My son recognized him as a dentist who made a visit to his school to talk about teeth and it's very easy to see why he's so popular with the little ones. But I've never had such a difficult time to schedule/reschedule an appointment before. I always feel like I have to take time off work or pull my son out of school or wait another month or more. Their hours are terrible. The 7am Fridays would be great if we lived closer but we'd have to leave even earlier to get through traffic and then there's no guarantee we'd be finished in an hour to get to school on time. 2pm closure on Fridays is crazy. And they close at 3pm on Tuesdays and 5pm on the other days. They are always booked solid so good luck if your child gets sick.

They always make the kids feel comfortable and even excited to go back and get toy surprises. The office is clean and totally geared toward kids, with toys in the lobby and even a horse saddle for the x-ray chair! There's lots of colorful fun artwork on the walls, TVs on the ceiling make our kids smile! while getting their teeth cleaned!! They also have fun contests a few times each year, like send in a postcard with prizes for nearest, furthest, most colorful, etc. They don't take accept insurance, but we keep going even though they're out off network for us. This review is way overdue because I began taking my kids as toddlers and now the oldest is 13. Dr. Bala is patient and kind. He remembers his patients and will greet them as he passes by, even though he is on his way to another patient. My kids have completely different experiences because my daughter has had cavities and my son has had none. My daughter needed a filling at around 8 or 9 years old. She was already uncomfortable with the normal teeth cleanings and X-rays so I knew she would not like having to get a shot and teeth worked on. Dr. Bala tried comforting her by explaining what he was going to do and had no problem stopping if he thought she was uncomfortable. The office itself is very clean, welcoming and bright. There are televisions above the exam chairs to help distract the kids while they get work done. Dr. Bala has many assistants that help get the patients in and out in a timely manner. And although my kids are still hesitant going to the dentist, it is not out of fear. They just don't like the taste of the vitamins they put on their teeth. Visiting a different dentist generated a treatment plan that was ~50% of what Primary Teeth was trying to get away with. The treatment you receive and bedside manner here may be quality, but who wants to work with someone who will look you in the eye and say your child needs expensive invasive treatment that they actually don't?
