Ed is the best dentist I've ever had. I never had a dentist go so deep in detail educating me on oral hygiene. I did not know how to properly brush, properly floss, or that I should use a tongue scraper, etc. before seeing him. There is a technique to it all that most dentists do not bother teaching. Went in the first time with a case of gingivitis that has since cleared up. Big thanks to Ed and his team. He is ethical and will not do any work to your mouth that is unnecessary. He's very casual and fun to be around. He will probably get caught up in talking to you. Leave yourself a big window of time if you are seeing him directly (as opposed to the oral hygienist). Quirky office dynamics. I find each experience there to be quite entertaining. His oral hygienist on staff (sorry, I forgot her name!) is very knowledgeable and equally helpful. Truly excellent. Their rates are fair for the work done. And they seem to accept most standard dental insurance plans. read more

Due to his engaging and friendly manner, we became personal friends early on and remain so to this day. He always has provided unsurpassed quality in all services. I believe Dr Dergosits would be pleased if Dr Campbell steps into his practice. I honestly was dreading the process of seeking a dentist with any level of perfectionism close to Ed's, but I'm glad to say I think he'd be proud to have his patients cared for by Dr Campbell. I had been Dr Dergosits' dental patient for more than 2 decades - his attention to detail and the quality of his work were phenomenal! He cared deeply for his patients and was the best dentist I have had the pleasure of working with. Money really didn't concern him but doing procedure right even a simple filing concerned him deeply. After seeing that my old dentist had a couple negative reviews here on Yelp, I had to say something... I went to Dr. Dergosits for years, and still after having left the area and trying out numerous dentists he's the only dentist that I trust. Dr. Dergosits saved not one, not two, but three of my teeth from having to have a root canal. He repaired a ton of botched work that was previously done by other dentists. He is technically genius, a truly gifted dentist that will give you the facts about your oral health, and he honestly cares. I had a root canal done on one tooth by Dr. Dergosits almost twelve years ago. I also had another root canal done on another tooth by another dentist 5 years ago. Now, the tooth the Dr. Dergosists worked on is still in perfect condition--like new. The other tooth however has to be redone because of the space that the other dentist left between the crown and my gum. Whoever "Susan L.." sounds really misguided. Whatever work Dr. Dergosists did on her husband, I'm sure it was necessary. She and her husband sound like they are not being realistic about whatever oral issues the husband was having (it's common for people to try and ignore, or downplay oral health), and it sound like her neighbor dentist is equally misguided. Dr. Dergosists is absolutely not the type of dentist to do unnecessary work--quite the opposite, he'll do his best to do as little work as possible but the work he does do will last a lifetime. I can say this with confidence as a patient of his for many years. Dr. Dergosists is a little quirky--he loves to fish, so you'll see evidence of that around the office. But, he is a stellar dentist. He does the best work I've ever had done on my teeth in my life, and I've even thought of making a trip back to the area only to get work done by him. I have a good dentist now in Chicago with many five star reviews here on Yelp (which is how I found him), but he's not better than Dr. Dergosits. Lady D. and Susan L. should really rethink their reviews. Too bad people feel they need to trash others because they don't get exactly what they expect. Dr. Dergosits is a real talent and anyone who goes to him as a patient is lucky to have him as a dental resource. read more

I have been getting state-of-the-art dental care from Dr Ed Dergosits for over a decade - it has been worth every penny! Genetically, I may not have the greatest teeth, but I do have a wonderful smile partly because of my awesome dental team :) Dr Dergosits is a total dental geek, but isn't that what you want in a dentist? His hygienist Christy is brilliant too! And Andrea is great at managing the flow of the office, - w/out her we'd be in trouble... Dergosits is a perfectionist. (which means that schedules may get changed as he takes the time to get every little detail right - absolutely worth it in the long term!) He really knows how to make quality, long-lasting, attractive fillings (all w/out silver/mercury) , crowns, and implants. & he's a minimalist - he won't sell you on stuff you don't need. Personally, I like him; I am a perfectionist in my work too, and I respect his focus on optimal results. Christy has a gentle way of teaching you what you need to know to do an ever better job of self-care with your teeth, while polishing off the fuzzy texture to a smooth luxurious feel. I always look forward to having her clean my teeth! I feel confident that I am getting the best dental care in northern California! I came to Dr Dergosits after I had been on antibiotics and in pain for several months while investing thousands of dollars in a root canal with a different dentist. Dr. Dergosits looked at the x-ray this other dentist had taken before he even did the root canal, pointed to the crack in the tooth, and told me the sad news that my tooth was not savable. (ie, the root canal should never have been done on a tooth that was cracked) Dr. Dergosits said I would feel much better when the infected tooth was taken out; this turned out to be true and a huge relief. Then Dr Dergosits began the process of building me a replacement tooth that looks fabulous! Since then I have enjoyed the highest quality of dental care with Dr Dergosits & his team. I've been seeing Dr Dergosits for 6+ years. He's done a exceptional job on my teeth. Including implants and crowns. He has the best hygienist and no bs staff. Maybe not the best chair side manner. But thorough and competent. Dr. D does it all and wont send you to a specialist for every little thing. His rates are fair for the work done. I don't have insurance and this means a lot to me. Appointment are easy. No big wait. He's very tech and has the latest equipment. Which I like! I do recommend Dr. Ed Dergosits. read more

Very happy to give a five star review here. Many dentists are quite limited in their scope and will shuffle you off to someone else for anything beyond bare basic dental care.... Need a root canal or implant ??? Most will say "sorry we can't help with that but we'll refer you to someone else".... Not Dr. Ed. He has the education, knowledge and experience to do it all. He and his office staff are friendly and helpful. I only wish I had been as good to my teeth in the past as Dr. Ed has been to them since I've been seeing him. I had to pull two teeth because of infections and replacing them with implants turned out to be a complicated affair that required bone grafts, sinus lifts and two new crowns on posts. The lady at the front desk was very very rude and very unprofessional. She didn't even made an afford to call my insurance company and told me do it and bring her all the rates and billing info!! Plus while talking to me she was eating a tuna sandwich, it was very nasty picture. Doctor was late. The staff was talking to each other using filthy language. Doctor told me that almost all my teeth need a lot of work. I decided to check that with different specialist, my new dentist send a request of my films to Dr Dergosits office. The tuna sandwich lady said she will send it right the way but she newer did. Finally three weeks later at the day of my appointment people from the new dental office called me and said that they didn't receive films yet, and that sandwich lady doesn't want to cooperate. So I had to ran to the Dr. Dergosits office to get my films, she told me she was gonna sand them today. Very bad experience, and by the way only one of my tooth needed to be taken care of not almost all of them as Dr. Dergosits said. DO NOT go there!!! read more

My family and I have been seeing Ed for 25+ years. When we moved to Petaluma we tried other dentists and didn't have much luck or satisfaction with their work so we went back to driving down to Mill Valley for all of our dental work. Most recently (April 2016) I had a post implanted and it was really quite painless. I have had no pain from the implant and after 3-4 days or so, the soreness at the injection sites for the lidocaine was also gone. The office staff is great and the dental hygienist is also exceptional. I read the other reviews here and they are all pretty much spot-on if they are 4 or 5 stars, so no need to duplicate all the praise. Simply stated, Ed is an exceptionally talented practitioner. read more

What can you say about a dentist who goes to a blog site for dental professionals and points with obvious pride, as he did with me today, to a comment someone had left about "his professional integrity and ethics?" He's a good, decent guy that knows denistry and practices it wonderfully. Today, he extracted my left front tooth after it was discovered that it was cracked and badly infected and replaced it with a temporary bridge. I was about as anxious going into the dental office as I've ever been. But 2 1/2 hours later, I walked out looking even better than what I came in, and that's really thanks to his patient explanation, both in his office and on the phone to my home, of the pros and cons of different treatment options some weeks before. And when he learned I had been charged several hundred dollars more than the initial estimate, he rescinded the charge. This is one terrific dentist. read more
