Great hearty and inexpensive breakfast !!! This place is delicious I usually have to season my food NOT here everything was perfect needed nothing. Huge portions as noted below in the picture. Service is great, nice quiet embracing diner.

Great service and tasty treats. Our waitress was great and so was the food. It's tucked away in an industrial area, so it can be a little difficult to find, but other than that, it was great. We got the Cretan skillet and the Nutella French toast. Both were great

Breakfast was average. The taste of eggs were a little off. The butter or oil used on hash brown tasted stale. The silverware was stored right next to the washroom they should find a better place for it.

A friend picked this cute gem to meet for breakfast, ordered a couple things off the menu and and we split it. Let me just say, it was all very good. This place is great and would highly recommend it if you're around the neighborhood. I'll definitely be back.

This place is the best breakfast lunch place in the area. Today I ordered the tilapia taco special. Best tacos ever. The chef here makes the best food around. All the soups are homemade everyday. I have been to this place many many times and I've never had a bad meal. The staff is friendly, the service is great. I highly recommend this place.

Awesome breakfast. I tried the biscuits and gravy with eggs on top, the monkey crunch toast, the California Benny plate. All of it was sooo delicious! I'm coming back here for sure when I'm in town.

Overcooked Classic Benny (eggs Benedict)

First time trying this place we ordered out they forgot my two orders of toast that came with the breakfast meal and a side of corned beef hash. The sausages were black and burnt dry. The eggs Benedict had overcooked eggs. Overall it's the first and the last time coming here. I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking they might have been busy but when I picked up the order there was only two tables with costumers.

Chipotle burger, and they even customized the chilaquiles to include all my favorite ingredients!

Little place with lots of heart and FLAVOR. The service is great (shoutout to our waitress breanna who is very attentive). The chipotle burger always hits the spot, the chipotle doesn't overwhelm the burger, you can still taste the flavor of meat and all the ingredients. The chilaquiles are always done to my liking. I love them soggy with sour cream, meat, and onion. Please do yourself a favor and eat here at least once, your palette will thank you for it.

This is usually one of my go to breakfast spots, however I was recently disappointed in the service and the food. The servers are usually very attentive and welcoming, but they seemed off on my visit. They weren't really warm or friendly (except one), who was on her way out the door. It wasn't really packed when I went in with my children, so I couldn't grasp the disconnect. With that being said, is there a new chef?! I was highly upset with my food. I ordered just fries for my toddler which weren't burnt! Even my chilaques were burnt as well. For nearly 40.00 worth of food I could have probably just opted for McDonald's at a cheaper value. I think they need to take better pride in what they are serving and should ask "would I want to eat this?" I'm not saying I won't try them again, because they do have good food when made right... I'm just saying this experience wasn't a great one.

Sorry, no pic....food was very good and we were hungry. Nice, clean place. Good food, good service. We had omelettes and pancakes, both very good. Food cane quickly, coffee was rich, can't go wrong for the price too. Nice friendly service.....we will be back. read more

Pretty awesome breakfast place. Very nice interior that serves up some delicious food. I had a skillet with sausage, onions and green peppers ($8) and a coffee. The service was friendly and accommodating. The food was served out fast and hot. Everything tasted great and having the TV's around the counter was nice to watch. I'm glad I made the stop here on the way to Midway airport. read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots in the area. The place is kind of in an industrial location but it shouldn't deter you from going. The chicken lemon soup is very tasty and fresh and the skillets are wonderful. I haven't ventured past a couple things on the menu. The place is somewhat small but the atmosphere is cozy. They also have some flat screens around. read more

My expirience here has always been awesome. Great food, the staff is amaze, and the atmosphere is diner elite without the Northside of Chicago prices. Don't let the area fool you this is definitely a HOT SPOT! Great Price takes a backseat to food quality and great service for me but this place has it all! read more

I'm not one to leave a negative review but I dont think anything we had was out of this world or worth coming back for. The skillet I ordered had hash browns that were undercooked and the skillet itself was a bit greasy. The grilled cheese my fiancé ordered had cheese that wasn't even melted. The food wasn't horrible but it wasn't good. I'm not sure what other people see or have had that I didn't. read more

I ordered a make your own skillet with chorizo, green peppers, onions, avocados, and tomatoes. The skillet was decent. The waitress didnt get my order correctly and I ended up with chorizo until my bf finally noticed. I also found 2 decent chunks of avocado skins my skillet, unfortunately I will not be back. That was a major turn off to find in my food. read more

This was our first time and have to say the food was excellent and service even better. The breakfast tacos are amazing, Irish skillet hearty with lean corned beef, classic eggs benny spot on and breakfast burrito very tasty. Christine is a fabulous waitress, knows the menu and very attentive. Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is very well done -nice tables, booths, big screens. We'll be back. read more

I live a block from here and since it's opened been there twice. First time was decent I guess, have small portions and i think its pricey for what you get, if your going to charge max price at lease have the quality to do so. Second was just terrible, service was decent until the server brought me my food. She acknowledged it was wrong and still but it in front of me then laughed and said let me go find your food. Food came out quite fast and now I know why, my husband had ordered a skillet and biscuits and gravy. After the disgusted look on my husband's face I took a bite of the biscuits and gravy. Gross!!! If we wanted canned gravy and frozen biscuits I could have done that at home. Wouldn't recommend this place or go back. read more

I am someone who loves breakfast. With that being said, I may be picky when it comes to eating out. Even though it's a relatively easy meal to make in comparison to dinner, in its simplicity it's also fairly easy to make it taste bad. I'd have to say this place did just that, it made breakfast taste bad. I went with my dad and he enjoyed his meal, but said it was nothing special nor enough to make him want to come back. I on the other hand, found it terrible. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with some revisions. I asked for bacon instead of the sausage patty and asked if I could have it on a bagel. The waitress told me they don't have bagels which I found a little bit strange, so I took what they had; I was starving. When the meal arrived, the English muffins were soaked like a sponge dipped in oil. It was pretty much oozing oil out by the touch. It made it so I couldn't taste the egg (which managed to get burned a little,) the cheese, nor the bacon. The best parts of my meal were the hash browns (even though they too were on the oilier side) and the coffee. Our waitress was trying to be helpful, probably noticing my facial expressions while trying to down the bites, but it was too late to make a bad thing good and I gave up on my meal. While we were paying, my dad explained to the person I believe is the manager of the place that my meal was too oily. I interpreted her response as sounding snarky and mocking. You'd think they would be more considerate in what they say and possibly discount you a little, if even a dollar, for a $7 meal that left you wanting to puke. It was enough for me to rule this place out as a go to breakfast joint. I am being very critical in this review, because I did end up getting sick after eating their food. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just an off day for the cook or I just got the crap order of the day, who knows. Others diners in the place seemed to really like it. Hopefully your experience will be better than the one I had. read more

A diamond in the rough. Literally. I was a bit suspect of a diner in this area littered with industrial facilities, but don't let the location fool you. The food is delicious, the restaurant is clean and modern, and the service was quick and attentive. I had the Nutella Surprise. This was no ordinary french toast creation that some hack chef dumped some Nutella on, this was a creation fit for the most discerning Nutella aficionado. The French toast was rolled in a crunchy layer of almonds and oats, the bananas were sliced to perfection and the layer of Nutella was complemented by the whipped cream dollops that adorned the plate. You will not be disappointed. read more

yesssssssssssss. this place makes me so happy. my husband and i found this place on yelp while looking for a place close to our house for breakfast. the reviews were right - this is our new favorite place. we've taken my mother-in-law, uncle, brother and sister and law and niece and nephew, and everyone has loved it. the food is delicious. i am obsessed with their omelettes. i actually want one right now! you can even get bloody marys from your server via the bar next door, which is awesome! read more

Such a cute little breakfast place. It's easy to look over from the outside but inside the setting is so nice. It's an intimate breakfast spot, it's quiet and has TVs so you can watch the news while you eat their delicious breakfast. I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband says their coffee is good plus they got the flavored creams. The food is also definitely worth it. I had the monte cristo sandwich and it was delicious. Tried out Egg Beater just yesterday and let me tell you it was an awesome experience. Food was outstanding, had just a simple breakfast and the portions were excellent (large but not crazy large). I will never go to this place again! I went today and we were told the kids eat free when we first walked in only to be left with a 50 bill because my husband and I were not told that they could only pick one item off the menu. Also pancakes came with my meal I didn't receive them because they ran out and Nicole the manager on duty says lets call it even!! I will never spend my time or money here again.The manager was real rude and didn't care about my family or try to accomodate for any inconvience. read more

My gf ordered a broccoli cheddar omelette. She rated the omelette as a 3/5 "ok" but stating she doesn't know how to make it more amazing so her rating is not counted. Lol My rating would be 3/5 for food. Huge portions and great food but the wrap is missing something to make it less saucy, the lettuce was find but it added to it falling apart. Either way it was amazing. The downside were the fries. Nothing special, maybe from a bag. Food and portions overall would be 4/5. Service 5/5.

I did send the black bean burrito back, cause it wasn't up to my standard of what I thought it would taste like. So if I go back, I'll probably try The. Fried rice that they have that can be vegan. This cafe would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for a major flaw. First off I ate there for the first time 6-8-14 and the food was EXCELLENT!!!!!! The turkey club was made with real turkey white meat and a generous portion of fries (crinkle cut). And the prices are reasonable! Friendly staff too! My friend ordered just a fried egg sandwich on white toast with bacon and American cheese. There was a misunderstanding on the waitresses part about what type of sandwich my friend wanted. He just wanted a single sandwich with nothing else and he ended up getting two sandwiches with a generous portion of hash browns. The manager realized the mistake and COMPED the whole sandwich which was VERY nice of her but not necessary. But here was the major flaw that really turned me off........there was another waitress working or being a food runner. She was very pleasant from what I could observe but she was wearing a sleeveless black very sheer vest with a sleeveless white blouse underneath. Her armpits were exposed and I find that to be VERY TACKY if you are serving food!!! This is a restaurant not a sports bar or night club. If you want to serve sleeveless then serve cocktails NOT food! I think the health department would have something to say if they walked in and saw her dressed liked that. But other than that it was a great meal and I will be back! But please girls wear short sleeve shirts or polos!!! read more

Despite what some "critics" might say, Egg Beater cafe in Lyons, Illinois is a great eatery. The food is well prepared. The cooks take into consideration how the customer wants their meal prepared. The portions are priced fairly and in line with other restaurants in the area. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and business. On my first visit, and following visits, all questions about the menu were answered before the meal order was written. All specials and any promotions were explained clearly, as well. I have been treated well by the wait staff (those that I have met so far are: Andrea, Chelsea, Eli, Linda, Mellisa and Sky) Manager Nicole is attentive, fair and willing to answer any and all questions pertaining to your eating experience. It is unfortunate that some customers come into a restaurant trying to abuse a good will promotion and then complain about being mistreated. read more

This is my favorite breakfast diner in the area. I have introduced a number of my friends to the joint and they all love it too. Everything we have had is delicious. Weirdly, the pancakes are even better if you take them home and eat them the next day. Although they are super light and fluffy and yummy to begin with. The waffles are so good that friends visiting from out town still bring them up. The skillets and the breakfast burrito are delicious. The wait staff is friendly and if you go back a couple of times they will remember you. The only downside is that the chorizo is super greasy on Saturdays, but not at all Sundays. So we try to plan accordingly. I'm giving this a 5 despite what I am about to say. I had lunch here once. Everything was mediocre except the soup which was gross. Go for breakfast, do not stay for lunch! read more

Amazing food, amazing service! I could not be happier with this place! I love to come here before we go to Brookfield zoo because it's a little off the beaten path but only about 5-10 away from zoo and TOTALLY worth it. Have been here multiple times now, and it is always delish. I love feta cheese and they simply have the best around. Also, every Sunday they have Cream of chicken and rice soup which is some of the best I've ever had! I would recommend asking for a half of a like to squeeze in to take it to the next level of amazing! Keep doing what your doing guys it's great! read more

Will definitely be back. Food was priced right, and good. The area looks very industrial, but get past that and go on in. They seem to be overstaffed, but that beats under! We did have a coupon, that asked for a Yelp review, that doesn't sway me one way or another. Close to home, you can go very casual, its clean and a great breakfast. What more could I want! First time at Egg Beater Cafe and it won't be my last. The staff were super-friendly, worked well together and my coffee cup did not have a chance to even get 1/4 empty before someone was offering to fill it. The place is clean and bright. I have been here a couple of time now and the place is always clean, friendly and very willing to accommodate us. The young lady hostess, Sky is a added bonus, she is always happy to see you when you walk in. I think Eggbeaters is a welcoming establishment to this small town. read more
