I have visited this location several times and have always had a good experience. They have lots of stuff you can just buy and don't have to order ahead. You can even get lunch here. Recently, I got a cake for my daughter's birthday. I got a small red velvet cake with is actually quite big. It is a high round cake so you don't need huge slices. There was lots extra after 4 of us ate it. The cake itself was beautiful. I was very pleased. While I was in there I also bought a beautiful loaf of challah bread. I didn't even need it but it was too pretty to resist. I have a French toast recipe that I love to make with challah bread so I'm happy to know where to go and get one in the future. Staff are very nice. The interior is nice with tables where you can sit and they even sell some cute things like mugs, etc.

The cake with his name on it! Thanks!

I ordered a birthday cake and birthday cookie online The online process was easy! Came to the store to,pick up bitch items and had the best service! The clerk boxed the both up, taped th boxes and gave me a bag to carry them in Perfect experience! Today was both birthday parties and everyone loved the cake and cookie! They both were great. Very tasty! Highly recommend!

For my mom's 60th birthday, we gifted her the most perfect cake from Edgar's! In addition to the beautiful, heart-shaped, intricate design, it was made with red velvet cake -- her favorite! It was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. Customer service was also 5 stars!! Always love Edgar's cakes :)

My husband and I decided to pick up some breakfast here on yesterday. It was our 12 year anniversary and neither of us was interested in cooking. We got there early so there weren't many people there. The employees were nice and ordering was fast and easy. Our food was ready relatively quickly. My husband had a mishap with his food, but it was rectified right away. My food could have used more seasoning, but overall, it was a nice meal.

When we moved to Hoover, I began looking online to see if I could find a gourmet bakery. There simply isn't one in the area and may not be one in Birmingham either. Edgars was the closest thing that I sought to gourmet pastries. We went and did not enjoy the visit. The store was clean, and all of the baked goods looked beautiful. But the service was lackluster and the, flavors were very disappointing. We gave them another shot two months later. And are even more disappointed the second time. One of the Pacers was delicious and excellent. It was the cinnamon roll with nuts. The other pastry was beautiful, but completely devoid of flavor. we also bought a coffee which is actually serve yourself they give you a cup, and do you go to the coffee station and press the canister. There were three choices, and all were almost empty and you managed to get a half cup from one of them, but it was cold And obviously left over from the day before. Now it was about 9 o'clock in the morning so all of today's breakfast Rush had to do without coffee. Also, the tables had condiments provided but the salt, peppers, and Tabasco sauces were either completely empty, or almost empty, and looking around the dining and serving areas. There were a number of other deficiencies that I noticed, when I gave a closer inspection. I'm giving two stars, so you will know that I am not a reviewer that nails people with one star because of a slight hiccup. The place deserves about one star so I'm being generous.

Tried the Hoover location and ordered the chicken salad croissant but it was not good. Dry and gristle. Croissant was stale.

All of the food here is good, but especially the fresh squeezed orange juice, the bacon, the biscuits, and the jellies, jams, and sauces. You can't go wrong with anything at this place. It is just consistent and trustworthy every single time I go there. The last three times I have been to this location, the service and the staff, from the hostess to the bartender to the server at my table to the manager coming by to check on us, were all incredible. Pro tip...I can't remember the name of it, but that homemade jalapeño hot sauce is divine. It goes good on almost anything savory, especially egg dishes and biscuits. I'm sure I will be back soon!

We had to flag down and ask our server if we could order because she was busy talking. Our server climbed into the booth and sat down to take our order. I doubt she thought anything about it but we were on our way to an oncologist so we try to stay away from close contact with people. The food was amazing! The biscuits were salty which added a lot of flavor to the overall meal. I think they were excellent. It was like a plate of comfort food. The bathrooms were clean. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend the food to anyone.

Bar was nice with 4 large TV's and nice beer and liquor selection. We opted to do the $15 flight. You get 4-1oz pours of select whiskeys. The bowman port barrel was my favorite (smooth and with good taste). The least favorite was knob creek 12 year. Was not near as smooth for a 12 year whiskey (surprised). It will out some hair on your chest! Pretzels were my favorite appetizer. It was hot and salty! Pretzels were served with beer cheese in a cast iron dish (love). The pretzels were soft and buttery. No complaints. I will knock them for this dip trio though. That salsa tasted canned from the store and not a fan of the buffalo chicken dip. Queso dip and tortilla chips were great though! After being seated in the bar area, we were informed by our server that only appetizers were available. This was both confusing and disappointing, as it does not align with reasonable expectations for a restaurant still open for regular business. If the kitchen is no longer able or willing to prepare full menu items well before closing, that policy should be clearly communicated--either through adjusted hours or by informing guests upon arrival. Otherwise, it creates the impression of inconsistent operations or a lack of coordination between management and staff. Situations like this suggest a need for clearer operational standards, better communication, and stronger staff alignment with customer service expectations. Guests should not feel discouraged from dining simply because they arrive within what should be standard service hours. Overall, the experience reflects an opportunity for improvement in both management practices and customer hospitality.

One place came up, and at first, we weren't sure if it was open, but we walked in and immediately felt good vibes. No TVs, just hip R&B and Funk music, with a beautiful L-shaped bar and friendly bartenders Chloe and Ian. The menu is minimal, offering tapas and small plates, but that's because everything is made in-house and is especially good. We started with a House cocktail, the Pear & Proper, which is magnificent. Then we ordered the Wedge salad, and it was divine. After that, we shared the Red Wine Braised Short Rib, which melts in your mouth--their signature dish. We finished with an espresso Martini and some great Calamari. This has become our new FAVORITE. Must try!!!

My drink was tasty, it was their version of a lemon drop. My friend got the whiskey sour and she was upset at the size... it was pretty tiny. My entrees was very delicious but it came out lukewarm. Beef and potatoes should be served stemming hot. Also the portion of the mashed potatoes could have been a bit more generous. The burger girls were ok with their choice, no frill there. This spot has an extremely limited food menu, so it's not a place I'd frequent but it's definitely worth a future return!
