Based on at least half a dozen visits. Its not a glitzy store, but there are a number of brands available including Briggs and Riley, Tumi, Samsonite, American Tourister and others. There is luggage but also a nice selection of work backpacks and briefcases. Friendly staff/owner has a good understanding of the brands as well as luggage types strengths and weakness'. I travel a fair amount on business and for pleasure, and appreciate durable and functional luggage. I like Briggs and Riley. Briggs and Riley has a lifetime guarantee. The company is great with repairs when needed. You can call them and ship at a UPS store, or bring it in and ship from the store. There is a fee but there would be at the uPS store as well. Their luggage is very durable but after years of use eventually something will need repaired, so it's nice to know the store can assist. I believe the store is an authorized dealer. There is space to open the luggage and you can try it out walking around before you buy. If you need luggage, this is a good place to visit. read more

This is a small jewel in Briarwood with good brands and helpful staff. A nice option to Amazon. I have owned Tumi and Victoronix luggage and have had great problems with both when you need any repair. Neither actually kept the parts for luggage that was fine except needing new wheels for example. I have now switched to Briggs and Riley and Eds Luggage will handle any returns to them if needed. read more

Ed's has a ton of high quality luggage by many brands. The staff is knowledgeable about all sorts of issues related to feature sets, weight, airlines, consumer ratings, and more; and can speak to brands they do not carry. I did not feel pushed to buy in any way, but rather encouraged to spend the time to ask questions and learn. They do repair luggage there also, though honestly I would not recommend it as a manufacturer service is better from personal experience. If you want lasting luggage and the customer service that should come with the price you pay then Ed's fits the bill. I did buy a piece of luggage in my last visit and plan to expand to more set pieces in the near future. read more

This store is great! The manager was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The store has a great selection of merchandise as well, anything from Tumi and Samsonite, wallets to large suitcases, and with a range of prices. The manager helped me find the exact garment bag I needed, which no other store in the area seemed to have! He showed me multiple choices and talked me through each one explaining the pros and cons based on my needs. I 100% recommend Ed's Luggage! read more

I purchased a Briggs and Riley rolling case more than 30 years ago and it still is the best piece of luggage I have ever owned. Had a problem with telescoping handle 25 years later! and they replaced it like new --no fuss, no hassel. I was now looking for a carry-on luggage case and because of the quality, durability and outstanding warranty, it was logical to look for a Briggs and Riley product. Spent a couple of hours online and couldn't figure out which one to get. I could only find two stores in southeast Michigan that actually carries them in stock (Macys has them on their website, but not in the stores and the saleclerks were not knowledgeable.) I also was taken care of by Azad--he was terrific. He clearly explained the pros and cons of each model and made the choice easy. By myself online I probably would have made the wrong choice. The store is a real sleeper-they have deceptively more stock than you would expect and the knowledge to help customers navigate the choices. Briggs and Riley are not discounted anywhere (everyones' "sale prices" do not include B&R), and the personal service was well worth the drive to Ann Arbor. Expensive, but great product and the suitcase will probably outlive me! read more

We were not looking for luggage, but our cases have been getting old so we wandered into Ed's Luggage in Briarwood mall. Azar was SO helpful. Friendly service, but few opinions on how to choose between the options. The owner did a solid job of jumping in before anyone put a shiny new suitcase flat on the floor to inspect it --- he's got a towel-covered table and a few luggage caddies ready to aid with inspections. The selection's fine (Samsonite to Tumi) and the stock's reasonable, but I do wish I could get a breakdown of the pros and cons of the options I'm considering; the shop line is "They're all reasonable, it's a matter of personal choice." I got the suitcase I was after, but had to make a few guesses to get there. read more

Went to Ed's Luggage today, with my wife, to pick out several pieces for a coming trip. I explained to the manager that I wanted to buy luggage that would last a lifetime. We have done some research and settled on the Briggs & Riley brand. He was very helpful and knowledgeable in describing the right luggage for our needs. We adjourned for a while and returned to finalize the transaction. All this time, there was no pressure to go ahead with the sale; just helpful information. This was a major purchase for us. I'm sure we got the best luggage at the best price. More than anything else, we appreciate the individual service from a person who was knowledgeable about the product and willing to spend the time and energy to get us a good fit. This unassuming little luggage shop in Briarwood Mall is actually a small business and the only store I've found that carries high end luggage in Ann Arbor. They also carry a wide selection of mid-range brands like Swiss-Army and Samsonite. I wanted to compare Tumi and Briggs and Riley carry-ons before I made my purchase. The salesman was very friendly and helped me navigate through the offerings (they carry a wide selection) to make my choice. It was nice not to have to leave Ann Arbor to get what I needed. These guys are the best. I've come to them twice for repairs in my Samsonite luggage and they've always been so helpful. They were really responsive, gave me a few options and we're always friendly. They have some nice Tumi stuff in their store too. I would buy anything from them. read more

While on my business trip at Ann Arbor, my briefcase fell apart and I went to this store in Brairwood Mall, called Ed's laggage to buy another briefcase. Not only did this store have the biggest selection of briefcases, but excellent customer service. The gentleman that helped me, who is the manager, patiently spent almost an hour with me to pick out the right bag for me and he was extremely knowledgable about his merchandise. I promised him whenever I returned to Ann Arbor and needed any luggage, I would definitely come back to visit the store. read more

One would think it is just easier and cheaper to buy luggage online. That was my assumption. I stopped by Ed's because I was reluctantly at the mall for other things. As it turns out, it was a much better buying experience all the way around! I worked with store manager Azad. I thought I knew what I wanted, but Azad was able to bring out similar items and helped me make a MUCH better purchasing decision that I would have made without looking at all the various options first hand. Simple things - like they have a table set up so you can actually open up a couple of bags and do a detailed side by side comparison. Pricing was also excellent. It was incredibly valuable to actually put my hands on the items I was buying and check out features that are just not easy to assess by looking online. I'm a convert - I will by from Ed's from now on. This is one of those best kept secrets - Ed's is great. This from someone who generally hates Mall Stores. Azad pointed out Shirt/Clothing Folders that I had never seen before - fantastic. He simply listened to what I was trying to do and came up with great solutions at a great price.
