If this is how it's routinely done I don't think this theater is for me. But I don't think it has to be this way. Make it darker once the movie starts, people can still eat. Don't take more food orders once the movie starts. It's too disruptive.

I think people only leave bad reviews when they don't get what they exactly want! Anyway- the workers were so welcoming! The process was very easy from buying the tickets to the end! We got there just in time (not the 45 min ahead like it said) and it was perfect! (Maybe before we were the first boat of the day?) Once in the charter it didn't take long for us to leave. While they are taking us out towards where the whales are... They told us a bunch of stories a bunch of scientific facts and a bunch of tips and tricks! We also saw a bunch of sea life just heading out to the whale areas! (Seals, starfish, birds, fish, jellyfish , etc) The ride was smooth and beautiful- DEFINITELY COLD (even if it's 90F in Seattle)! But the views are beautiful- both of the sea and Seattle!! It didn't take very long to get to the areas but once we did everyone had the same goal - SPOT THE WHALES!!! It didn't take us too long because we got lucky! There was a lot of activity that day! We ended up seeing 6 different orcas and 1 grey whale!! Super fun start to our day and now I can say I saw whales(:

My…read morewife and I stumbled into the adventure as we made an error I made in booking our Victoria Clipper day trip. For sure we will head to Victoria later. But my god what a wonderful experience we had whale watching with the Emerald Clipper. Firstly this power catamaran has been in service for 3 months as of this review. It is absolutely beautiful, comfortable and fast!!! We left pier 69 in Seattle and booked on up to the Eastern shores of Whidbey Island where we encountered a rare-ish sighting and 30 minute hang with a Grey Whale. So amazing. We then turned south to round the tip of Whidbey where we almost tripped over a second Grey Whale. My god!! There are whales In puget sound!!! But we didn't hang with this guy as the captain was focussed on getting us just about into the strait of Juan de Fuca for an incredible experience with a small family pod of Biggs Transient Orca!! It was breath taking!!! All I can say is get out there. This experience was amazing. The luxury of the boat the friendliest crew and a full bar with lovely food options makes this a real pleasure cruise!! Loved it!!

Paintings, pottery, jewelry, that awesome photography on metal so the colors stand out, etc. I remember a stall with thin pieces of wood that were carved into things like trees and mountains. They were layered into a beautiful scene, then framed as if it were a painting. Very unique! Something else that I find to be a really charming detail is that each walkway is labeled with a road sign that is named after famous artists. For example, you can tell someone to walk down "Van Gogh" to find a specific stall. It's free admission. There are food trucks, a playground, a beer garden, live music, outdoor AND indoor art displays (it's fun exploring the building)... truly a fun day for art lovers.

It had so many different types of art and everything was professionally rendered by extremely talented artists who are at the top of their art form. It was a challenge controlling myself, but I think I did, however, this is a place that I could easily and happily lose control There was a lot more than wall art. There was; ceramics, clothing, footwear, sculpture in several mediums, yard art, musical instruments and music for sale. It's a cornucopia of juried, diverse, fine art. This isn't a street fair and I'm happy that they got the street fair type vendors out of there. Every year I go and every year I find multiple items that I'd like to take home, this year would've broken the bank if I had just let myself go, but still, I'm happy with my purchases and I'll be back next year.

My hubs and I love this movie from 1989 and it was wonderful to see it in a classic, vintage theater (100+ years old!) with a good-sized crowd. So fun to laugh and cry with lots of people at the movies again!! The COVID pandemic took this tradition away and I am really hoping more people start going back to the movies again. The staff were friendly and the place was clean and full of good popcorn smells. We didn't partake though because $9 for a small bag of popcorn is just too expensive. But we appreciated this nice, old theater and we will be back.

I worked in Costumer Service for 30 years, and believe me it's HARD, especially during and after COVID. IMHO employees ACT like this under really bad mangers and management. Miserable employees treat customers with no kindness, no joy. My advice to management is FIX yourselves and the employee will follow. 'Nuf said! The Klahaya Swim & Tennis Club grounds were well maintained and a nice community space when I…read morecompeted in the Seattle Summer Swim League 1999 to 2010 for Innis Arden. The parking lot is medium size and during swim meets the church across the street was kind and allowed overflow parking, so the walk was not too far. During my younger years, the blocks were a bit like a very thick and durable plastic table and the backstroke hand rungs were sharp (not piercing) on my fingers. The top of the blocks could get slick and were on the flatter side. Some of the Klahaya swimmers expressed glee about how their pool had the "cleanest" blocks because they were flat. There was some debate on whether using slightly tilted and rough-surfaced blocks constituted cheating in a race. It was commonly agreed upon wedge technology for starting blocks counted as cheating. I was thankful for the flatter blocks because it helped me realize how much a rough surface on a block and a slight tilt could change the depth of a dive off a block and overall dive form. The pool was well designed for waiting for races both on the benches and behind the blocks, watching the swimmers from the bleachers or the side/end of the lanes, and a large grassy area next to the tennis courts provided space to spread out a blanket and/or chairs. Concessions were easy to find, though the line could flow into the walking path if long. Locker rooms were easy to access from the pool deck.

Membership is limited and the wait list to join takes a bit but those in the know, enjoy this little private community club. Starch-boy, our son, has enjoyed attending several birthday parties here. The staff is well versed in safety instruction and they have requirements of the swimmers to allow them into the deep ends of the pool. The facility is always clean, plenty of parking and the staff are always helpful. Only knock against it is the pool is only open seasonally.

My first introduction with the competition space was when I was a little girl and my soccer team volunteered to be ball girls for the high school girl's soccer team game(s). We would run and retrieve the ball for the players when it went too far out of bounds. Running track and field here consisted of two types: 1) practice and 2) competition. It was a nice venue for both, especially practice. At the time, the high school did not have a track with marked lines, so training here allowed us to practice running turns with a waterfall start and improve upon maintaining lane positioning while running. I ran middle distance and fortunately the sprinters and hurdlers had a different starting area that did not conflict with my training group practicing our starts. Throwers and jumpers had their own areas as well. It was fun to have practices and competitions where different disciplines could be active at the same time.

This has got to be one of the best nights out in town for spectator sports…read more First of all it's an amateur sport; people doing it for the love of the game in their spare time. Spare time being three practices a week, plus training, promotion, & fundraising (after they get done with the job that pays the mortgage). Secondly, these women, without repose are atheletes, currently ranked #1 in the nation in the sport of Women's Flat Track Derby Racing (http://www.wftda.com). The game it self is kinda hard to explain with out a visual, but it ain't that Rollerball shite from the 70's. Fundamentally, it's a race. Two teams of 5 players each on a small, flat track, with one player from each team (jammer) trying to lap the entire pack to score points. While, the other 4 players (3 blockers & 1 pivot) on their team are trying to prevent the other teams jammer from getting through the pack. Its grassroots & full of fun. It's loud. The sound tech needs some hearing aides. There are many personalities to entertain -the announcers (3 of 'em), each team has atleast one mascot (some have 3) to razz the crowd. All of the players have spoof game names/numbers: 24/7 Pia Mess, 40oz Sake Bomb & 666 Selma Soul to name a few. This season they arehaving matches in numerous locations: Key Arena, Magnuson Park: Hanger 27, & Qwest Event Center: WaMu Theater. This is a family friendly event, but should you just be the mood to watch the girls race & drink some brews there is a cage for ya! So as not to scare the kiddies. Do -bring some EAR PLUGS, they are not always available at the event (events are held monthly -with some special events in between). This is a fast growing sport with leagues all over the country & in our backyard (Everett, Bellingham & Olympia to name a few in the area). Most metroplisis, metropolii...BIG CITIES in the states have a league. Come out & support a WINNING Seattle sports team that is not made up of millionaires.
