I've been using Cooper since 2021. I went through Costco to purchase a new AC and they contract with Cooper. They were amazing when they did the install and I've been happy with their preventative maintenance services. I recently used them for a plumbing service and had Mirwais out to complete the job. It was a big job that took all day. Mirwais and Eric were professional and communicated everything they were doing throughout the day. Warning: Only use Cooper if you want a horrible experience!! I began using Cooper in 2024. They sold me a Green Club Maintenance program for $360 yearly saying you can skip to the front of the line during emergencies and save on repairs. I later found this is a scam they use. They performed a condenser Electrical renovation for $1608.63 and installed a humidifier for $1698. Their work was done poorly and they forgot to turn on the humidifier after installation. I spoke to the manager and thought they learned from their mistakes but it was not the case. When my thermostat went out, they replaced it but forgot to hook back the AC and humidifier and took the panel off the outside unit and left it leaning against the house instead of replacing it and it snowed inside my unit all winter. When I called the manager and spoke to him, he said he would call me back with an adjustment but he never did. Several more things happened and finally I learned my lesson---they are an inferior company with unskilled technicians. They are very poor at communication and their managers are ineffective. read more

I had a furnace/ ac system installed by Cooper for Costco. Cooper installed the new system but did a poor job of installing. They installed the humidifier so that it humidifier the return air. That has caused rusting on the heat exchanger. The way they plumber the gas line is bad as well. When ai asked about getting! Tankless water heater the project manager said I cant install it because it would not work efficiently. He suggested a hybrid model. It was a unit he was selling on his own, not through Cooper. When I had problems with the unit Cooper did not know about the unit. I eventually replaced the hybrid with a tank less unit. They fired that project manager. read more

On Monday, July 20, 2026, Robert Webster installed the AprilAire filtration system on my Lennox HVAC system. The small area in my utility room made this work challenging, especially with the water heater being so close to the furnace. Robert considered three positions for installing the filter cabinet. After discussing each option with me, Robert decided on the best location that would be convenient for me to change the filter without having to bend down. With the AprilAire air cleaner that Matthew Carpenter first suggested during my spring 2026 service check, I now, after three years, have an effective and efficient HVAC system with improved air circulation and improved static pressure. Together, Matthew and Robert have corrected the poor design and installation of the original filter compartment. Robert is a professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and friendly technician. This is the second time (in three years) that I needed to call Cooper Heating and Cooling, and once again, they saved the day! My AC stopped cooling, and Erik came out for an emergency visit within an hour, arriving at 10pm. Unfortunately, I had a frozen line that needed to thaw, but he assured me I would receive a call first thing in the morning to schedule diagnostic service. Long story short- within 48 hours, my AC was up and running. I did not need a new unit, despite it being about 13 years old, Cooper Heating and Cooling got us back on track for a great price with discounts. Costco's a great place to buy expensive things. For now, Cooper sells the Lennox equipment and provides services for their members. Needing a new AC and possibly a furnace, I called Cooper. The tech/salesperson who came out left me wondering why I called. Had I done my research, I'd have found a May 2016 review almost mirroring my own lackluster experience. He seemed impatient. Most of the talking was to me, not with me. Listening to a customer matters. Promised a quote by day's end on Thursday. I got it on Saturday afternoon after some prompting. He pushed heat pumps and promised rebates would make the cost acceptable. Nope. Even so, I had heard that funding for the rebates will run out soon, so I asked. I could almost feel the annoyance in an answer worthy of elected office. Despite his clearly strong experience and knowledge, I did not feel comfortable with the tech and passed on the best price offered me for a Lennox AC. Oddly, I got automated texts asking me how the project went before I got an estimate. Keystone Cop stuff. It did not inspire confidence. Hard pass. The price was tempting, but I felt as valued as a used kleenex in our interactions. I'd give two stars for the pricing offered me for an AC unit alone (via Costco gift card), but overall, one star. Cooper installed our HVAC system about 9 years ago. We bought the annual maintenance agreement for which we get a testing and cleaning of both heat and AC....Last week it was time of the AC test. Mario is a nice, polite and well versed serviceman. During the inspection he mentioned the capacitor was "reading low" and he recommended I replace it. I looked it up on google and it suggested the price of the part was about $25. Now mind you, I had no trip cost, as he was already on premises for the annual service. He quoted $500 and change. I was shocked and he then went to to say that I really should install a "Turbo Capacitor" and "UPGRADE THE ELECTRONICS. for a total cost of $702. They confirmed that the price is fixed - I felt under the gun. He was already here, trip fare was paid so I figured to approve the install and challenge the number with the office. He then told me that the insulation was warn, so he needed to replace, not urgent, but needed. About 18" of foam insulation....price $209....FOR 18" of cheap, off the shelf insulation that probably costs under $1....and he was already at my place. After a lot of back and forth, he "threw in" the foam. I called the office and explained my shock at the price and was told they bill at $400/hr labor plus parts. Even with trhat exorbitant hourly rate, he hardly worked for 45 minutes to do all the work, so I asked for a breakdown of parts and labor. Was told they work on fixed pricing with no breakdown. I have been a satisfied customer and find their technicians to be able and polite. On their website I gave them a 4 star review thing I would be able to put some of this story but there was no such opportunity. I hate feeling that every time something needs repair, you have to guard against being taken advantage of. I thought I had a trusting relationship with them, and am disappointed to find out that is not the case. read more

In March of 2026 we had various plumbing repairs performed by Cooper Plumbing. After the repairs we printed the invoice sent to us from them and had a few questions regarding specific charges, rates and fees. We have called repeatedly over the last few months to have someone call us back to answer our questions and have never received a call back. I went through Costco, got a great price and rebates via costco gift cards and they installed top of the line Lennox furnace and AC. My last Lennox AC unit lasted 30 years. They installed a Lennox HVAC system into my home. The thermostat went out and can only be replaced by another Lennox thermostat. $650 just for the part which is not available other than via online and takes 3-4 days to get. I'm sure Cooper had it in stock, but they couldn't get me scheduled for over a week and in the meantime my house is 40 degrees. The said they could get me in sooner but would charge me extra for an after-hours visit. Terrible follow up service after the investment made into this system. They sell themselves as a local company that cares. BS! read more

3.5 stars. Cooper is really price competitive compared to many of the other similar plumber HVAC companies. Throw in the fact that Costco refereed them for furnace replacement ( they have a deal where you purchase from Cooper and you get a gift card that makes the deal really good). My only issues are that our estimator overestimated the tonage of the blowers and had to come back 2-3 times to get a smaller unit for both top and bottom floors. Not that big a deal but a hassle. When the inspector came to pass the top floor furnace he noticed the gas line was not tightened and was leaking a bit.....that is not good. Cooper made good on both. When they installed our new Water heater they marred our basement stairs but once again they made good and sent out a flooring company to repair the stairs ( of course I had to mention that my brother is a real estate attorney). But Kathi at Cooper was amazing to deal with!!! I would recommend them but I would recommend keeping an eye on your project. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. No respect for your time or your home. Made 3 different holes cuz first two were in wrong spot and they don't even bother patching it up. They're never on time. First day of install, they gave me a window between 8am-10am, they did not even call me until 10:30am & showed up closer to 11am. So that was not a full day of work. We were given a lowered estimate by taking off the additional day charge, but our final invoice said....any extra hours are a 'required charge'. Our Project Manager, Curt, took that charge off in order to get us to move forward which we have email conversations about. Signed paperwork with incorrect info because the summary page at the very end of document had the correct number from my estimate ($29,072) BUT.....the tricky part was they had another contract price that was higher that I missed. Tried to contact them about this mistake, but they said I signed a contract & threatened to turn me into collections after coming to their office to voice my concerns. Not one person would sit down with me. My price seemed to change a lot. My project manager emailed me saying "if prices changed after walk-through, it would be in the 100s, not the 1000s"....it was in the 1000s & even having the email conversations with my Project Manager apparently means nothing to Cooper Heating. They are very dishonest & their customer service is horrible. If you want people to take advantage of you & your hard earned money, then this is the place. One of the units they quoted us was on backorder, so we waited several months with the guarantee that they would have that part by then. Come to find out the day of install, that 12k unit is still not available, only the 9K. By the time I got the Project manager on the phone, the crew had already started putting holes in our house. NOT COOL! Project Manager, Curt, assured me the smaller unit would be efficient enough for the size of our house. He emailed me saying if we had issues with the smaller unit, we would be able to install the bigger unit free of charge. I had to ask him to rewrite his email, because his email was incorrect, which took almost a month to receive after install. (There seems to be a pattern of incorrect info). Their electrician had to come back, because the work he did was not going to pass inspection. More trickery, because they gave us another Electric bill AFTER signed invoiced when installation was completed. Signed invoice was ($31,008) but then magically I owe them more for electric....that number turned into ($31,837). The inconsistency is everywhere. Install Manager, Reza, shook my hand & looked me in the face as he told me he leveled out our installation because we just had it installed. That was unfortunately not true, they had to send another company to come out & fix our broken attic hatch & to level out our installation. MAKE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION TO EVERY LITTLE DETAIL CUZ THEY WILL MAKE A MISTAKE AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!!! Please look at my paperwork I have pictured because there are obvious errors BUT, Cooper WILL NOT take ownership for their mistakes. $29,072.00(2nd estimate and on Costco Contract, page 4 in summary). BUT because they put $31,997 as their contract price on line 3, page 1, THAT is what I supposedly owe them for. Who cares what the final invoice might be, turns out Cooper has it all priced out before they even do the installation work!!!! WTF!!!! So, I owed them $31,997 - 160 for the parts change. Never mind the difference in some of the materials they quoted us! Another scam, they will use less than they quoted and you will have to pay whatever the bigger number is. (Another pattern to pay attention to, RIDICULOUS!!) PAY ATTENTION CUZ THEY DON'T!!!! TAKING FEES AWAY TO GET A BETTER ESTIMATE TO ONLY BE PUT BACK ON THE FINAL INVOICE IS NOT AN HONEST WAY OF DOING BUSINESS. read more

I purchased a spring tune up special advertised by Cooper Heating and Cooling just to have my air conditioner inspected in a rental condo. Both the furnace and the airconditioner had been working perfectly well, but, this was a preventative measure. The technician arrived and took apart the furnace. He claimed the capacitor was deteriorating. It was a 5 amp. He did not have a 5 amp on his truck so he said he would put in in 15 amp. Later that evening when we turned on the a/c it did not work. So, the next day I called Cooper and another technician arrived. He said the first tech did not connect the capacitor correctly and the fan was not running causing the a/c coils to freeze up. He ran the fan and furnace and said to let it run to thaw the coils. Later he called me to say you better check it as there may be lots of water from the thawing coils. So, I ran over to look and sure enough, the furnace room was flooded with water. I cleaned up. The technician came back to check the coils and said they were thawed out and the a/c worked. However, that evening when we tried to take a shower there was no hot water as the melting coil water had flooded the water heater. I tried to get an emergency tech out to check the water heater but none were available. We finally got the water heater re-lit and got hot water. I don't want Cooper coming back again. read more

We engaged Cooper Heating & Cooling to install a new heating unit in our attic and to redo some ductwork. Unfortunately, the heating unit was installed incorrectly, resulting in multiple issues, including ceiling and drywall damage. While a portion of this damage was repaired, the remainder was left unaddressed. Despite repeated requests over several months, we ultimately had to arrange and pay for the ceiling repairs ourselves after Cooper cut into it to accommodate new ducting. The improper installation also placed undue strain on our outdoor air conditioning (AC) unit. In a split HVAC system, the attic unit (air handler) circulates air while the outdoor condenser manages the heat exchange for cooling. Two separate Cooper employees explicitly acknowledged that the incorrect installation of the heating unit had shortened the life of our AC system. In April, during a paid annual maintenance check, we were told that both units were functioning properly. However, the AC unit has failed four separate times since then. First failure: A technician attributed the problem to a shut-off valve in the AC unit. We paid both a trip fee and repair costs. Second failure: The same technician returned days later and stated that the root cause was the improper installation of the heating unit. He assured us the issue had been resolved. Third failure: A different technician concluded that all electrical components in the outdoor AC unit were defective and recommended replacement. Replacement process: A comfort specialist measured and confirmed that a Bosch unit would fit. We reluctantly agreed to the replacement. On installation day, we were informed the unit would not fit, and were told we would be contacted with an alternative plan--which never happened. We requested a refund. Fourth failure: The very next day, the AC failed again. This technician also confirmed the heating unit's improper installation had caused premature failure of the AC. We began requesting our refund on July 24, 2025. By July 31, 2025, with no refund of over $15,000 issued, we had to escalate the matter to our credit card company. As of August 8, 2025, we still have not been contacted with any resolution plan, despite multiple emails, texts, and phone calls to various Cooper representatives, including a direct request for the owner to reach out. While many of Cooper's employees have been polite, this does not outweigh the consistent lack of technical competence, follow-through, and accountability demonstrated throughout this process. The original installation error created a cascade of failures, and the company has failed to take ownership or effectively resolve the problem. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Cooper Heating & Cooling. The repeated service failures, incorrect installation, conflicting diagnoses, and lack of timely communication and resolution have caused significant inconvenience, unnecessary expense, and loss of trust. read more

I've spent over $20,000 with Cooper Heating and Electric in the last two years on a full HVAC install. That should have brought comfort and peace of mind to my family of five, including a 13-month-old baby. Instead, it has been two full years of stress, repeated failures, and negligence. They have been back to my home at least 12 times since the install. I am not exaggerating. Every single visit has been due to issues that were either covered under warranty or caused by their own poor work. I've never had to pay because the problems are always their fault. And yet the system still doesn't work. Right now, in the middle of a Colorado heat wave, my house is nearly 80 degrees. The AC has been running non-stop, all day and overnight, and it still cannot cool the house. Despite telling Cooper all of this, they told us they can't come out for almost a week. So now we are being forced to leave our home just to keep our kids safe because its only getting hotter. I have been beyond patient with this company. I used to have a project manager who helped manage the chaos, but like everyone competent I've met there, he quit. That should tell you everything. Cooper is not qualified to handle large installs. They don't stand by their work. They don't care about the real impact their mistakes have on families. I've given them more chances than anyone should, and I regret ever choosing them. read more

Service tech came out to inspect our boiler in our new home. He was courteous, professional, communicative, and knowledgeable. I was overall happy with the service. After he left, the boiler was firing differently. It was much louder and had a much louder thud as it fired. I initially turned off the boiler and then returned to take a glance at it the next day. The technician forgot to put one of the covers back on the boiler. Once I put the part back in its place, the boiler started to fire normally. It was the last visit of the day, so I suspect it was something he missed and was not a big deal. I'd use them again. read more

I had a nightmare of an experience with Cooper installing mini-splits. They cut holes in the wrong places for the units and the pipes coming into the unit. They broke two of the three units while installing them. A three day job turned into a 3 month job and I'm still dealing with the consequences. I still need to pay for paint touch ups from their mess and the caulking around the units is cracking already because they are not close enough the drywall. For the absurd price of the project I'd expect some supervision from an experienced technician but they only sent their most green guys. Customer service was also terrible, the only time I got a call back was to ask for me to pay the invoice. DO NOT USE COOPER even if they are slightly cheaper than a competitor. read more
