This is a very homey bbq spot , the interior of the restaurant is phenomenal. The owner was very welcoming and the overall ambiance made us Californians feel very welcome. The chopped beef was by far my favorite, all the meat was delicious very tender with a good Smokey flavors . My boyfriend really liked the potato salad , you could tell it was homemade , I was bummed they were out of coleslaw:/ Overall great place to stop when visiting Lubbock ! Thanks Eddie for a great lunch spot !

Delicious BBQ! Spotlessly clean! Very friendly! Once you are inside you will find it is a lot bigger than it looks. The walls are covered with interesting collectibles of all kinds. There is even a dance floor. Make sure you use the directions from Yelp to find it. This is definitely BBQ done right and not to be missed.

Frito Pie & Jalapeño Sausage - I live in Fort Worth but I never miss Eddie's BBQ when I'm in town. The Frito Pie is my hands down favorite thing on the menu and I tried the sausage this time as well, It was spicy and so delicious. The staff is so friendly and Eddie comes out to check on everyone, which I thought was so cool. 10/10 would recommend!!

My sliced beef plate. It was great.

My girlfriends co worker is dating the owner Eddie. She had been there before and said it was great. We went by and I got the sliced beef plate and she got brisket frito pie. During the order she mentioned to Eddie that she worked with his girlfriend. This nice guy gave us our food in the house. The meat was great and had a nice smoke ring. The potato salad was awesome! I could have ate 3 servings. I recommend this place anytime. The decor is great and the food and service were awesome. Check it out when you can.

One meat plate with sliced beef.

Came for lunch on a Tuesday. Food is tasty and service is fast. I had brisket, beans and potato salad. My husband had the Frito Pie that includes sausage and beef. He definitely recommends.

We're from outta state and wanted real Texan BBQ and a local place. Eddie's was perfect. No tourists except for us and everything was great. Met Eddie and his staff, they were just what you hoped for, friendly and welcoming. The decor is cool and the food great. The potato salad was the biggest success according to the family.

The brisket was incredible and had the best bark! We went on George Strait Saturday at lunchtime…read more The manager said she had been there 13 years along with another staffer, and neither had seen a line like we experienced on Saturday. The wait was a little crazy and the staff was clearly out of their element with the booming crowd, but at the end of the day, the food spoke for itself! I'm a 9th gen Texan and love my BBQ. This was the sh*t! It was some of the best brisket I've ever had, seriously. Now people will say, "what place has the best BBQ?" My immediate thought is "clearly they've never had BBQ! As there's literally no place on earth with the best BBQ." If you've eaten your fair share then you know that's a trick question. The better question is, "who has the best brisket, or ribs, or nanner puddin, or whatever." Some places are great and others suck, but no one is the best at all of it. They may be above average or even exceptional, but they will still be better at one meat than another. We had brisket, turkey, beef rib, pulled pork, mild sausage and jalepeno, along with some brisket deviled eggs. Dude! If it were Cajun food, you'd have to slap yo mama. Fortunately it's BBQ so we loosen our belt strap and when we can't eat another bite, we grab the biggest spoon we can find and eat some nanner puddin. It was solid. For sides we had potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese and collard greens. Personally, my favorite was the mac n cheese as it was creamy and tasted great, but my friends from Oregon were in TX for the first time and while she had never had collard greens, she couldn't get enough of them and literally went back for thirds. As mentioned, our friends were in from Oregon and had never been to TX not ever had TX BBQ. Shack you did us proud!

The flavor of the meat was great. Sides were ok. Friendly staff. Nice bar. Definitely a place to try.

As I always do I ordered the brisket burnt ends and the original sides of tater salad and coleslaw (as a honest comparison of the TX Top 50). 1lb of brisket that was the superstar of the tray as it should be. Really good flavor and an even smoke that never was offensive "mesquite bite, hickory bitterness" due to really seasoned oak wood presumably post oak. Sides were fine/traditional ACV style slaw to cut the rich brisket, maybe an egg yoke, dill tater salad that was right on the money. Over all a really good bbq representation of Texas smoked beef, not sure I'd rank 10th in the top 50 but glad to taste what others voted on anyway. I will say the condiments "raw jalapeños" and their layout was a really easy and appreciated change from other bbq joints.

The menu was very easy to read, and provided enough variety in order to find exactly what you were looking for without needing to compromise on your appetite. The waitress was very friendly and provided her opinion on local favorites without demeaning other options, always a deal breaker for me when places do that, so she gets special love for her taking care of us that night. Once our meals arrived, it was time to dig in. The food was hot, prepared exactly as expected, and in typical Texas fashion there was more than we could expect to eat in a single sitting. At Chopped and Sliced BBQ, you will never leave hungry. Honorable mention to the fried Okra. I became the star of the night as almost everyone at the table couldn't get enough of it. Also, not sure if it was a regular or one-off, but the night we were dining in there was a man playing traditional Americana folk songs on guitar just inside by the entrance. He provided a nice relaxing atmosphere for the night without being too out or overbearing for my ears. I found myself tipping him on more than one occasion for his contributions to the evening.

Young lady took my order, was super patient, got me samples, told me her favorites and sold me on some pudding. The food was excellent, I had regular sausage, chopped brisket, creamed corn, beans, and chocolate pudding. I can't even begin to explain how delicious this meal was, so good I'm writing this before I even pack up my left overs. It was slow during the time I went so it was mellow and empty but I can imagine this place during lunch/dinner or the weekend gets pretty busy. Absolutely will come back as the service, food, and overall vibe was pleasant and welcoming.

Please pass on this following information to management and cooking staff; I do believe it is important, especially in this economy. Buyers want to get their moneys worth and I feel this is a ripoff. I get really agitated when an establishment sells a loaded baked potato and all they do to the potato itself is slice it down the middle and load the toppings on top of it. It ruins the process of eating the potato in a simple enjoyable fashion as a knife is actually needed to carve out bite size pieces of potato. An unfortunate result of this method is butter etc seeps out of the potato and into your general eating space. I got this order to go and had to mop my kitchen floor from the mess it created before I could actually eat it. Messy BBQ may be niche yall are trying to pitch but I do not think it is cute. The potato was semi hard and quite bland. After around 5-8 bites all I was left with was half of a plain unflavored potato I suggest cooking staff and management ensure their potatoes are properly cooked to the point that the potato feels like a ripe avocado . Kitchen staff should gently yet firmly push down the properly cooked potato to change the texture and create a reservoir to properly hold the toppings. Food gets zero stars, as I mentioned. I will give 2 stars because order was ready fast and the employee expediting to go orders was really nice. A theme of many of my reviews is "do it right or don't do it all". It is my opinion Rudy's should not sell baked potatoes until they overhaul their process.
