They showed up right on time and got right to work. They did everything quickly and pleasantly and exactly as asked; they even figured out stuff that I wouldn't have been able to explain--even though all the equipment was already here, it wasn't stuff they sold. In each case, he has helped us save money (including covering the cost of his services, which are very reasonable). What I've noticed in working with Nathanael, is that he really knows lighting... and can be super efficient with it. He understands what crazy little things called "lumens" are and he know how to use them. Yep, and he knows the color variance between the different types of lighting and how the different type of lighting products will project light. He applies his knowledge so that when the space is finished... it feels like it should in the space. Each room turns out, just right. He doesn't over light the space, spending more than is necessary, and increasing the long term operating costs, and he doesn't let something be under-lit and uninspired. If you're asking whether or not a lighting designer is worth it, I'll say in my experience, its a resounding yes. He's worth every penny.

Used him again for a different kind of job - replacing an in-wall air-conditioner. He was very good…read moreat responding to text messages, worked us in quickly, and was flexible when Home Depot delayed our order. He was also very good at fitting the new AC into the space for the old one and ensuring it was sealed and weather proofed. However, when he finished the work, he left large boxes and packing materials scattered where he opened them and filling our kitchen floor and on the dining room table. He didn't do anything to organize the mess or break down the boxes. He said most of it was recyclable and he wouldn't do anything with it. Left us to clean up after he left and figure out how to manage and get rid of these large heavy boxes. Additionally, he had put the old AC on our deck. We asked if he would recycle the old AC and he agreed - charging us an additional $200 to take it. When he put it on our deck, it left piles of black (not sure what) that we had to clean after he left. Additionally, I had purchased a new bracket to support the new air-conditioner. He decided without consulting me to use the old bracket instead. (Hopefully it last for the long run!)
