It has been over 10 years since I have done an observation deck in NYC. On our recent trip I wanted to visit one we haven't been to before so I picked the Edge. I ordered the tickets that came with a glass of champagne to surprise my wife. The weather was beautiful on the day we visited. It was a cooler day, but there wasn't much wind so it was comfortable outside. The 360° views are amazing. Tickets were reasonably priced and we were able to see the buildings we wanted to (Empire State building, Chrysler, One World Trade Center, etc.).

The tickets were affordable, and the views of the city were absolutely amazing. Being up there gives you a whole new perspective of New York City, it's definitely a great experience. The atmosphere is exciting and worth checking out if you're visiting. On my visit it was cold so it wasn't crowded as I expected, but overall it's still a must-see spot!

One of the best views if you want to see the entire Manhattan New York, it's definitely worth it since it has a lot of space and the view is amazing. Also, inside the edge there are shopping malls, and places to eat.

This is a MUST if you are visiting NYC. If you are afraid of heights, then you might want to skip it. I was told that the views are great either by day or night, but we decided to go at night. The view is breath taking no matter what time you go. We did visit in October, so it was cold there. I had to keep going inside to get warmed up. There is also an area where the floor is glass, and you can see the city below you. I couldn't step on it. My mind kept telling me that it was fine. but my legs wouldn't walk across it.

Absolutely STUNNING views of NYC. Just WOW! If you want to see city lights this is the place to see them. The views are unbeatable. This experience was so memorable and magical. We loved it so much. They had a Pink Pop Up that night so we took some cutesy photos with pink and yellow bananas, a pink statue of liberty and pink snow globe. They were also selling affordable bites and adorable pink souvenirs.

Visited the Edge this morning. It was very easy to locate in Hudson Yards with signs. Pre-ordered tickets online so there wasn't a line or a wait. There are some photos ops on the elevator up. The elevator takes you 100 flights up. The Museum of Ice Cream is having a pinkmas event there. Definitely adds pops of colors to the environment. Any food or ice cream is an additional charge. Many opportunities and areas to take photos of the city and beyond. It wasn't overly crowded. There was lots of space to walk and take pictures without people in your background. It does get chilly and windy so best to take a jacket dependent on the season. Must do once or on a special occasion. Tickets can be pricey, so try to look for deals.

Great views of the city everyone- tourists amd locals . Tickets times are well managed so it's not too crowded and still possible to get pics without lots of people in the background. Located in Hudson yard gives you alot of options for food and shopping ,making it a complete outing in one space. There is a nice restaurant at the top and bar at the entrance if you don't want to venture in the Hudson Mall itself. The gift shop has some really good options. Bathrooms available Tips- check weather prior to visit for best visibility. Dress appropriately for the weather as the outdoor area is completely uncovered. Think very cold/windy or super hot depending on the time of year. 7 train station right outside the building.

I was on the fence about checking out the Edge, being that we had already done something similar with the View from the Shard in Central London, not long before that. But we needed something to kill the time that was close enough to the hotel we were staying at without needing to use the train, before we set off for the Oasis show. Fortunately, my wife was on board with checking out the Edge on the 100th floor of Hudson Yards, as the view is quite spectacular. It is a little pricey to go check out. For two people, the cost is approximately $110 after tax, etc. If you want photos that show you in front of different backdrops, they usually cost $45, but drop to $40 if you are indecisive and back out. The staff we spoke to weren't clear on whether the magnet we wanted to have our picture placed on would be included or not. The person we talked to on the top floor said it was included in the purchase. The ones on the 4th floor, when we returned, said it wasn't and mentioned it would be a line item on the receipt. They also weren't the easiest to communicate with, so that was irritating. Outside of that, the views were amazing. The glass that surrounds the outdoor observation deck is at least four thick panes that seem very durable. There is also a glass floor that allows you to look directly down 100 floors to the bottom, where you can see 10th Avenue. You have uninhibited views of the Hudson where you can see the Financial District with the World Trade Tower and the Statue of Liberty in the further distance, as well as Brooklyn with the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, Central Park, and up the river seeing the rest of Manhattan into the start of what is the Hudson Valley. They also offer cocktails on the outdoor observation deck, which was nice to enjoy palomas while we enjoyed the view. They also have a restaurant on the next floor up if you are so inclined.

Pretty cool views of the city. I've been to almost all of the observation decks in Manhattan and this one is like the others. Nothing super special, but it's a good view. I'm deathly afraid of heights, but my husband hadn't been to Manhattan before, so seeing the city from this high up is a necessity I feel like. You wouldn't catch me standing on the glass on the floor that you can look straight down on the city or standing on the Edge glass panels, but it's still cool. It was cool to watch the sunset from up there.

    Roxanne E.

Awesome Place! For anyone who loves heights and amazing views, this is the place to be, especially at night when the city lights dazzle. It's been a few years since my last visit, but I have my sights set on returning soon. Very cool place.

Uhhh, it's a great view. That's probably about it. You can access via elevator on the 4th or 5th floor of the Shops; from there, you'll walk along a few ornate shops until you reach staff who will check your ticket, then take another elevator to the 110th floor to the top (the elevator ride is the best part of the experience). The view is spectacular, but personally, I think the novelty dies out quickly. Probably best not to waste money on a ticket and instead get invited here for free for a work or celebratory event, where you can enjoy the view along with a drink from their rooftop bar. We did the Skytop Yoga experience, so we at least got to enjoy yoga while the sun rose, and I'd recommend that as long as you're willing to wake up early.

This was our last experience in the city. 100 floors high and the elevator gets up there in 52 seconds! It goes so fast it feels like you're flying. Edge is located on the 4th floor of Hudson Yards. It's a great experience and so worth it. They even have a glass floor area that you can stand on for a photo op. I'm so scared of heights so it took me some courage but I stood on it and even sat on it. Beautiful views of the city at all angles. Even of the Hudson River.

I think this was an amazing experience. I had this place as our first "tourist" destination on the itinerary. The views up top were incredible. So I purchased my tickets weeks in advance, planning every stop accordingly so we don't run circles around the big apple. I'm one of those guys. Planning a perfect day weeks in advance. That's me. Anyways! Located at 30 Hudson Yards in the big apple is the highest observation deck in the WESTERN HEMISPHERE! A breath taking experience. Amazing views of New York. Just a pro tip. Go early in the AM. It gets hot up there. You're over 100 stories closer to the sun, you can really feel it up there. Just be ready to put out a sweat not only from the heat but also the knee buckling glass floor. Man was that scary! You get 360 degree views and photo ops to share a lifetime with your family. My fearless 1.5 year old daughter was not impressed with the glass floor she was pulling me closer so we could take a photo. Overall an amazing experience. Yes we purchased photos. How often do you get to do that? Also just a heads up don't expect all the people who work for this place to be all smiles or happy to be there. We did experience some employees on the unprofessional side. Some really needed to be trained or retrained the steps on providing customer service. In guessing that New York water had something to do with it. I'm not sure but just beware not everyone is going to provide top tier service. But! Some were outstanding so always be polite and courteous so you can at the least be treated with respect. And after you're done with the edge go shopping downstairs! Lots of stores to explore! All in all, great experience.

Is the elevator ride going up/down so fast that it's scary? I have a kind of fear of falling.

The elevator ride is like any regular elevator. It's not actually a glass elevator where you can see the outside. It does however display different views on its screens inside the elevator.

Do you need a vaccination card to go there now?

Nope... but have a photo of it anyway on your phone.

When is the best time to go? Would a Monday at 7:00pm for the sunset still be an hour wait?

Hi, yes always try to get there at least 1 hour & half before sunset. That way you can get a good spot, Since there will be a lot of people for the same reason. We went on a Monday around 5pm and it was packed! Hope this helps and have fun!

Does anyone know the hours? It says 10am opening on google but their website has tickets starting at the 8am-9am slot.

Is visiting the edge free of charge?

No you need to buy tickets

Are photos allowed to be taken with a dslr camera or just a cellphone?

Camera doesnt matter. But if u want to take a picture in that famous corner, i believe theres a 30 second or 45 second time limit. So u better be ready when its your turn

How long was the wait to get to the roof with an appointment?

My reservation was at 1:30pm and it took us an hour to get to the top.

    Is it an office building?

It is located inside the Hudson Yards mall.

Entry to the top is through the "Observation Deck" entrance on the north side of the building (on W 50th St). Tickets were provided by our group, apparently one per family. After it got scanned, we went up the stairs to the mezzanine level and into an enclosed area. This area had a wide screen similar in size to the Immersive Theater in the Statue of Liberty Museum. A 5-minute film was shown summarizing 30 Rock's history, glitz and glamor. It culminated with a Christmas segment accompanied by a literal shower of snowflakes on us from the ceiling. "Now that's immersive," I thought. The door at the other end opened. We continued on until we entered the Welcome Gallery. At the far end, a staff member stood before a hall of elevators that would take us to the 67th floor. To our left was a miniature model of Rockefeller Center with light show and music. We were then directed a few at a time by the staff member to a specified elevator. Inside the elevator, an audio/visual material played from the ceiling almost like a fanfare to what was coming next. At the 67th floor, a staff member directed us to head right. I took in the view of the city skyline through the windows. Taking pictures was difficult due to limited field of view behind the walls. The unobstructed balcony view would be found on the 69th and 70th floors. Wife and Son weren't comfortable with heights so they hung out in the Weather Room. I was similarly acrophobic but that didn't stop me from taking the escalator to the 69th. After I got off the escalator, I saw the Beam to my right. Situated entirely on the deck and a maximum elevation of 10 feet from the floor, it didn't look as scary as the people sitting on it made it out to be. My attention quickly turned towards the balcony. From left to right as far as the eye could see, the unobstructed view was overwhelming. Reigning in my acrophobia - which was increasing the longer I remained at the Top - took effort. I proceeded to take pictures of the skyline. The 70th floor above me was accessible by stairs. The view was better. The Beam looked a lot less scary from the 70th floor. As I approached the windows, my breaths got slower and heavier. Taking each picture was laborious because the sunlight made it difficult to see my phone while managing the acrophobia at the same time. Yet I got through it and promptly went down. The experience at the Top of the Rock was much more enjoyable than that at the Empire State Building (ESB) back in Sep 2008. The wait line was much shorter (45 minutes alone just waiting for the elevator to get on top of the ESB). Top of the Rock didn't feel rushed. It offers a lot more space and more time to take it all in. I definitely recommend this place. If I ever return to New York City, I would like to try a different skyscraper (definitely not the ESB) for the next view from the top.

It's such a different experience now. 20 years ago, I remember just walking into the lobby, buying a ticket, and heading up to the observation deck. But today? You enter in a different spot, and it's a whole experience. There's a "museum" now and you can spend more time here than just taking in the views from the 86th floor. So why go? It was the world's tallest building when it was completed in 1931 and until the North Tower of the World Trade Center was completed in 1970. (Sad aside: It became NYC's tallest building again after 9/11 until was surpassed by One World Trade Center in 2012.) It features gorgeous art deco architecture and design. It's a cultural icon (one of my favorite parts of the museum experience was a room where you can see dozens of film clips which feature the Empire State Building). The new experience includes exhibits that explain the history, design, and construction of the building. What I learned about its construction was particularly interesting! The construction of the building involved more than 3,500 workers, many of who were Irish and Italian immigrants, and led to an unknown number of deaths of workers (official reports say 5, newspapers at the time reported higher numbers). While I felt this museum addition really added to the experience of visiting the Empire State Building, it has also certainly made visiting the building more expensive. So let's get down to the brass tacks. The base ticket (which gets you entry into everything up to the 86th floor) is $44 for adults, $42 for seniors, and $38 for children (plus a $5 booking charge for each transaction). If you want to visit the 102nd floor for that additional observation deck, it's $79 for adults, $77 for seniors, and $73 for children (plus the booking charge). Then there are ways to spend even more money: a Starbucks Reserve Sunrise ticket ($135 per person); an Express Pass (starting at $85/120 per person); a Premium Experience ($175 per person); and All-Access Tour ($500 per person)... I'm generally not into these expensive view experiences that have popped up all over NYC. But the Empire State Building is special. It's an icon and a view. But I still wasn't willing to pay $80 to visit, so we stuck with the base ticket that gets you access only to the 86th floor observatory. The 86th Floor Observatory contains an enclosed viewing gallery and open-air outdoor viewing area. It's the classic observatory you've seen in movies. And it was certainly enough for me - the museum and the 86th floor observatory! Don't miss/rush through the original main lobby as you leave the experience. Or - if you're not willing to pay for the experience to see the view - stop in at the lobby on its own - it's open to the public (follow the signs for the Starbucks Reserve which is entered through this lobby). The lobby is gorgeous - marble, terrazzo, a scale model of the building... But the highlight is that aluminum relief of the skyscraper as it was originally built (without the antenna). It's incredible. It's an icon for a reason, and it was fun to visit and to see it again after so many years. They've certainly made it more of an experience than it used to be (although now, you can't just pop by for the view on a pretty day, since it's prohibitively expensive for a quick visit), but I had a really good time.

Located at the summit of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, the observatory offers sweeping panoramic views that capture the full scale of the New York skyline. The atmosphere begins building even before reaching the top. The elevator ride itself is part of the experience, featuring a visual timeline that shows the transformation of New York City's skyline over several centuries as you ascend the tower. By the time you reach the observation level, the sense of height and perspective is already striking. The observation deck offers unobstructed views in every direction. From the windows, visitors can see landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Hudson River, and Midtown Manhattan stretching into the distance. The indoor design keeps the environment comfortable year-round while still delivering dramatic views of the city. The experience also includes interactive exhibits and multimedia displays that help visitors understand the geography, neighborhoods, and history of New York. These elements add context and depth rather than simply presenting the skyline as a visual spectacle. Service throughout the observatory felt organized and professional. Staff guide visitors efficiently through the entry process and help maintain a smooth flow even during busy periods. From a global travel perspective, One World Observatory ranks among the great urban observation decks I have visited in cities like Tokyo, Shanghai, and Dubai where skyline views become a defining part of the travel experience.

(He hated travel by boat) His traffic corridor was never realized, but his enterprising great grandson Paul St. George recently discovered the mysterious blueprints of his great-grandfather's incomplete dig. The younger St. George has installed fiberoptic cables running under the Atlantic, through the completed tunnel, from the Brooklyn Bridge to London's Tower Bridge, allowing New Yorkers and Londoners to greet each other in real time, across the pond! St. George's story is so intriguing and fanciful--and it really is quite a marvel to wave at our friends over in London and see them wave back. In fact, it's so much fun to tickle our brains with St. George's fantasy, don't you dare think for a second about skype, cellphones, the internet, streaming video or other inventions of our non-Victorian age, or your creeping doubts may just ruin this enchanting tale. Go see it for yourself, until June 15th.

I can only hope my favorite artists decide on better venues for their shows in the future.

Historically speaking I had never been to the Queens Theatre before the other night when I caught…read morethe NYC appearance by the band Rolling Quartz. The band had embarked on their North American tour from their native South Korea. Since I had never seen the band before as well, the adventure to a new space for me made the whole thing more interesting to me. Now I travel via the MTA, and from Bay Ridge this event space is a bit of a hike. It's the R train to the N to the 7 to a fairly decent walk. Those who are driving or taking an Uber might have a little better trek experience than I did but that being said once I made it past the famed Unisphere and over to New York State Pavilion, it was time to go into the Queens Theatre. When I arrived there were already about 100 attendees lined up because the band was doing all sorts of VIP things with them. A cool part of the agenda for sure. Inside the theatre is a spacious lobby area with seating all around near the windows. There are concessions there but I only saw drinks being sold when I looked. There was a small merchandise table for the band set up and I imagine that when other shows happen here this will be their space as well. Right off the bat I connected to a complimentary WiFi signal which was good but seemed to go on and off during the course of the performance. Once I was in the actual performance space I was quite impressed. The stage is sizable which was great because this was a five member band with a full backline and the seats were oh so comfortable. Yes this was a Rock Show and people would likely be standing throughout the performance but when it was time to sit you could do so in comfort. I positioned myself in the eighth or so row on the aisle since I needed to shoot photographs and I was happy to report that there were no bad sightlines in the theater. The sound was also clear and impressive which was partially a testimony to the bands team on the tour. While I didn't get to explore the venue all that much outside of the show, I did see one of the spacious side rooms which I guess they do talks in or smaller events. The band has set up their meet and greets there so it was in and out in terms of time to examine. There was a complimentary WiFi that I did find to be spotty at times but I feel this was based on the amount of people choosing to live stream the show. There were obviously restrooms and while I can only speak for the men's facility it was quite clean which is always a pleasant find. Overall this was a great experience for me but I cannot fathom when and if I might make a return based on the logistics and scarcity of what most interests me happening here. I will be keeping tabs on their calendar for good measure just in case and maybe some other localized Hard Rock bands can look into it or even local promoters who wish to do something that is no too crazy.

We had a hard time finding parking as the show was about to start and the park is always busy. There were two small lots nearby that were full. Upon entering check in was easy. It was very informative and entertaining. I enjoyed the different styles of dances performed, the colorful outfits, the creative scenery (which was simple but effective). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting again.
