chicken in a stir-fried fashioned soya sauce. Put that on top of white fluffy rice and you've got a great tasting dish. No complaints, only happiness. The service was wonderful and we had the to-go bags readied. Dining in at Egg Roll King was a great choice.

We have a confession to make. Rather uncomfortable. We have lived within walking distance of this joint for as long as it has existed and only recently gave it a go. Embarrassing, yet cleansing and cathartic. We got: Veggie egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Mu Shu Pork. Kung Pao Chicken. Honey walnut shrimp. Egg Fried Rice. Chicken Chow Mein. They start you off with a plate of fried noodles...think Chinese chips and salsa. Shoyu at table, sweet and sour sauce provided, hot mustard upon request, the ubiquitous Sriracha also on table. Yeah, we weren't shy. All of it was tasty. We bagged about half of it to go. Large portions. Small place with just about half dozen tables. Very bustling take out scene. Excellent value for the amount of food you get. And, the service was great. You will not leave here hungry. The amount of food they crank out for takeout and sitdown orders is impressive.

Egg Roll King is so cute. It is not huge. Parking is easy. The prices are great. You can get egg rolls for as little as 3$ for 2 chicken ones. Yummy. We try to dine there, but we also deliver when we are in a hotel nearby or we do take away. All are great. The food comes fresh, hot and as ordered. The service is very nice and they are good with kids. You will like them. We just love their egg rolls and get them all whenever we are there, we just take the rest with us. They are great the next day. They have, Vegetable Egg Rolls (2) Chicken Egg Rolls, Pork Fried Wontons, Cream Cheese Wantons (not for me usually) and Fried Dumplings egg rolls. All are great. They also have wonderful fried rice and have a good selection. We love all their food. Their Kung Pu Shrimp is great. All of the main courses are very good. And again, super reasonable prices and great service.

I had an excellent dinner here with immediate family members. Vegetable Egg Rolls were moist inside and very good. A Small Hot & Sour Soup was excellent, with the caps of Button Mushroom bobbing on top, tofu, egg, and broth that had the perfect blend of sweet and sour notes. Fried Pork Dumplings were small but nicely constructed and very good in taste dipped in Plum Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Hot Chili Oil. While others at my table split a Large Won Ton Soup and enjoyed extensive Mu Chu Chicken Wraps and House Special Chicken with Broccoli, Diane addressed her well-constructed and sweet Honey Walnut Shrimp, and I concentrated my attention on Shrimp in Lobster Sauce and Kung Pao Three Flavors (Beef, Chicken and Shrimp). Everything was tasty and washed down with Hot Tea. We had a veritable Chinese feast. Service was attentive and responsive, and our reserved table for six in front of the aquarium was quite comfortable. This was probably our best experience here!

It's almost 8p and my go-to for Chinese was already closed. I frequent Yelp so naturally I searched for the best reviewed local Chinese food and decided to give Egg Roll King a shot. The reviews and pictures looked too good not to. I tried to call in an order, but no one answered the phone on my multiple dials. My bestie and I decided to take a drive to order in person. Egg Roll King is in the Stater Bros shopping center & to the right of Golden Spoon. There is plenty of parking for such a small establishment. Just a few tables inside and loved the nice saltwater tank by the register. A nice gentleman took our order and was appreciative when I left a tip on the receipt. It was a 20 minute wait for takeout which was great! We get home and start mowing down the Orange Chicken, House Special Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Shrimp and 2 egg rolls. Right away, I knew it wasn't a meal I could enjoy. The orange chicken had the flavor, but the meat was indescribable. It was like eating cardboard. The shrimp wasn't edible either. And finally, the egg roll. It had a crispy outer shell which was great, but the inside was all soggy & gooey. I'm not usually one to throw food out bc I hate being wasteful. I couldn't do it. Not to mention the runs immediately afterwards. Yelpers, I'm so sorry but you've definitely got this one wrong. I can confidently say this was my first let down from you. I definitely don't understand the high ratings you give this place. Five stars for service, but one star for the food.

Amazing Food & Amazing Service!! I stopped by the new Shake Shack, but it was so packed, so we decided to explore other nearby options and stumbled upon Egg Roll King that is in the same parking lot. I've been on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant since moving to Huntington Beach, and as soon as I saw the classic Chinese Zodiac placemats, I knew we were in for something special! Egg Roll King did not disappoint. The food was incredible, and as a family of six, we were thrilled with how affordable everything was. We ordered Mu-Shu Pork, Orange Peel Chicken, Veggie Chow Mein, and Mongolian Beef, and each dish was perfection. I wouldn't change a single thing. Having eaten at some top-tier places in LA, I can confidently say that Egg Roll King has earned a spot in my top 5 Chinese restaurants of all time. This place is a hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back!

They give you the option of either a 4oz or 6oz, priced at $34 and $49. It's a Connecticut style roll made with buttered lobster on a toasted brioche bun. It also comes with a side of fries and you can choose your choice of seasoning, "Chef's way" or "Maine style." The roll is pretty expensive but honestly worth it in my opinion because of how much lobster they pack into it. The brioche bread was perfectly toasted. The lobster was fresh and buttery without making the bread soggy, even after pouring extra melted butter on top. This is definitely the best lobster roll I've had.

He then claimed that it was my father's responsibility to contact InKind about this issue and that it was our problem??? No accountability at all from the manager. Grow up. The food is pretty good. Our waitress was also great. But there are major issues besides that.

First off, the food is incredible: * I ordered the Mardi Gras Pasta (shrimp, andouille sausage, chicken, mushrooms in a marinara cream sauce) and it was SO flavorful, rich, and perfectly balanced * I also tried the Pernod Shrimp Pasta, which was lighter but still packed with flavor from the garlic, basil, white wine, and tomatoes * I also got to try some of my friend's seafood boil and it was delicious! Super flavorful without being overwhelming, which I really appreciated * I have to talk about the beignets... because WOW! They were better than Disneyland's (lol). Perfectly soft, warm, and just chef's kiss You can really tell everything is made fresh and with care. Portions were super filling and the presentation was honestly gorgeous! We had a group of 12 people and we booked their special events room and it was SUCH a fun experience. It had karaoke, TVs, a pool table, and a super cute backdrop! It was perfect for a group hangout or celebration. What made the night even more special was celebrating my birthday there! The team surprised me with a dessert (ice cream with fried bananas!) which was such a sweet and memorable touch. The vibe and ambiance overall was amazing! I'd 100% recommend this place for a group dinner or romantic date night to have your boyfriend peel your shrimps for you LOL. Service was outstanding, especially considering how busy it was. Huge shoutout to Christian, Nathan, Nathan, and Christine for taking such great care of our big group. They were all so friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Yes, the wait was a bit longer since it was a busy night, but honestly the quality of the food and service made it completely worth it. You can really feel the love behind this place being family-owned, and it shows in both the food and the service! I walked up to the hostess podium and I was ignored. Then I said that I was checking in for 5:30p reservations and the hostess said " that's gonna be much later than. I'll probably get your party in closer to 6:30p." Obviously I was upset by this response since we drove over an hour to this restaurant for the sole purpose of a celebration of life. If reservations were going to be ignored then I would not have bothered making them in a timely matter as I was instructed to do by the organizer of the evening. I basically got the brush off like there was nothing they could do since people were not leaving (including walk-ins) after a 90 min dining limit was posted outside. I was very peeved about this response and said clearly that is not my problem yet I am being penalized. My first encounter with the hostess carried throughout my visit. Our servers name was Linda and she took our drink order as soon as we were seated, however it did seem to take a while for our drinks to arrive. Apologies were made again for the wait but at this point it was clear there was gonna be an issue throughout the meal. I ordered a Caprese salad with brussels sprouts to share family style .When my salad arrived there was no basil. It was just mozzarella and tomatoes, balsamic and olive oil with a dried herb sprinkled on top. When I asked my server if this is how the Caprese is served she said yes. I never had a Caprese with no leaves of basil. Needless to say it's not what I wanted nor expected. My sprouts were dry and overcooked. Linda was truly trying to be accommodating. I could tell she is working very hard to satisfy our group despite the fact the restaurant was packed. Linda was great. We decided to share key lime pie and the warm butter cake w/ ice cream and raspberry sauce. The key lime pie was fine. The warm butter cake was a bit different as it had a hard sugar top. Ice cream with raspberry sauce on the side as well as below. It was too much sauce for my taste. More like a jelly doughnut. My blueberry pomegranate margarita was the best part of my meal. There were so many things that may seem small but were enhanced because I was already upset. The fact the restaurant overly committed and couldn't handle the amount of people was a real issue.

There's patio seating that overlooks the ocean and additional seating right outside of the restaurant in the food hall. The ordering process is simple; if you order a poke bowl, you would fill out a piece of paper indicating your base, choice of poke, toppings, and sauce, and you hand it to the cashier. They have a display of the fish that they offer which helps if you are deciding what to choose. Service is friendly and efficient. I ordered a poke bowl with white rice, 1/4 lb of salmon, 4 toppings (crunchy chili garlic, furikake, pickled ginger, and seaweed salad), and Tommy sauce. The rice was cooked fine and wasn't mushy. However, I think that the salmon was a bit mushy and not as fresh as I hoped. 1/4 lb of salmon is pretty generous though and was a good amount of fish. The toppings were fresh--I just wished that I hadn't gotten the crunchy chili garlic. Wasn't bad, but didn't elevate my poke bowl how I wanted. Also wished that I could have chosen more toppings. The Tommy sauce is their special sauce that's like mayo and is quite flavorful. The poke bowl is on the pricier end, so I probably wouldn't get that if I were to come back but would probably try a burrito instead.
