Highly recommend!…read more After years of dealing with chronic lower back pain, trying everything from physical therapy to pain management with no lasting relief, I finally found the answer with Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield. At 50 years old, I was hesitant and scared. I had heard so many negative things about spinal fusions, and being a high-risk patient with a history of blood clots only added to my fears. But from the moment I met with Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield, I felt heard and understood. They took the time to explain everything clearly and compassionately. My X-rays and MRI made it undeniable--my spine had slipped to the point that surgery was the only option. It wasn't going to get better on its own, and I wasn't getting any younger. In early February, I had the surgery. From the very first time I got up afterward, I was pain free--something I hadn't experienced in years. Now, eight weeks later, I'm still pain free and healing well. I am beyond grateful that I chose to trust these incredible doctors. They gave me my life back, and now I have a future full of possibilities ahead of me. Thank you, Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield, for your skill, your kindness, and for helping me reclaim a life without pain. Angela M.

My doctors were Tiffany Rogers, MD and Jeff Satterfield, PA - highly qualified orthopedic surgeon and orthopedic specialist. I had my consultation for a total disc replacement surgery (C5-7). Satterfield explained the procedure in detail. I felt at ease to ask any questions or for clarifications needed. They had dispelled any fears I had, and I felt I was in good hands. This type of surgery has advanced significantly over the years. Continued all my post-follow up appointments with Jeff Satterfield. Always professional, very welcoming, and I never felt rushed. I was able to find lasting relief from the numbness & discomfort, no complaints here.

At that time, I was not able to get the surgery due to my work demands and just suffered with the condition. Finally, I had a break in my schedule. Due to the heavy construction work I do, getting the surgery done correctly was paramount. Also, the office staff for Dr. Ginsburg is very efficient, friendly and available to assist with any questions. I strongly recommend Dr. Ginsburg for anyone looking to have hernia surgery.

Someone cutting on my back was not anything I was receptive to. When sciatic episodes became more frequent and longer lasting and I was forced to postpone scheduled knee replacement surgery I reluctantly decided to again consult an orthopedic surgeon. After initial consultation, x-rays and MRI I had follow up appointment with Dr. Bhalla to discuss options. He recommended surgery. Still reluctant to go that route I opted for another try with an epidural, but to to no avail. Back to Dr. Bhalla who told me the problems were going to continue to get worse so at age 73 I finally agreed to surgery. Lower lumber fusion surgery was performed at Long Beach Memorial Hospital by Dr. Bhalla and Dr. Rao (vascular surgeon). Anterior Lumber Interbody Fusion (ALIF) and laminectomy surgeries were performed on Monday and Thursday of the same week. The week in the hospital (overall very good care and treatment) and first 2 weeks at home I experienced moderate pain and discomfort but nothing intolerable. After 2 weeks of light rehab at home I started physical therapy program. After several weeks of PT my back felt really good. It has been nearly one year since the surgery and other than minimal discomfort during the initial recovery period I have experienced no back pain! From the initial consultation through the post-op visits Dr. Bhalla thoroughly explained all the options, the details of the surgical procedure, the recovery and rehabilitation process and patiently answered all my questions. Dr. Bhalla is a compassionate and highly skilled physician and surgeon! And, kudos to his very competent and kind office staff. While back surgery is a last resort, if there is no other viable way to address your pain and problems Dr. Bhalla is the surgeon for you.

The procedure went ok, quite painful, but everything seemed to go as planned. Later that day and for the following week, I was in extreme pain - unable to walk. I called the doctors office three times to leave a message and see if there was something wrong as this was not normal. Each time, my messages were left unanswered - no doctor to respond to my inquiries. I ended up going to Urgent Care for assistance to address the excruitating pain. When I finally was able to speak to someone, it was the front desk who provided me some advise (same that was on my handout - she was not a medical professional, so I didn't have any help in that conversation). I provided the feedback to Dr. ElKhoury- Front desk staff unprofessional, no follow-up at a very vulnerable time in the process and unfortunate. I've since found other Pain Management doctors in OC that have been much better - but I wish, pain management was more than just spinal shots and more thorough review of options.

I tried everything I could think of--massage, physical therapy, acupuncture, radiofrequency treatment--but nothing gave me lasting relief. Eventually, I could barely walk for five minutes before the pain and numbness would travel down my leg. I felt like I couldn't live my normal life anymore. When Dr. Ajiboye reviewed my MRI, he explained that the degeneration in my spine was compressing the nerves. I already understood that my condition was unlikely to get better without surgery, but I was still very nervous about making that decision. What I appreciated most was that Dr. Ajiboye never pressured me. He explained my condition and simply told me that if I decided to have surgery, he would be there to help me. That gave me so much confidence in him. The most incredible moment was after my surgery. The physical therapist helped me get up and walk, and I remember thinking, "Wait... where did my pain go?" After living with that pain for years, being able to walk without it was almost unbelievable. It has now been more than a year since my surgery, and I can happily say that I can walk, travel, and go sightseeing comfortably again.

My surgery was complex, requiring replacement of two discs and a vertebra, removal of damaged bone, and additional stabilization from L4-L5 to S1. Although my recovery was complicated by sepsis and nearly a month in the hospital, Dr. Ajiboye remained deeply involved in my care. Just flipping through my paper work, no scans or xrays were included in the paper work, he immediately started throwing out Cancer or tumor. How insensitive. From the 5 mins that I was in the room with Dr. Kim, he determined I had cancer or a tumor, scheduled a CT $235 OOP and wanted to see me in 2 weeks to do an Endoscopic procedure and rushed out. Since I was in the process of donating my kidney, I had already taken CT scans which he had the results on but I figured bc of the time in between appointments I went. They scheduled the endoscopy to be scheduled before the results would get back from his CT, told me I would have to pay over $800 out of pocket. Which I was willing to pay bc "cancer". My insurance denied the service at first, deeming it unnecessary. RED FLAG. They called me over 5x from leaving the office to the scheduled endoscopy about 10 days later. When talking to a friend who recently over came liver cancer, she asked why endoscopy? How can they see your liver through your stomach? That made me question Dr. Kim. Apparently they went back to my insurance with another reason and they insurance approved the procedure. Which also piqued my curiosity. Before I got a chance to call him to ask him about the procedure, I got a call first reminding me about the procedure and the $800 out of pocket. I asked the receptionist if she knew why I had to get the procedure done, she said to look in my stomach and take polyps. RED FLAG. I asked why are you taking anything from my stomach if I came for my liver? She said that's what the doctor ordered. I said well I am paying $800 out of pocket for a procedure that has nothing to do with why I came. She said I will have to speak to the doctor. I asked when he was available to give me a call, she said he wouldn't be available to call before the procedure. RED FLAG. Can he email? No. RED FLAG. She said I would have to make another in office visit and scheduled it for 2 days after the procedure. She had the nerve to ask if I was still coming in for the endoscopy Monday. No! Not before I get answers on why, but thinking back to the 5 min office visit prior that cost me $160. I eventually cancelled that appt. This office is a waste of time and money. They're clearly ripping insurance for everything. BTW went to another Gastro, we had a telemed appt. He had the same information/paperwork Dr. Kim had. During the conversation he called my PCP and got my ultra sound results from them. It's not cancer! It's just a benign growth that is common in women who take birth control and he will monitor the size every 6 months just to be on top of it.
