If you can avoid this office, please do so. My husband was scheduled for a vasectomy four months…read moreago. It is now February, and the procedure has yet to happen due to paperwork issues caused by this office or doctors leaving the office (should have been the first red flag). This office has cancelled appointments last minute and then blamed us for not coming to the appointments that they previously cancelled. It's been a dumpster fire working with them. Hopefully this saves someone else the headache.

This is review on Ella and Nancy who work in the urology department at northbay at Dr. Khaira's…read moreoffice. I had a procedure done yesterday on 6/20/23 and am in significant amount of pain.. I was told by Nancy when she called me around 835am this morning to remove my stent that was placed in 24hrs at home by myself.. I was also told that if couldn't do it alone I could be seen In office to be helped. I then was called from the recovery department at north bay at around 2pm to see how I was doing with everything after the surgery and asked about pain and all that and they told me that the stent should be removed in 10days. I told them I was in significant amount of pain and that Nancy at Dr. khairas office told me I had to remove the stent in 24hrs not 10days.. so the nurse on the phone told me to TRIPLE check again with Dr. K to see about the stent and to ask for better pain management meds. So I called the office and Ella said she would pass the message to Nancy to call me back.. so Nancy called me back at 320pm and asked me what was wrong.. (but with attitude)I told her about the confusion i had with when to pull the stent out and that I was in a significant amount of pain and the meds were not helping.. she then said "The recovery department does not know what they are talking about always listen to the Doctors orders not them, what you need to do is pull the stent out and wait 30 mins if your still in pain call us back before 5pm" but THE WAY she delivered that was very rude. So I said I would.. I tried to remove it in the shower around 345pm .. I tried tugging the string and deep breathing like 3 times but holy F.. it HURTS SOOO BAD. So I called them back to see if I could come in person so they can help me. ELLA (bc they even spelled it out rudely for me) answered the phone and didn't even ask for my name or DOB like almost she already knew who was calling.. she put me on hold and then when she came back on very rudely she said "ma'am if you can get here by 445pm we can help you to remove it here in the office" I told her I didn't have a ride until 5pm bc I'm home alone and can't drive and she said "well we close at 5pm you can come in tomorrow @9am" I then asked if i could at least have something g prescribed for tonight in the meantime while I waited for the appt tmw and their response (again very rudely and apathetic) " we'll all the doctors are gone now so idk what to tell you, if it hurts THAT bad then you can go to the ER" I was left with my jaw on the floor.. I just said "okay.... What's your name?" And that's when they spelled it out for me.. I just wanted to say that the LACK of empathy, understanding and compassion for patients is no where to be found in these two staff members. They kept saying "I understand" very rudely.. but in reality do they understand???? Are they the ones in pain with a stent that is in your body running from your kidney to your urethra???? Have they ever felt what that's like bc I wish this pain on nobody. I'm sorry but this department needs to go through some SERIOUS customer service and empathy training to say the least. Dr. Khaira was AMAZING.. he has the best bedside manner I have ever experienced in a Dr and the surgical team was also sooo amazing they were so loving and caring and showed so much compassion.. even my NP Dorothy is amazing!! The sweeetest NP ever.. but it seems like the actual staff running the front missed the training on how to be decent human beings.. please northbay offer your staff some customer service trainings.

Well, how does one review a Urology clinic when it's the first ever visit? Well, I researched the…read moreclinics in Sonoma County and San Francisco. I choose this one because I liked the credentials and biographies of all the doctors - didn't read any bad reviews in yelp... and I liked the faces of the doctors in the biographies! You know, show me a police line-up and I think I can detect the ones who have all the lights on and someone is at home when I look into the eyes. So, based upon reviews, biographies, internet stuff and a book from Amazon I choose Napa Valley Urology Associates. I choose Dr Khaira but would have been happy with anyone in that group. I needed a specialist to act upon a high PSA score. Dr Khaira was able to verify a biopsy was needed and performed the procedure to get the needed results. This excellent review is given because of his skillful performance to get the 12 samples and do it quickly with minimal pain. He had an assistant so that the procedure was quickly done. I have read of this exercise being done with as few as six samples - and the use of a topical painkiller rather than injections and no assistant. The pain from the topical painkiller can be "excruciating" so that six samples is all that can be taken at one time. ( I always like to inject a little humor into my reviews as a little treat to anyone who takes the bother to read it... so use your own imagination here to have a good laugh and then read on. ) Dr Khaira gave adequate pain injections and the procedure went smoothly. Napa Valley Urology Associates is a busy place! When I went in for a 10:30 appointment it was like a busy bus station... though there were plenty of seats. A small army of women run the front desk and from the banter of conversations I heard they are a happy crew that work well together: signs of a well managed group. I also saw a couple of local men who were surprised to see each other there - but found the opportunity to schedule a dinner to try out some new wine. A busy place and a happy place.

Excellent doctor. Very competent and thorough. The PAs are good too.read more

AVOID THIS ARROGANT DOCTOR…read more My wife and I were patients of Dr. Fisher, but after a year, we'd both had enough: --Despite her frequent UTIs, Dr. Fisher refused to see my wife more than once every 4-6 months. When he learned that she already had an appointment scheduled in MHO for the following month, he instructed his staff to cancel it. When I pleaded with the staff member not to do this, I was told not to worry...he'd be available to prescribe antibiotics in the event of another UTI. However, when we needed him, he failed to provide help despite the pleas of his staff (who knew he was in the office that day). We had to visit urgent care to obtain antibiotics. --On one appointment, we waited in the examination room over an hour before Dr. Fisher showed up. This is despite my wife's disability; she can not sit for long periods due to spiral issues. After 45 minutes, I opened the door to the room and looked out. Dr. Fisher was offended that we had become impatient. After reading the other reviews here, I see that our experience was not unique.

Everything was a clinical explanation as he was talking and directing his conversation to my mom. My mom is in her 70s and English isn't her first language. I take her to all of her appointments and I have never had a doctor dismiss me and be snappy with me for the questions I was asking on behalf of my mom. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was having a bad day after the first visit but I should have known better. He is so unprofessional and tries to be cool by dapping my mom with his knuckles when he says goodbye. What a joke.
