The final incident made us cancel: They performed routine maintenance on a system that was working fine when they arrived. After the maintenance, the HVAC unit wouldn't turn on. We were told it was "about to fail" and the maintenance did not cause the failure. (Debatable.) Conveniently, they had the part on hand but would only install it if we paid out of pocket - even though the part was under warranty. (Don't worry, another company replaced the same part under warranty the following day.) I would think carefully before signing up for a membership.

When I later called them (not knowing it was the same company), Mike admitted he knew the pool and had told the previous owner he could not actually fix it -- only patch it temporarily. When I asked questions, he refused to answer. We later ended up in court and found out he knew the previous owner personally.
