We had some noises from our eight year old, gas, forced air, heater that concerned us. First we called Service Experts; an amiable woman came, diagnosed, and offered to replace a defective part for $709, and also, to replace a part that would "soon fail", for $332; total=$1041. We agreed, but while we were waiting for the company to obtain the parts, we hired Efficient Comfort to solve our problem. Tom S. came, heard water in the inducer motor, drained some water and jostled some parts that he thought were clogged up. Done. No charge, beyond the $99 service call fee we knew about before the visit. (This was a couple of weeks ago and it still works fine.) I've only had one experience with each company, but I certainly know which one I prefer at this point, Efficient Comfort. Now, for a comment that occurred when the Efficient Comfort Repairman was leaving. Tom S. asked me to review his work on Google, if I was happy. I had already planned to rate Efficient Comfort on various platforms. He did not influence me in any way. I have walked away from contractors who offer me a special deal if I give them a good review. Our furnace was heating the house really poorly and we're about to have family visit us in Colorado from Florida. Before calling one of the big heating companies, we looked on Yelp and found Efficient Comfort based on much higher ratings and good reviews. Contacted them through Yelp Sunday morning and they got back to us that afternoon and scheduled us for Monday afternoon. Chuck came out for a clean and tune service and found the problem almost immediately, explained why it was happening, and fixed the furnace so it's heating the house way better. He gave us some tips about things to look for, ways to get better air circulation, and the best type of filter for our furnace. He's honest and direct and obviously very good at what he does. (He probably could have tried to sell me on a new furnace that we don't need yet and I wouldn't have known better.) Efficient Comfort installed an air conditioner and whole house humidifier in our home. We previously had two window swamp coolers, one on the top floor and one on the main floor (which he was so gracious to remove and haul away for us without charge). Josh did an excellent job. He relocated our furnace and water heater to do the job, and went above and beyond to make sure it was installed properly. No cutting corners here! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and professional. I took the time to get 10 (yes ten ;) quotes from local family owned and larger corporation HVAC companies. His price beat them all, and although he may have been able to do a quick job and figure out a way to make it work as some others 'pitched', he took the time to do it right and properly move my units so that the job was done correctly, even though it added hours onto his installation time. We are so thankful for Dan he was kind, honest, and professional! My furnace went out in the middle of the night, we had a different company come out early the next morning they told us that the unit needed a complete "rebuild" and there was no other option for repair, the cost would be 6k. Thank goodness we called Efficient Comfort they weren't able to come out till the next day but it was SO worth the wait. Dan looked at the unit and let us know right away that it was the igniter and could be fixed for less then $400. Dan clearly communicated our options and provided full transparency in pricing. Even through we have an older unit he has honest that this repair could easily get us a few more years giving us time to save for a new system. Our boiler & radiant heating system stopped working in the dead of winter. Josh was out next-day to diagnose and offer us quotes on repair and replacement. The office was super responsive -- even over the holidays! -- to get everything scheduled and answer all of my questions. The team got our entire heating system replaced in a single day, and gave us a very understandable rundown of what changed and how to manage the system that novices like us could understand. My partner and I wanted to learn more about our heating system and how to handle basic things ourselves, and repair people in the past have done a bad job of explaining it, so communication skills were one of our priorities in selecting a company to repair & replace it. After being told by the HVAC company servicing my home that I needed a new furnace, I called a few other companies for estimates. Dan Lewis from Efficient Comfort came to my home for that purpose. He was prompt and pleasant, and we went down to the basement to look at my furnace. Doug C. Our gas furnace went out on Christmas day 2022 and we called Efficient Comfort the next morning. They had someone out to fix it within a few hours. The repair person was courteous and professional. He seemed to know his business really well. I don't have anything to compare them to in terms of the billing, but in my mind, the fee was reasonable and fair. They kept me accurately posted as to when the repair person was likely to arrive. Earlier this summer, I had some ongoing issues with my air conditioner. It didn't work properly. Always something failing. Contacted Joanna at Efficient, and told her what was going on. I had purchased the A/C several years ago from Josh's former company. After a few conversations they decided to replace it at no charge. Best team, get the job done quickly, they obviously appreciate their employees per their social media post (which I thoroughly appreciate) It's mostly family that runs it and they're all very professional and easy to work with. Can't go wrong getting any HVAC stuff done here. Even got a great touch screen thermostat for the house and haven't had one problem since and it's been here for over a year. I highly recommend Efficient Comfort! They know how to work on new boilers/instant hot water makers that many companies don't work on. Josh and Gary are highly knowledgable about boilers and all types of heating and cooling systems. They rewired and replumbed our boiler system so it is more efficient and runs well. Another HVAC contractor gave my A/C condenser a cursory look and quoted a very high price for repair --- I think he just wanted to sell me a new unit.
