We were visiting London on a girls trip and Egg Break was on our list for brunch. Here are my thoughts: Location: Very cute! I love that it reminds me of a townhouse or a brownstone. Service: We only waited for about 15 minutes and the service was good, we never waited or had to search for someone to help us. Food: The food was delicious! I wanted to try everything but I had the eggs benedict and my friend had the sandwich (Cant remember the name) Fav thing: The entire experience was great wish we had one in the states. Least fav: I don't really have anything that is the least favorite I would go back if I was in London...

Egg Break puts the L in London. I really don't understand the hype around this place. The food looks better than it tastes, and calling the food "mid" would be a compliment. Needless to say, the food is not worth a two-hour wait plus another hour wait for food after ordering. The avocado toast was basic, and the eggs were cold. The toastie looks like it should be amazing, but it's somehow bland and not nearly as melty as it looks like on social media. The bacon on the toastie wasn't crispy, and neither was the toasted lukewarm bread. The tater tots had no salt on them and were basically flavorless. The servers were friendly, and the place is cute. Those are the only bright spots for an overall disappointing meal.

My wife chose this on our way to Portebello Rd. We came shortly after it opened and we did not have to wait as there were no queue (yet). So maybe come early if you want to avoid the queue. Anyways, I like the ambiance and everything felt very homely. I ordered the egg bacon cheese toastie and it was very good. The flat white was enjoyable too. Staff were friendly and the whole place was clean and well kept. I would definitely come back for breakfast and try their other offerings.

We absolutely love Egg Break - so much so that we went two days in a row to try more of the menu! The Turkish Eggs were ordered both days - and the French Toast with hot honey and za'atar was excellent (as was the shakshuka). Every person who helped our table was great - friendly, with great recommendations after asking more about us to ensure we would get something WE would like. I would recommend Egg Break to anyone and can't wait to return on our next trip!

I dream about this food. Coming back to London soon and this is the first restaurant on my list, taking my friends to try it!!!

Tiny little hole in the wall spot that has delicious breakfast! We were visiting from the USA & as much as we enjoy a pastry on the go-- we truly love our breakfast. Egg Breaks service was fast and efficient and their breakfast was appealing to look at, but even more enjoyable to eat!

This place was great. The atmosphere is cute, the wait time was short, service was fast and personable, and the food was amazing. It's in a pretty location as well.

We waited more than two hours to get a seat. They use one of those virtual queue app for getting things organized but you have to be close to the location to join the queue and you'll need to find a place to wait. But where to you even go when you have to wait 2 hours? And even when the app tells us that there's table for us, we still have to wait 15min to be seated.. I mean the staffs really tried to make it as easy as possible for you but honestly it's too long of a wait. And if you think you can go in odd hours so there's not too many people? Nope. They are busy the WHOLE DAY. Ok enough about the wait. The staff is relatively friendly considering they are really busy with all the people. The food is good but just like others say, it's a bit expensive for the amount you get. Spicy honey toast - the honey adds a level of depth to it but it really isn't anything special Avocado toast - just your good o trusty avo toast.

Wow. I cannot recommend a place more than Egg Break. You MUST try the cheese toasty, there's no other option when you go your first time. The upstairs space is a little small but there's space downstairs and the menu is full of so many amazing things. I split two dishes with a friend so we could try them both and wow I loved them. I could eat that Cheese Toasty any day. Cannot wait to go back and get it again.

Lovely brunch spot in Notting Hill. We had to wait 30 minutes to sit, but it was a great excuse to explore the area. The place and staff had the best vibes! The menu is super creative and accommodating to people with dietary preferences/restrictions. The prices are on the more expensive side. I opted for the fried chicken sandwich, and OMG! My only regret was not getting two of them!

This was a lovely spot for breakfast. Essentially in a cute house with seating feeling like you're dining with friends. The food was tasty as well and the service was amazing. Our server was friendly, conversational and attentive. Would definitely go back here for breakfast, but be aware the queue can get long on a weekend morning.

The ambience and food were to die for and the service was top notch! We had Sherwin as our server and he was attentive and hilarious, but the vibe in the whole place (and amongst the staff) was vibrant. Then we got the food and were blown away! If we were spending more time in London we would go back everyday! Highly recommend!

So make sure and have napkins handy. My husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich while I had the cheeseburger for breakfast since the "slut" specialty sandwich wasn't available. My husband said his sandwich reminded him of one his mom used to make at home growing up, which is a lovely sign. Mine was a slightly above an average burger with a touch of dijonnaise and pickles. We also had a side of the truffle hash browns and they were great! Just a classic, crispy hash brown with a hint of truffle flavor. I hope to try another sandwich before my trip ends. Things were looking promising when I saw a vegetarian breakfast offered in lieu of the traditional English breakfast. I was drawn to the dish because it offered spinach and hash browns in lieu of all the meat in its partner dish. My friend ordered the regular Full English and her dish came out well before mine. I waited roughly 10-15 minutes longer for something that would appear to take less cook time. The plate came out and I noticed there was no spinach. I was not offered a choice as a substitute nor made aware of the situation. Long story short I ended up ordering the Full English and they forgot my black pudding. Waited additional time for that as well. Then they forgot I asked for the bill. Overall, I would not recommend it, especially if you're on a time schedule and multiple mishaps occurred. No cash accepted and 12.5% service charge automatically added to the final bill with the usual VAT.

We're quite proud of our coffee scene, and Butter Bakery could beat out most of the options in Portland. I had an oat milk latte and an americano, plus a few food items. Let's start with the americano. Now, I'll admit, I'm not the most skilled barista. I have some sense of how to pull a shot of espresso, but I'm not brilliant at it. With that as context: I do not exaggerate when I say there was more of that delicious creamy head on the americano than I've managed on some straight shots I've pulled. The espresso roast was subtle and sweet -- I waited too long to write this review, so I couldn't cite precise notes, but this is definitely a roast I could enjoy sipping on and slowly analyzing, while still being very approachable. The americano was perhaps a tiny hair more diluted than I would have liked, but it didn't quite reach "watery" either. I choose to see this as a deliberate choice to further open up the profile of the espresso. The oat latte was expertly foamed, with the right amount of oat milk so as not to overwhelm the espresso. It was on the dry side, almost a cappuccino, which is exactly what I prefer in a latte (if I wanted a cortado, I'd ask for a cortado). I don't know which oat milk they use, but it was sweet and creamy and simple and complemented the espresso beautifully. There's also a food menu that, while not hugely extensive, is packed full of gems. I very much enjoyed the pesto mozzarella tomato panini with extremely its fresh ingredients. It's about the size you'd expect for a cafe panini, and thus a bit more expensive than I'm comfortable with, but I'll chalk that up to the location -- compared with other local options, Butter Bakery Bar and Cafe is absolutely a contender for a budget lunch. Lastly, I'll just mention: I did not try the Mediterranean mains options, so I can't speak to their quality, but seeing things like mezze on a cafe menu is a nice change of pace.
