Each week I take Mom & my wonderful wife out for breakfast. We had been going to the same old place week after week. Last month we decided that each week would be something new. After throwing darts at the wall, we hit Egg Haven, so glad we did. Walking in you could just tell that Egg Haven was a family run business that cares about their community. I think half the town is employed there. So much staff. Very little wait before our drink order was taken. After ordering food, I was surprised at how fast the food arrived cooked to order. All I can say it wow this place really impressed me, mom, and my wonderful wife! If you live in Winter Haven or in the surrounding 1000 mile radius you have to stop in for breakfast. A must try, try, and try again. Reasonable priced, great friendly staff, and excellent food. Enjoy! read more

Packed on a Sunday morning but they always seemed to be able to find a seat! Very pleasant Diner atmosphere . Shared the Breakfast from Haven and it was plenty to split. 2 perfectly cooked eggs, sausage ( choice of links or patty), bacon, and potatoes ( choice of shredded or cubed), and a beautiful biscuit with gravy . We asked them to cover everything with cheese and they happily did so. It is bustling but service was efficient and everyone looked happy to be there! read more

Everything here was great. Busy as could be but was promptly seated, my drinks were at the table within a couple minutes, food ordered a couple minutes after that, and it only took about 5 minutes to be served to us. The food was awesome, the biscuit was really good, the server was very nice and so was everyone else. Very fair menu prices too! read more

I am going to be honest. I keep coming back to this place for two things: great waffles and amazing loaded cheese grits! I've brought friends and family here. They don't share my tastes, but I have sampled their food, and it's good too! I've never had a bad experience here. Pros: 1. They have amazing loaded cheese grits! I wish I could make them as well, but I can't duplicate them. 2. The waffles are loaded too. I get the strawberries and whipped cream and then add maple syrup to top it off! 3. They have ample seating. You won't usually have to wait long for a seat. 4. They have reasonable prices. It's not the least expensive diner, but it's one of the best for portions and good home cooking! Cons: 1. Parking can be challenging sometimes, but if you've got to walk, it's worth it. 2. The tables are very close to one another. You won't be bumping the party next to you, but it's still cramped. If you're using a walker, you may have to wait for a table near the door. 3. When it's busy, you may have to wait a minute for a server to get to you, but the service is helpful and friendly. 4. It's a diner, and while it's clean and nice, it is still a diner. It's not a great place for large parties or if you're in a major hurry. Overall, I'm happy there. It's a cute place with personality and with plenty of servers working tables. They seem happy too, which is always a good sign! read more

Egg Haven was simply that!! Let me keep it short and sweet. This mom and pop restaurant is packing a punch. The service was great, the food came out super quick. The quality of the food was grade A. The pancakes were fluffy and perfectly golden down. The home fries were crispy but soft in the middle. The eggs were dare i say heavenly. If you're looking for something different and yummy. One of my favorite breakfast spots in Winter Haven, if not THE best in Winter Haven. A mom-and-pop, small business screams the community-oriented mindset of Winter Haven and Egg Haven truly captures that. I personally recommend anything with eggs, but I love their salads. Both the Ceasar and gyro salad have great flavor for a good size. I highly suggest stopping but remember they are highly popular and may have a small wait. If your looking for breakfast up until late lunch, look no further. read more

Some of the friendliest staff I have met in a very long time. I sat at the counter so I caught a lot of the employee banter and enjoyed their joking manner. My breakfast was perfect. Yes I said it-perfect. Hot delicious and could have asked for more but I must watch my girlish figure. As my dad, mom and I (plus my 2 nephews) we're walking up, the door was immediately opened by one of the workers. (I should have gotten names). There was a 6 top that just opened up so a male who looks like the owner told us to sit down. Mind you.. this place is packedddd. The customer service was phenomenal. Now let's get to the food. I got an omelette, my dad got a combination and so did my moms. My nephews got a side of bacon. Our waitress was beyond amazing (like I said, I should have remembered names). I needed a tea refill, it happened immediately. I will reiterate that this place was packedddd. Not a an open table in sight. And service was this good. You can't find it anywhere. I salute you guys for everything you're doing and continue to do. My family and I are from south Florida (broward) and we're visiting. This is a tiny spot located close to downtown Winter Haven. Seating is very limited so I do not recommend large crowds. However, it is a great breakfast-brunch spot that serves pretty tasting food items with flavor that range from famous omelets to pancakes to steak and bacon. While I highly recommend for a quick bite to eat on the week day, it can be rather crowded on the weekend and it closes at 2:30 P.M. Parking is tight but there is street parking available. The waiter service was great today. Our waiter was personable, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I was appreciative of him bringing the adults' attention to the kids menu and making sure the kids food came out before the adults. I highly recommend and it will remain one of my favorite restaurant choices for breakfast. read more

They go by cup on ice cream and not scoops. So a small cup they can give you 2 flavors if you want. I take advantage of this so I can try the array of favors that they do offer. The spcial flavors today was Key lime and Pistachio but they sold out. The other small cup was their homemade fruit sherbet which I chose watermelon and 1/2 coconut ice cream. So the ice creams were ok. The coconut stood out the most. The watermelon sherbet was refreshing but tad too sweet for me. I would probably go for the coconut again because it had shreds of coconut in it. Ordered the Chili Cheese Fries and for $4.95 it was a large amount very cheesey and full of chili with beans however it needed more salt to taste. I would def order this again. Tap water even with lemon still tasted "tap" so just be mindful. Service here was ok - but the girls do hustle and bustle.

However I think I threw my server for a loop, at least based in her reaction, when I said no ketchup on my burger. I was a bit overwhelmed by the attention paid to everyone. Someone would circle the seating area checking on everyone. As soon as they were done, someone else would make the circle. As soon as they were done, someone else. Goodness it was so overwhelming. I could barely get a bite in before some else asked how it was. Relax, let me enjoy it. My only negative, they are cash only. I looked around and did not see that posted anywhere. Thank goodness I had just enough cash to pay.

They have an extensive menu and bring fresh biscuits with flavored butters (vanilla cinnamon and banana strawberry!) to start your meal. We split the garlic-breaded cheese curds for an appetizer, and I had the southern chicken salad while my husband had a cheeseburger and fries. We both agreed that The Pantry does classics well, and we'll be back to try other tasty menu items. Add to the good food that our server, Victoria, was friendly and shared how much she enjoys working with the team and the owner, David.
