So many floors, wings, artists, I was delirious. I was there with a group for three hours but I could've easily spent 6. I loved the gift shop. They have great books, puzzles and home goods! I would've loved to see more Warhol pieces but I'll take what I can get. I left feeling very stimulated

MoMA offers free admission to NY residents on Fridays - if you can sign up in advance. Growing up in NY, I've been to MoMA many times. I've even dined at their restaurant, The Modern. It's a great museum but it's not very inviting. For example, I tried to visit a few weeks ago. I went to the nearest entrance. It was freezing. The guard wouldn't let me in to avoid the cold, scowled, gave off bad vibes and then told me to walk to the other entrance while he allowed museum members in. That's a long walk in this cold weather! I know that's the way they do things but give me a break. The museum restricts certain items, such as large bags and backpacks. I posted a photo of the sign with the list of restricted items.

If you visit New York or even if you live here you definitely have to visit MoMA at least once. They have a constant rotation of art and events so getting a membership might be a good idea if you live nearby. I came here for the Frida and Diego The Last Dream exhibition since I'm a fan of her artwork. It was laid out beautifully although I would have liked it in a larger space since it was crowded. But overall I was happy about it

This museum is a delight to the senses. The layout is nice and there is soo much to see. You have to come here. Happy Yelping!

This museum has multiple floors of and tons of galleries to explore. There are people throughout the museum to provide information or help you with directions. Really impressive works of art and the tickets are not too bad. Booked ahead of time and didn't have any issues. There was also free bag and coat check which was helpful. Posted a picture of the dust. Every ledge was completely covered in dust! They need a cleaning crew!

MOMA is a great time, even for the non-artistic types like me. Plenty to see and experience, and while crowded, it's still a good time. There is staff present throughout the floors, and the museum has something to offer just about everyone. And they'll let you into the lobby a 1/2 hour early so you don't have to wait in the cold. Now, while I am still going with 5 stars, there are some things I didn't like. The museum doesn't really flow well. There were times I had to backtrack to get to the next section, as you end up going into dead ends rather than things flowing circularly or rectangularly. There are also stairs in some sections and escalators in others, and some take you into one area of a floor but not the other, so if you want to see an entire floor, you have to figure out which one takes you where. It was a little difficult and annoying as well. Also, and this is minor in the general scheme of things, but it is what it is. There are 2 cafes at the museum, and I was expecting them to be snack-bar type cafes. But they're not, they're full on, wait to be seated, formal dining cafes. I wasn't looking for a full-on dining experience, just a quick snack. So that was disappointing. Overall, though, this is a great time. Even for kids.

I am not a big Modern Art lover, but MoMA does have a lot more than abstract colorful artwork. It has some great masterpieces like Starry Night (Van Gogh), The Persistance of Memory (Dali), Campbell's Soup Cans (Warhol) and Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (Picasso) just to name a few. I enjoyed getting audio descriptions by getting on the APP and listening to some of the stories behind the pieces...that really makes a difference. Check that tool out next time you are at MoMA or any other museum.

A great museum all around. The 5th floor is where they keep a lot of the best classics like Picasso, Matisse, and Monet. You'll see the huge crowds around Starry Night and Monet's water lillies. The gift shop is also just as fun to look around in.

I loved this museum. I never thought that I would see so many Picasso's as well a renowned artist paintings. They have Van Gogh's, Renoir, Seurat, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali's. I mean I was delighted walking around the many rooms floors and invited artists displays. Getting a ticket it was very easy. They have a long line of automatic ticket machines which make it very easy and quick to get you in. We loved it!

If you are heading to MoMA specifically for the Ruth Asawa retrospective, be prepared: it is absolutely breathtaking but incredibly crowded. This exhibit is a massive collection of her iconic hanging wire sculptures, and seeing them all together on the 6th floor is a spiritual experience. The shadows the sculptures cast on the walls are just as much a part of the art as the wire itself. The museum is huge and split into two sides (the newer Geffen wing to the west and the classic wing to the east). To avoid getting overwhelmed by the masses, start at the very top and work your way down. 1. Take the elevators straight to the 6th floor for Ruth Asawa first while your energy is high. 2. Then, walk down one flight at a time. The 5th floor has the "heavy hitters" (Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso), so that's where you'll hit the most traffic. 3. Continue down to the 4th and 2nd floors for the more contemporary and large-scale works, which tend to feel a bit more spacious. Starting from the top allows you to beat the "bottleneck" at the entrance and gives you a much more logical flow through art history. It's a lot of walking, so definitely plan for a break in the Sculpture Garden at the end! Whether you're an art history buff or just looking for a beautiful NYC afternoon, this exhibit is a must-see--just go in with a plan! My daughter and I enjoyed ourselves very much! Go for it!!

What happens when Uniqlo partners with MoMA? Free museum access for New York residents every Friday, starting at 5:30-8:30pm. The line moved quickly, and there was plenty of staff to scan QR codes, making entry very smooth. I was particularly excited to see the Jack Whitten Messenger exhibit on the 6th floor. I explored the museum from the top floor, working my way down. I took my time and thoroughly enjoyed each exhibit; it was breathtaking. There was plenty of space, so it wasn't crowded. I also appreciated that there's a restroom on each floor and that the lighting is good for photos of art pieces. Add the MoMa to your bucketlist!

My first time here and it was great, super clean, and all the workers are willing to talk to you about the art. It was cool seeing all the famous artist paintings in real life and I'll definitely be going back.

I visited the Museum of Modern Art quite frequently about 10 years ago, so i learned their collection well. I advise everyone to be patient and invest the time in learning in depth their gorgeous collection. Picasso, Bacon, Warhol, Dali, Beckmann, Klimt - are superb artists represented well in the museum.

One day I'll like to try a tour if available. This museum understands accommodations as well. I have trouble with blood sugar regulation that can have a sudden onset. Sometimes it's a battle explaining this at museums that don't allow outside food because they think I'm just trying to skirt the rules. I've never had an issue at MOMA. Speaking of the gift shop, there's an amazing number of things to see there, at a variety of price points, so if you're looking for a souvenir to bring back home or a gift for an upcoming event/occasion, there is a little something for everyone here. In terms of the art, again, variety is the spice of life, but it may be best to come up with a plan of attack first. The galleries themselves can be a bit labyrinthy (I know it's not a word, but it really fits here) and it's easy to miss things. Recommend going up to the top floor and working your way down, too.

That said, this place is a delight for folks like me who are interested in the history and lives of the Gilded Age robber barons in the City. The Library is housed in JP's mansion, with only the gorgeous rotunda at the original entrance, and the rooms that house the Library open to the public. While much of the library collection is in inaccessible to visitors and stored in stunning shelves and cases behind glass, many of the jewels Morgan acquired are on view for a closer look. Also on view on the main level are several sculptures, important musical scores (some acquired after Morgan's death - the Museum trustees use that high entry fee for acquisitions and preservation), small but important items from the ancient world, and a gorgeously decorated massive fireplace. The building expansion houses traveling and temporary art installations, many of which are consistent with Morgan's tastes in collecting. There's a lovely café behind the current first floor entry space, and a room with (generally) more contemporary artists being exhibited. Special exhibits are mostly upstairs and often include works with a religious theme (Bibles and psalters from many religious traditions and in many languages; a Caravaggio, Bellini and Perugino show; and other kinds of things like Renoir's drawings; music-themed exhibits; and one on story-telling through the centuries. The Frick Collection/Museum is a nice, albeit unspectacular experience. It's on a smaller scale than other ones I've done, taking about 1 hour to do. For the size, it seemed a little overpriced ($30), and the staff seemed disorganized getting our tour group through the check-in process. This is also the only museum/gallery I've been to that didn't allow pictures to be taken of the works and/or in the galleries. It can get a little congested, and there is staff in each room, almost stink-eying you as you look at the pieces, and standing there like Secret Service Agents. It was a little off-putting. Because it's also technically a mansion/house, most of the pieces don't have information displayed, and you have to download the app/audio guide to know what you're looking at. Overall, this is probably a 3.5-3.75, but you know the drill with Yelp and half/quarter stars. Normally, I'd round up, but in this case, I'm rounding down due to the staff. While not rude, the check-in process could've and should've been more organized, and the staff eye-balling people looking at the works wasn't something that projects a welcoming environment. There was a sign nearby that explained the balls were disinfected by some type of filtration system. Okay! Regardless of the poop smell, we all had a great time! And used lots of hand sanitizer afterwards.
