Don't do it, especially don't pay for an exclusion service. We have been with them for 3 years and while most of the the service and treatments are good, not great, they were sufficient. Enter, "The Exclusion Service." We have never had rodents in our house but the technician pointed out reasonable areas where they could get in so in an act of being proactive mixed with complete stupidity, I agreed for them to fill in some gaps around my garage door and put a new weather strip at the bottom. Now I have 4 metal straps hastily screwed into my garage door and the weather strip at the bottom allows water to come into my garage. 2 text messages, 2 emails, 7 phone calls and 650$ later,not a single person can/will talk about it with me. I would much rather a mouse get in my garage as opposed to a flood every time is rains. As stated above, if you need someone come and spray outside, they may be your match but if you want any level of honesty, customer service or integrity. There are better options out there. So if you are looking for an exclusion service, exclude them as an option for pest control. read more

Hi, please tell your door to door employees to honor the no soliciting signs on doors. Last weekend someone rang our doorbell AND knocked. They begged my step son for information on the homeowners and harassed him until he told them when the homeowners would be back. Absolutely nothing positive to say. Unable to cancel service when contract expired although I was assured 13 times in 10 months that contract had expired. Customer service is oversees, will not contact you to the local office, will not allow you to speak to a manager and continues to try and sell product while I was calling to cancel. Will go so far as to show and preform service stating they did not know contract was canceled. Then they will bill you for the service stating that you re-entered the contract even though you never ask for the service. Had to threaten legal services, which I would've followed through on, in order to get them to cancel the service. Absolutely horrid company! read more

Proshield Pest now Ecoshield pest? Why the name change? They came to my house and said my neighbor used them. I verified and they were. Nice sales pitch- but when they came to apply in and around the exterior my home which is fairly large 4800 sq' they were done in 15 minutes? I asked about the basement? Window wells? " oh" . Then I read about the extra treatment that I had to pay for. I figured that this was the first application which tends to normally be overkill to make that client happy. And I don't like micromanaging someone that should know the business. I just had a gut feeling and decided to cancel my service within my three day right of rescission. If they knock on your door or call , you have three business days to cancel. It took a couple phone calls, and me stating the law for them to cancel. I did pay for the first service. read more

My husband is dying of terminal cancer. He called to cancel his service because he will only live for a few more months and we will be selling this house and we don't want any chemicals around it. Even after explaining his reason for canceling, the customer service person pushed for him to take a lower price. He explained that he was dying that he wasn't going to live long enough to have any benefit from pest control. A very aggressive, door to door salesman tried to scare my wife into believing "all your neighbors have black widows". Pointed at a cob web in the rocks and said, "that's a black widow web". He was insistent on getting into our garage so she came in to get me. This company has been using deceptive and very aggressive "sales" techniques. Door to door is the method I encountered them with. A large No Soliciting sign on the front door didn't deter them and when I pointed it out he all but ignored me and continued with his pitch. All over town, this is happening as reported on Nextdoor.com. They all have the same sketchy story and many will tell you they just saw a black widow or such and such around your entry. So, so terrible. I rarely write reviews but my experience with EcoShield has been so awful that I felt like it was my moral responsibility to help other people avoid falling into the same trap that I did. As with a lot of other reviews, I found the sales to be super pushy. But if it actually worked, that would be forgivable. They said things can get worse before they get better following the first treatment. They sure did! About a day after or first treatment we immediately started finding mouse droppings all over the interior of our house. Never something we'd encountered before and really unnerving with Hanta Virus being a thing. Even after follow up treatments, we saw no improvements. Yellowjackets, etc all over the place in the summer. Finally I called to cancel and, regrettably, I agreed to keep the service when they said they'd drop my quarterly payment from over $200 to $120. They also reiterated their "satisfaction guarantee" and said my next service would be free. This was something that I confirmed verbally with the technician before he started it when he showed up. Spoiler alert, I got an email saying $120 was deducted from my account as soon as he left. I called for a refund and they said that only touch-ups are free and this was a "quarterly service" so it could not be refunded. TLDNR: Liars, makes things worse as opposed to better. You'd be better off setting your money on fire and hoping the smoke keeps bugs away. read more

EcoShield (door salesman) offered a 2 cycle service. As he put it, I thought I would help a local business. Once the 2 cycles were complete I received notice of a 3rd appointment at which point I canceled. They then billed me an additional $150 because of the cancelation indicating that I broke a contract. In an attempt to make it right they offered me a discounted rate to continue the service as a means to avoid the charge. I agreed however, they called me back indicating that their management team no longer agreed. At this stage they have threatened to collect through a third party. In retrospect this is my fault for not insisting on reviewing a contract up front and not thoroughly reviewing the web of emails/documentation sent to me. I acknowledge the business response below. Awful company set on deceiving you at every step of the way. The agent who pitched the services to me explicitly told me the signup would include a comprehensive treatment in and around the house for all possible pest control issues, including the cockroaches. Before signing the agreement I explicitly asked him if the cancellation was free of any obligations and he confirmed that despite 12-months contract I was free to cancel at any time with no obligations. I just had to call the office and inform them about my decision. The deal sounded very good and I immediately signed up and received the first treatment on the same day. Several days after I went through the emails and read the Ecoshield contract and was surprised to discover that the cancellation involved the fee of $200 dollars. I tried to call, but the lines were busy, so I waited until the next service and immediately informed the person about the situation. He called the office on my behalf and reported the issue. He also urged me to call the agent. I left the voicemail on agent's phone, but he never bothered to call me back. I reported the issue to the office over the phone several times and I kept asking every serviceman after that to report this issue and request a competent person to call me back. No one ever did over the course of next six months. Meanwhile, I discovered the cockroach infestation in my house and alerted the Ecoshield. Turned out, their "comprehensive care" service did not include the German roaches. I had no idea what the difference between regular roaches and German roaches were, but when the person pitched the service to me and I asked about cockroaches, he promised that their treatment was also included with the service. I ended up paying $300 more for that lie. I eventually cancelled the service and informed the company that I would not be paying the cancellation fee, since the agent clearly lied to me about it, but they have been nagging me ever since and threatening to involve third-party collectors. Stay away from these crooks if you don't want to have the same experience as I did. P.S. Their service is just as poor as their honesty. Their people would spend no more then 3 minutes around my house. They were always keen on leaving as soon as possible. Who knows if they even sprayed anything worthwhile. He chatted me up like all door to door kids do(please stop training people to be so fake), and never said his name or what company. The salesman who sold me on the yearly contract was a great salesman. However the service provided was not what he sold us on- my husband was really concerned about wasps nests, and the service provider left a nest because it was "too high" after the salesman assured that they could handle any nests on the house. After the first service was done, our second service got pushed off more than 6 weeks. The first reschedule was on us, as new landscaping was put in, but after that we would get scheduled and rescheduled, sometimes with little to no warning. The second service never happened (one that was "super important" according to the company. Any time I have spoken to the local office, they are amazing. They know who I am and my property and what services if have. And if you have any flowers at all, you cannot go wrong with the Japanese beetle service. I used to hang the bags and have thousands of those jerks. Two years later and I have almost none while my neighbors are swimming in them. The technicians are so nice. Yes, I got mine from a door to door salesman and I was super wary.
