Chocolate covered strawberry
Kelly L.

I've read some mixed reviews about all the locations of Edible Arrangements, but I thought it was worth a try since I had a discount from an app. I received surprise order of a cup of chocolate dipped strawberries (containing 6-7), a mini pineapple covered in white chocolate with sprinkles, a mini pineapple shaped in a flower covered in chocolate, and larger pineapple slice shaped as a cupcake covered in white and dark chocolate. I like the concept of decorative edible fruit arrangements. There was only one strawberry with a bruise, and I generally don't like pineapple because of the lingering aftertaste on the tongue. The worker was very nice when I picked up my order, but at the original prices, I probably wouldn't bring myself to purchase anything.

Thanksgiving bouquet

Placed an online order for a thanksgiving bouquet to give as a gift and didn't experience any logistical or technical issues. Came to this location to pick up my order and the storefront was a bit small. My order was already prepped and ready in the pick-up fridge area and service was very friendly. While the bouquet looked incredibly cute, the actual fruit came out to be a little bit disappointing. There were some visible bruises on the strawberries and pineapple flowers especially, and the lettuce used on the base was rather wilted. A lot of care, time, and effort goes into creating these arrangements, which is reflected in the prices (this bouquet was slightly less than $50) and I just wished the fruit quality had met our expectations.

This is a belated view. I'm based in Australia but visited this store in the summer of 2019. Not only were the tests amazing, but the store owner Kimberley was really friendly and made me feel welcome (she threw in a couple of freebies too). I hope to visit the store again once global travel restrictions are lifted.

My parents were super excited to receive their arrangements. They had no idea. Thank you for all your help Kim. They mentioned the pineapple was super sweet! They did forget the balloon but it wasn't a big deal, I was more worried about the delivery instructions and they got it perfect!!

Always come to this location. Have to say the first thing I notice is the Amazing customer service. They are very nice and take time to make recommendations depending on the occasion and they go through the different options with you. They aren't quick to upsell you either. Which is great. As far as the fruit itself, it's great. I've always got fresh fruit, my wife loves it and when I get some arrangements for my daughter she enjoys it as well. The location is very nicely kept. Clean which is important. Overall this place is an A+ Don't hesitate to go here. Great experience !

Weapons of mass environmental destruction.

Wow! I have never been so disappointed in a product in my life. I received an (in)edible arrangement from my unsuspecting co-workers after my mother's passing. Little did they know that what I would receive would be a bouquet of rotten, moldy fruit. But wait, that is not the worst part; that is not the part that has me absolutely steaming mad. This company has zero conscience when it comes to the environment. They skewer the fruit using hard, plastic sticks about 10 inches long. There were about 50-60 of them, stuck into pieces of styrofoam - double-whammy! Multiply those plastic sticks and pieces of styrofoam by, god knows how many thousands per year, and you have environmental crimes against Earth. These people should be behind bars. Please do not support this business - they are bad news.

Was looking for a gift that was not too sweet and still healthy, so I took a chance and order an arrangement online for a Thanksgiving day delivery. Ordering online was fairly easy and the shop location was chosen for me according to the zip code. Payment options were CC or Paypal, which was convenient. This review is based on customer service and delivery service for this location. Just around 9:50AM this morning, I received a call from edible arrangement's driver named Bob confirming the delivery. We did a bit of back and forth trying to locate the door to the house. Bob was patient and really tried hard to make the delivery in person as timely as possible. After sometime, delivery was made and all was good. But, shortly after, I realized that the address typed in on the online delivery request had a typo and arrangement was dropped off to the next door neighbor, omg! Kimberly from the shop reached out to confirm the delivery and was extremely helpful in setting things straight. It took no time to make sure the delivery was made to the correct address and confirmed it via phone call. What a relief! Kimberley even offered to arrange a gift for the next door neighbor who decline the delivery as she knew it was not meant for her. Truly happy to say I am one happy customer who experienced awesome customer service from Kimberly and Bob. I will be sure to order again from them when occasion arise.

Very easy to get via several buses that stop on and around Metropolitan Avenue. Every time I've come here I've always been warmly greeted and offered a free chocolate. They give you a choice between dark, milk and white. They have so many different kinds of items. Not just chocolate. Candy, hot/cold drinks, ice cream, etc. Some of the items are pretty pricey. Like the boxes of chocolate, but believe me, it is worth EVERY cent. They do have a shelf of discounted chocolate items. Its the last shelf in the back on the right-hand side. It'll have previous holiday chocolates for half price. Last week I got a chocolate flag for only $4.25. It was still fresh and delicious. Their stuff is so good that even just a simple milk chocolate Valentines heart on a stick is satisfying delicious. They have chocolate covered Oreo's and Twinkies. Everything is handmade and you can tell! Don't forget to sign up for their rewards. You get 1 point for every dollar you spend. Once you reach 250 points, you get a $25 gift card. If you pay in cash your order will come out to less as well. I look forward to my next visit. The friendly service and dynamite chocolate will always keep me coming back!

CHOCOLATE GALORE!!…read more This chocolate confectionery business somewhat has an old school aesthetic appeal. Quaint. Upon entering the scent is delightfully sweet chocolate permeates all senses and awakens the spirit. Sometimes chocolate can heal broken hearts. However, I believe the most powerful source of healing is genuine love. There are lollypops, hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream, bars, truffles, caramels, cordials, solid milk and dark chocolate shaped hearts and red liquorice. Sports theme and shaped chocolate are also available. I have entered a chocolate party. Aigner must have good mold to make their creations and certainly made on site. Samples are distributed. Customer service is welcoming and attentive. Gift boxes are available and purchases are issued in a nice gift quality paper bag industry standard $0.05 with a post card description of their business and company history. I was browsing their selection and my eyes are surely bigger than my stomach and wallet. Business cards are available for keepsake. Aigner is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54 on Metropolitan Avenue in Queens, NYC. Foiled Hearts $14.95 This product is nostalgia brew. It reminded me of Valentine's Day, every year growing up being educated in NYC Board Of Education public elementary school and one year of public junior high school where every student receive two (2) red foiled heart shaped milk chocolate which was a privilege. As a kid, it was a sweet treat and the highlight of the year. Oh, goodie goodie gosh! I found this same exact product at Aigner which reminded me idyllic, wistful times of what was. Rum Cordial $12.95 Small balls center filled rum covered in chocolate was a happy ending for a celebratory day. Nota Bene: There is a 2.05% surcharge fee for credit/debit payment transactions. This time I did absorbed this annoying fee. The sales associate did not inform me of this fee upon payment, ergo four stars. I would return again and again.

It was slightly disorganized but I think it was mostly due to the amount of customers they had that day.

Surely, my eyes are bigger than my stomach (including wallet). I have always been gravitated to old establishments where there is a long history, period atmosphere decor and the charm. It is family owned and operated since year 1925. Schmidt's Confectionery has been on my Yelp bookmarks for what I felt like an eternity. Previously, I have attempted to patronized during the summer, but it is closed for the summer months partly due the heat and humidity which affects working with ingredients and not optimal temperatures. It is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit elevated J train on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard station in Woodhaven, Queens, NYC. However, I walked forty (40) minutes from my home to this business. Upon entering the atmosphere has a redolent chocolate aroma with history and tradition which is intoxicating. There are chocolate lollypops, chocolate covered fruit, nuts, truffles, caramels, but I was hoping for chocolate covered strawberries. I abhor caramel. I despise nuts (despite not allergic). I like truffles. I like thin mints, chocolate covered graham crackers and have a predilection for plain solid milk chocolate. It is run by a woman who is the granddaughter of the founder albeit welcoming and helpful. I would surely return again for chocolate lollypops, chocolate money coins. I do hope Schmidt's have chocolate hearts. At first sight, I could not decide since everything was very enticing and alluring too good. I decided cherry cordials. She shown me a mid-size box of approximately twenty (20) pcs priced $30.00, which I asked if there is a smaller box as a option available followed by she asked if I want either dark, milk or white chocolate type. Oh! Someone who finally listens and heed the hope within my mind, WOW! Customer service is attentive and a personalized shopping experience. She gifted the box with mediocre curling ribbons which I have worked in a high-end retail specialty paper store and trained to use either double-sided satin or organza ribbons - never used curling ribbons. She did distributed a sales receipt. There is a scale if customers were to purchase by the pound. Business cards are available for grabs which is now part of my business card collection in a shoe box. Cherry cordials, box of 8 pcs, $10.00 I was completely sold for this small box. I actually taste the handmade and homemade decadence concoction of milk chocolate. It did tasted fresh and too good to give it away as a gift which I ended up consuming entirely! I delightfully enjoyed my cherry cordials with half a glass of white wine. Wooho! The stems from the cherries are visible. This candy store is certainly reminiscent of earlier times frozen in place. As time is fleeting, I hope Schmidt's Confectionery will continue to operate indefinitely.

There's usually a line of some length during peak hours and especially around the holidays. You can tell by the sheer volume of baked goods and cakes available in their window displays that they sell a lot daily. This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. It's absolutely amazing, and the filling is very generous--it feels like heaven in every bite. Another favorite of mine is the chocolate layer cake: rich, velvety smooth chocolate that isn't overly sweet. The only thing I don't agree with is that they do not clearly tell customers that dining in adds an extra $1 charge to each item. Yes, check your receipt. I'm expected to tip my waitstaff and also pay an extra dollar per item just because I chose to dine in. For example, the cupcake is usually $4.75 to go, but they charged me an extra $1 for dining in. Their cake slices are usually $9.50 to go, but I was charged $10.50. I also tipped 20%, so the added charge felt frustrating, especially since there was no clear notice. When I asked the waitstaff about the $1 charge, she said it was entered that way because I dined in. When I later called about it, the manager simply said, "Next time, just order to go if you don't want to be charged extra." That response was disappointing, especially since there was no visible sign explaining this policy, and their dine-in menu does not show separate pricing. I really think management should fix this to avoid misleading customers. Transparency matters. Don't get me wrong--I would still come back because their cakes are amazing, but from now on, I'll always order everything to go.
