He was able to fix it up and restore the edge! I specifically chose Ike initially because I wanted to someone who would sharpen my knives by hand(ish). He uses stone wheels, and that makes it much much faster than a whetstone. For people who provide sharpening services, I feel like I see the wheels or belts most often. After a little bit on the wheel, he finishes with a leather strop! My knives came out super sharp, and he sent me on my way pretty quickly! I don't remember just how long, but it couldn't have been longer than 30-40 minutes! Pricing is super fair as well! He charged a different fee for the edge restoration, which was also more than fair. I got my first set of nice ZWILLING knives and I was excited to have my first set of nice knives sharpened for the first time. I saw the fantastic reviews and was optimistic. However, upon getting them sharpened, I received my brand new knives back with scuff marks. I figured maybe it was normal and it would come out overtime but it has been over a year and they're still there. I feel a lot of regret sending my knives here to be sharpened because aesthetically they don't look good anymore. Additionally, I was not a fan of the communication when scheduling, she arrived an hour earlier which in theory could be nice? But I had to send a family member over to take care of the knives since I scheduled my work hours to be available at the time we initially agreed upon. Had I been there I more than likely would've asked about the scuff marks. I'm glad other people had wonderful results here, but I unfortunately had a very regretful experience and now the knives I saved up for look bad.

Earlier he'd told me how he services a bunch of fantastic sam's and how these ladies would throw around and bang their sheers up and he'd have to fix them as they constantly bought new sheers every two months. I had a couple of kitchen knives that needed sharpening, one a high-end knife and the other a cheap one. The owner, an elderly gentleman who gave off an aura of a supreme master of knives, carefully examined each knife and said he could sharpen both. I paid the fee and was told they would be ready in a couple days. Four days later I called and was told the knives were ready for pick up. Both were sharpened nicely, like new. The cheap knife, which originally had some damage to the blade, was repaired and looked like the day it was bought 20 years ago. We are happy to have both of these knives back in our kitchen, ready to slice away. While I was there, I asked if they had any kitchen scissors and I was shown a couple of options. The differences between them were explained so I could make the best choice. I bought a pair and have been very happy with them!
