    Goodness!

The owners have kept the exterior as it was when this place opened many years ago. Upon opening the door, you are met with the warm aroma of sugar, flour and other goodness. Many wonderful pies, cakes, cookies, and of course, their famous donuts. I particularly enjoyed their long donuts - perfectly fried, fluffy, filled with vanilla cream, which was smooth and just the amount of perfect sweetness. They do lots of custom orders, and do a lot to support the local schools. I recall seeing nice music themed cookies for sale which were in support of the middle school music program I believe. Very nice. We were lucky enough to meet the owner; she was enthusiastic, helpful and the perfect person to continue the joy of this bakery. Lots of parking side and back. Very much looking forward to our next visit!

A friend of mine recommended this place and said that it's been around 98 years! So I got their famous cream, filled doughnut, and it was very yummy! I also picked up a spinach breakfast pastry for the next morning. I did eat it, and it was very beautiful and very delicious. The decor has a beautiful and preciously retro decor. I loved seeing the old photos and the nostalgic feeling you get from being here. I also really loved being cared for by the staff. They really do their job so well and love to share stories about the speaker and they're very helpful and friendly. All kinds of cookies and sweet and savory items. And you can even eat indoors here. They also had a hot coffee!!

Eet Gud Bakery in Hamilton is one of those rare survivors that reminds a person what the world used to taste like before it was processed, packaged, and trademarked. You walk in and the place smells like sugar, flour, and pride. The glass cases are full of pastries that look like they were made by someone's grandmother who still believes in doing things the hard way because it is the right way. There is nothing sleek or modern about it, and thank goodness for that. It feels honest. I asked them for a custom Green Day themed birthday cake for my wife, who has always appreciated a slice of nostalgia served with her celebrations. What they made was perfect. It looked like something straight out of their most recent album art, vivid and clever and alive. It also tasted like joy. The cake was moist, the frosting smooth without being cloying, every detail cared for as if it mattered. And it did. The people there are professionals in the old sense of the word, which means they take their work seriously. You can see it in the variety of their offerings, from doughnuts to Danish, all lined up like little proofs that craftsmanship still exists. In a world where everything is turning into a brand and every bakery is trying to sell you the same glossy mediocrity, Eet Gud stands as a small act of rebellion. The prices are not cheap, but then again neither is excellence. You get what you pay for, and sometimes you get more. Five stars for a bakery that still remembers what it means to make something by hand and to make it well.

A very friendly staff with delicious pastries and cakes. This is definitely our new bakery. 93 years in service and with how tasty everything is you would think they'll have 93 more. Cakes are delicious. My favorite is the apple fritter. So darn good. Absolutely a must try!

Eet Gud is our Saturday destination for post-theater class treats. It's no surprise I chose them for my mom's birthday cake. My mom is a huge fan of black and white cookies. I brought my inspiration picture and Tracey and her decorator handily managed the details: mini cookies, ganache top, chocolate cake layer, vanilla custard layer, vanilla cake layer and vanilla buttercream frosting. Everyone raved about the cake, even the cake haters! My husband who is not a fan of cake and icing asked for this exact cake for his birthday. I also recommend the following savory favorites any other day of the week: spinach/feta croissant, leek croissant, olive loaf. The sweets are always delicious, including the cream sticks, Italian rainbow cakes, Chickie and Pete's limited edition donut.

Back again and it was worth the trip - 3 things / Snowflake Rolls, Rye Bread and a Cream Donut! That says it all!

Gender Reveal Ruined-- Followed By The Worst Customer Service I've Ever Experienced…read more I have never written a negative review in my life, but this experience was so upsetting and handled so poorly that I feel obligated to share it. I ordered a gender reveal cake and was extremely clear from the very beginning that this was for a gender reveal and that I needed blue on the inside and white on the outside. When I placed the order, I gave very specific directions: white on the outside, blue on the inside. I even provided a photo of exactly what I wanted. Later that same day, I called back to confirm again: white on the outside, blue on the inside. Then when I picked the cake up, I had a third confirmation point. They read the instructions back to me and again confirmed it was supposed to be white on the outside and blue on the inside. I even verbally confirmed one more time before leaving the store. So there were three separate touch points of communication confirming the exact same thing. This cake was for my first baby's gender reveal. This was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for my husband and our family. I spent time planning this, buying flowers, an outfit, and setting up something incredibly special for us. When we cut the cake during the reveal -- while filming -- the inside was completely white. No blue. Nothing. The entire moment was ruined. My husband found out we were having a boy in the most anticlimactic, confusing way possible. It was heartbreaking and honestly humiliating to have planned something so meaningful only for it to completely fall apart because of a mistake that was confirmed THREE separate times. What made this exponentially worse was the customer service afterward. When I called the next morning, I was met with rudeness and condescension. Later, when someone finally called me back, I was literally asked if I was "sure" there wasn't blue inside -- as if I didn't just cut into and dig through my own cake. I had to prove their mistake by sending photos. During that same call, I explained how rude the first person I spoke to had been. The response I got was essentially, "Yeah... she really shouldn't be answering the phone" and that she's not very good at customer service. That honestly left me speechless. If someone is not good at customer service, why are they the person answering customer calls? Especially when those calls are about major life events and serious issues? It was one of the strangest, most unprofessional interactions I have ever had with a business in my life. At no point initially did anyone apologize. I had to be visibly upset and crying before anyone even attempted to say sorry. Even the owner never called me directly -- he texted asking me to call him about a refund. When I did call, there was still no real apology, just discussion about money. Let me be very clear: This was never about the $50. This was about ruining one of the most meaningful milestones of my life and then treating me like I was an inconvenience when I called about it. People make mistakes. I understand that. But how you handle the mistake is what defines your business -- and this was handled terribly from start to finish. I have never been treated so badly by so many people from one business, especially over something tied to a major life event. I will never use this bakery again, and I will absolutely be sharing this experience with others so they can make an informed decision. If you are trusting them with an important life event, I strongly suggest reconsidering.

Besides the huge delicious donuts they have showcased right when you walk in beckoning you to eat…read morethem, they specialize in custom cakes and tasty breads, and rolls. I saw a cake shaped like a sneaker! I'm not sure of the name of the kind lady behind the counter, but she is sweet and always up for a bit of conversation. You know the real kind of customer service you used to get? Well that is what she provides. The absolute number one reason to go here is their homemade, ready to whip up, pizza dough! It is so yummy and will "rise to the occasion" in your car before you get home to pop it in the oven. Franca bakery has made "pizza chef" one of the attributes, no doubt, that will be listed in my obituary one day.

Enjoy some bland, day old tasting donuts... on the cheap!…read more Came here on my way home from work one day figuring it would be a nice treat. While I hate to judge an establishment by its looks, this did not have much to offer. Old fixtures and display, no line, PLENTY of baked goods left... But I guess in this case it was right. They had plenty of cookies left, a few donuts, plenty of cupcakes and other goods which at the end of the day seemed odd. The service was ok, but not knowledgeable about their selection. How do you not know what kind of filling is in your donuts? I tried 2 donuts which ended up being dry, granular tasting, and left a waxy taste in your mouth. They had me questioning if they were actually old, and not today old but like made yesterday old. But hey, 2 donuts for $1.50? I guess that's not bad.
