I've gone here several times since moving to the area. They have an extensive selection. The boyfriend usually ends up finding something he didn't even know he needed (like how I am at Target). The staff is helpful too. I usually have to track someone down for help, but once I find someone, they're great. Plenty of parking and right by King Soopers, so you can knock out more than one errand at once. read more

This Ace Hardware is the worst Ace there is. They never have enough people to help you. The employees will walk right by you without asking if you need help when it is clear you are lost. They have very limited supplies for everything, and have very high prices. It's sad because I know some Ace Hardwares are great, this is just not one of them. Next time I will drive the extra few miles to go to another one. read more

Ace has apparently decided that the way to set itself apart from the big-box stores is to offer excellent customer service. The service at this store is amazing! I am always greeted when I walk in, and I always receive multiple offers of assistance as I am walking around. The employees will help you find everything you need for a project from start to finish. They seem to genuinely care about providing a good experience for their customers. Plus, they often serve munchies, and there is a post office right there in the store! Well done, Ace! read more

I had some seriously lousy customer service at this Ace location. I have shopped at this Ace several times, so I was quite surprised by this incident. I was looking for a specific item on Ace Hardware's website and it showed that they carried it at this location. I called the store to verify that they actually did before I drove down to be safe. Upon calling I was transferred to the correct department and put on hold while the clerk looked for the product. 5 minutes on hold turned into 10 minutes. Still holding. I hung up, cursed a few times, and called them back. When I called them back I was transferred to the same department, talked to the same guy, and was put on hold. Again. Around 5 minutes later I was told that "he" wasn't sure what he was looking for. I said, "Hmm...well, your website says you have it in the store. Can you see what I'm talking about on the website? Or look it up by its name?" The clerk seemed puzzled by both of these questions and he wasn't much help after that. I thanked him and decided I'd just drive over and check for myself. I was at the store literally fifteen minutes later when I made my way back to the department to talk to the clerk. The item in question is not something used by a lot of people and I can't imagine this guy thought I could have been a different person asking for it. I was really expecting some kind of acknowledgement of my two previous inquires within the half-hour. That was not the case. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I was talking to the same "Clueless Joe." I asked him to please look it up on their website to confirm they had it. After I helped him figure out how to do that, the website showed the item was in stock and at the store. He looked again and was unable to confirm or deny that they actually had the item. I felt like I was on an impossible scavenger hunt, so I left without my item and went to another store that was more helpful. Maybe next time Ace will do me a kindness and make good on their motto as "the helpful place." read more

He walked out with me to my car to make sure he was going to get the correct bolts, then he walked out again to make sure they properly fit and changed out the plates right there. I like Ace Hardware in general. You can usually find what you want and if you are lucky, can score some free popcorn as well. This particular location is very close to home and, as such, as saved my butt on numerous occasions. I have found the staff to be particularly helpful and I usually find what I need (if slightly more expensive than at other places). I will pay a bit more to not drive across town looking for a part and in my life, time is of the essence. Somehow, Ace feels less intimidating to me than a Home Depot or Lowe's, so if I'm on my own I'll usually head here first. read more

It's a little more expensive that the big box stores, but you're paying a bit of a premium for the proximity to your house and those friendly, helpful, smock-wearing hardware geeks that follow you around the store. Even if you absolutely know what you're doing and exactly what you need, it doesn't hurt to talk to one of these guys/girls about your project. They might have some obscure, valuable insight that will save you time and money. read more

I really like the customer service and shopping experience at Ace, so this experience came as a surprise and a complete let-down. There was one stand-out employee that went out of his way to be rude and inconsiderate. I went in to have a lock re-keyed. After waiting close to 20 minutes for somebody to help me (which I was totally ok with) the employee came by to help me out. Everything about his actions indicated that he was inconvenienced to have to do this. He was flat out rude and arrogant. After almost breaking my lock and needing assistance from a competent employee, he asked me if I had bought the locks at that location. I told him that I believe I had - but he went ahead and charge me the $10!!! anyway. What a complete D*ck. I'll go out of my way to avoid this store now, and not just because of the used needles in the parking lot. Way to go. read more

We had a water heater problem last week, my Dad went to Home Depot and came back with the wrong type of pipe, the screw in part was the wrong size. He went twice and both times it was wrong, he was tired and frustrated; I took the old one to Ace with no idea whatsoever of what to get and the young man there, I didn't get his name but he was tall and thin with a beard, gave me the right piece and was very nice about it. I had a good experience there earlier in the year when we painted some rooms. They have very good customer service! Thank you, Ace! read more

I came to the store at 7:55 and the door was shut and the cashier was letting out the customer after check out. When I asked what time you close she said 8pm. I said it's not 8 yet. She very rudely snapped at me saying my computer says it's 8 and my manager told me to close....and shut the door on my face. Never going back here. read more

I'd give this Ace store 3 stars, but I have to add a 4th because I just found out there's a USPS desk in the back that's open till 6pm weekdays. So awesome! The Ace itself is clean, well lit, organized and full of helpful staff. But my biggest complaint is that many things are just more expensive than Home Depot and even Lowe's. I come here because it's walking distance and always get the help I need, but can't always find the item I need. And if I do, I usually leave grumbling because I know I overpaid. Yesterday I saw the exact same blue plastic wading pool I bought at Walmart for $15 for almost twice that. But I don't want places like this to go out of business and be left with only Walmarts and Home Depots as options, so I will keep stopping in for that reason. And maybe for the free popcorn. It's a lot less of a cluster getting in and out of Ace compared to the hassle of a big box/warehouse store because it's just smaller and a lot less crowded. read more

I recently moved to the area from Broomfield. Only hardware place up there is Home Depot. Wonderful to have an Ace right down the street. These folks are enormously helpful. Their paint beats Behr all to heck. I can send any member of the family to pick up things and they are always given great advice. I also love the fact that I can buy screws, nails, and other hardware by the pound. No need to buy packages of 47 of everything when I only need 3. Keep it up, Ace! read more

I have conflicted reviews about this Ace - I've left satisfied and frustrated on different occasions. This store has a very small selection... Of everything. One perk is that they have a post office, which you're guaranteed to spend little to no time in line. The staff is friendly and helpful too. I purchased a grill from these guys and had a small issue with it when I got home from work to cook dinner. (They had delivered it during the day) With nice gourmet steaks in hand, I was excited to use it. I was bummed when it looked like I was not going to be grilling that night. Spoke to the Asst Store Manger on his cell phone and he wasn't even working! He sent someone over from the store to help fix! Now THAT is customer service. I am over the lousy big box store customer service - they just don't care. I'd rather pay a little more and get taken care of. I actually asked the guy at Lowe's a grilling question who WORKED in the grill Dept and he said "I don't know - I don't grill," and walked off. read more

I stopped by Ace to find a specific hex nut needed to repair the hatch handle on my car. I came to this location after not getting much help at another Ace location. I first spoke to Will, who gave me a quick lesson on the different types of nuts available and then walked me out to my car to take a closer look at the hatch handle. He tried several sizes, to no avail, and when another customer came in to ask for his help specifically, Will called over Bruce, another associate, to help me. Bruce took the time to go through the dozens of different sizes in the store. I was clueless to the fact that there were so many options and they were both very patient with me. I finally was able to pry the hatch handle off so they wouldn't have to walk back and forth to see how the nuts fit, and when I did Bruce was able to find the right size immediately. Will and Bruce were incredibly helpful and the entire staff was very pleasant. read more
