Eddies Bar & Grill was. Nice neighborhood joint. I joined them for lunch. Food menu was small and simple. Staff were so nice especially bartender Lee. She was friendly and sweet and made a nice margarita! I also ordered a turkey wrap with fries which were good. Also had a juke box! And of course my Dear friend play Sade. I would rate the food a 1/10. Seemed to be just frozen products that can be bought a grocery store. Also there is only the bathrooms are single for both men and women which make it difficult for them employees and customer. Owners seem to be overbearing on employes. Seems like a stressed out work environment. read more

Went in for lunch. Was served an Eddie's cheddar on a moldy piece of bread. The owner replaced it with a new piece of bread , different kind, not as good. Put the same meat back on the new bread and didn't apologize or discount the bill. We were regular customers. Probably won't be back for awhile. Wonderful locally owned restaurant and bar. Shari and Eddie are awesome hosts, Brian is a great bartender. I have eaten here so many times that it is hard to give a score for one stop. As with anything else, some nights are great, some nights a little below average. That is why I went with a 4 rating. Many more great nights than not. Best item on the menu is the shrimp. You get plenty, with fries and cole slaw, it is wonderful. Once again, great local place with great people. Well worth the time to stop by. read more

I would definitely not recommend this restaurant. The owners are not very nice and based on the sides of the portions of food it's overpriced. We ordered Cod and seafood tonight and everything was not cooked well it was undercooked and seemed to be rushed out of the kitchen. It doesnt seem like a friendly environment with the owners pacing back and forth watching the employees likes "hawks". The employees were nice and I feel like they are under alot of pressure. We had a rare date night, wanted a place we haven't been in a long time. We should of saved our money. On the positive- service was great, the wings are good... Negative- everything else...clean your place (windows, beer signs, shades...), fries tasted like cooked in dirty old oil, tenderloin is on a big bun, tenderloin barley fit the bun and was not freshly made, fish was okay for being oil soaked and over cooked. Food was good as always except don't order their taco salad. It was glorified nachos which was not really what I wanted. But the 4 other people with me had great meals. Eddie's! You totally surprised me. You were great for a nice cheap drink; but I didn't peg you for more than that. There you stand on the edge of town try to look like something you're not. I remember you from the Book-it days. Come on, don't play like you weren't our local Pizza Hut. It's not even like you had a Extreme Makeover... your roots are showing. I've frequented you several times when I'm in town and I've always been please when the bill comes. I can pick up drinks for the whole table and still pay less than my own bar tab here in Chicago. This is one of the best bar and grills in West Kankakee. The menu while small, is nothing less than satisfactory! I have tried something from nearly every category and I can not say anything has not been cooked to perfection. The wait staff is phenomenal, and I have been in and out very quickly with the outstanding service they provide. Whether you are passing through town or live in the area Eddies is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat without having to suffer through fast food. Next time you are passing by around meal time make sure to give these guys a shot great food and atmosphere! Lunch stop on a long road trip. Food was OK, but not memorable. This is standard bar food... fried and with a few salads to balance things out. Acoustics in the place are annoying even when the place is 3/4 empty.
