My toilet backed up. I've never had this happen before. I called Edgar & he was able to come in about an hour and half. In the meantime I did an online search for a remedy, which I was able to find, dawn dish soap & hot water. By the time Edgar got here I had cleared the toilet. He ran his camera, said it would take 1 or 2 days to get the machine to clear the line. I paid him for the camera search & he left. I called him a while later to ask for an invoice. He said it would take 1 or 2 days to provide. That was on 9-2. I haven't heard from him since. My son bought a very old house in Glendale. He has been working on projects all over the property. He recently discovered a sewer water pond underneath the raised floor. He called Edgar to come out and take a look and he asked me to help out while the family went to work and school. I meet Edgar on Monday morning and he quickly crawled up under the house and surveyed the problem. A few of the 4" cast iron pipes had cracked and were leaking. It was a very difficult problem because the sewer pipe went under a concrete porch. He quickly developed a plan to run new pipes around the porch. He also used an amazing camera to look through the sewer pipe all the way to the main pipe in the street while we watched on a video screen. We could see and I recorded all the root blockages with my phone. It was clear that the whole length of clay pipe across the front year needed to be replaced. He used an electronic probe, above the ground, to track the exact position of the camera's location all the way to the curb. Then they quickly dug a surprisingly neat 3' square hole straight down to the pipe. The next day, they brought more equipment that fused together 10 foot sections of 4" pipe into a 45' length. They dropped a hydraulic ram powered cable spool into the 7' deep hole by the curb and ran the 1" thick cable through the old pipe up to the house. They attached a large steel cone onto the cable and the long pipe onto that.. the hydraulic rams pulled the cable and long hose through the old pipe spreading it out of the way. It was a remarkable feat of engineering! Edgar and his crew managed to replace all the defective pipes under the house and all the way to the curb. They wasted no time. They were finished and all the holes were filled (and tamped down) by 1 pm on Tuesday! Edgar and his crew are extremely proficient at doing amazingly difficult things quickly. He charges a reasonable amount for his work. He is totally honest and always explains the best options to get the job done. He deserves my highest recommendation. read more

We had a leak in our downstairs ceiling which we attributed to the rain but the leak continued after it stopped raining. We discovered on Pandemic Easter Sunday that our kitchen faucet had a bad leak and we were pretty freaked as we're now prepping all meals at home and all the accompanying dishes and really rely on things working well. I called Edgar Monday morning and explained the situation. He told me he was going to his supplier and sent me pics of available faucets. I picked one, he purchased and was at our place installing in less than 30 minutes. I disinfected the workspace and he and his guy came in with masks and gloves and handled their business in like an hour like pros. I called Edgar because I recently moved into a condo where the tub spout was broken. It was mostly the diverter but I wanted the whole spout removed and replaced. For some reason the spout wasn't able to twist off like normal and after several attempts, I gave up and hesitantly called a plumber. The first plumber I called quoted me around $300+ which... surprised me because it was just a tub spout that needed removal. He said all this bullshit like he needed to cut through the drywall behind the wall to check the plumbing and then remove/replace the tiles, etc. Which all sounded way more complicated than it should be. Called Edgar next, and he quoted me half the price. His man Javier came exactly when he said he would, sawed the tub spout off (he said there was a compressor inside the tub spout that prevented it from being removed) and replaced it with a new spout. No complicated procedure necessary and the price stayed exactly the same that was quoted to me on the phone. The nicest part was 2 hours later, Javier came back to my place to replace a part of my tub spout with a better quality part without any extra charge. I didn't ask him to come back, he just came on his own and spent another 20 minutes replacing the part for me. I literally had to throw my money at him because he didn't want it. Let me just start off by saying that I created a Yelp account just so that I could review Edgar's plumbing, that's how EXCELLENT he and his service was. The following is a long review, but I'm really trying to capture how great Edgar and his service really is. I needed to replace my old rusty galvanized pipes with all copper piping, so I searched Yelp for highly rated and reviewed plumbers in my area. I came across Edgar listing, it only had two reviews (please do not let this stop you from calling him up) but the reviews were genuine so I called him up for an estimate. He came by the next day and gave me very honest opinions on what needed to be done. He never tried to up sell me on things I didn't need and he also re-enforced that everything would be done right. His overall quote was as the previous post said, extremely reasonable and he was willing to work with my budget. After getting several other verbal quotes from other plumber's, this is my advice to you, just call Edgar first and you won't have to waste your time or energy getting other estimates, Edgar's estimate was by far the best. After agreeing on the terms of the job (copper piping, tankless water heater install, sewer line clean out install, drainage pipe replacement, and rooting), Edgar and his assistant came out and went to work. It was originally estimated to be about a 5 day job, but they were very fast and completed everything in about 3.5 days. I'd like to also add they he is very trustworthy. I had to go to work while they were doing their installation, but they also needed to access some parts on the inside of my house. I just left him access to my house and just asked that he lock up when they leave, he did just that. After they were done, they took all the old pipes and junk with them and left the place clean (well clean for being under the house). I did however ask him to leave the old water heater with me so that I could recycle it for the tax credits, which he did. Overall, Edgar and his assistant did such a wonderful job and everything was done right (I say this because I went crawling around under my house to look at work they did). They did it quickly without cutting any corners and at such a reasonable price. I also want to add that beyond his plumbing expertise, honestly he's such a nice personable guy and I really like working with him. If you're still reading this, seriously, don't waste your time looking elsewhere and get Edgar to take care of your plumbing work. I wouldn't have taken the time to write this long review otherwise. read more

Edgar soon became my go to plumber after he responded for an emergency call when my sewer line from my house to the street basically disintegrated resulting in him working all day in the pouring rain digging up the line to replace it. But I had a stubborn Kitchen drain stoppage that couldn't be corrected despite my own attempts. Every contributor here has that one experience (hopefully good) that turns them from a Yelp lurker to a Yelp participant. This, my friends, is my 1st Yelp review so please be gentle. I had a small underground leak coming up from my front garden house from the pipe being wiggled back and forth over who-knows-how-many years. Because it was really close to the concrete driveway I had nightmares of expensive jackhammers tearing up my driveway just to get to the pipe before they could fix it. Fast forward a year as I refined my procrastination skills and after a weekend trip back from Vegas, I returned to find a steady stream of water spouting 12" in the air and flowing into the street. Doh! I shut off the water at the curb and did some soul searching for why I wasn't better at Blackjack so I could pay for this! After a few weeks of going to the curb to turn the main water on and off multiple times a day (I know, I know - taking procrastination to the next level) I finally broke down. Yelp to the rescue! I called Edgar and he was able to come out that day. I thought he'd just be able to give me an estimate, but after he looked at it and did some digging, he realized he was not going to have to break out the heavy tools to cut concrete and that he would be able to fix it through the small opening in the dirt. Hallelulah! I guess I'm not going to have to eat Ramen for the next 6 months! The price was actually so unbelievably low compared to my worst fears that I gave him 10% extra as a thank you. I had a backed up toilet and shower and it turned out that I needed to replace part of my sewer line because tree roots had completely clogged the pipe. Edgar gave a reasonable estimate and he and his worker completed the job in 1 day. I was impressed by how fast they were able to dig the trench to remove the pipe. He also relocated my cleanout to where it was supposed to be. I have subsequently used Edgar to fix a stopped up sink in a rental unit I have and he was fast and his fee was reasonable.
