We hired them for a partial bathroom remodel- replacing the tub, shower surround and tiling the floor. Initially we were told the job would take 4-6 days but it was about a month from start to completion. They did discover more water damage than we had anticipated but our main issue was with the quality of work. Grout lines were messy, cuts were off, tile was laid incorrectly. They did redo most of the sloppy work at our insistence but I'm concerned that the work behind the walls and under the floor boards is as messy as what we see on the surface. In good faith I could not recommend this company.

This was a multi-month project but the teams were there consistently (no multi-day gaps waiting on contractors) and did the work quickly and with high quality. Towards the end of the job, we had a couple of issues that we wanted changed/corrected and Carlos was on top of it and quickly brought the guys out to make changes per our request. In the middle of the project we decided to sell the house so we also used them to install a new kitchen floor, stain our front door and a variety of other random pre-selling work that they did quickly and well also. I would use them again!

Had a structural engineer tell me they didn't put a header on. If I hadn't gotten that inspection there could have been serious structural issues in the future. As a result of that inspection I had to undo some of the window casing they put on, which I specifically asked them not to do. The casing was cheap plastic material that they glued on. I had to cut it off with a Dremel. Lastly the wall of the lightwell they put in is already cracking after less than 2 years. I wouldn't trust these guys to fix it even if they offered to.

Called Door Works, made an appointment with a short lead time, and they sent their tech, Elliot out to help us. Elliot was great, he knew exactly what to do to fix the issues, as well as suggested some other preventative items such as moving the door bumpers off the top hinge. He also noticed our original builder had used wimpy little screws, and replaced them with the proper length. Even sprayed that silicone stuff on a couple of squeaky doors. We're super-happy with the results! The work was first-rate, our issues were solved, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

The tech, Elliot I think, was professional, super knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. They are far out on appointments, but maybe that's a credit to them. For our second window, we had a couple minor miscommunications around dates and the locations of the window itself, but everyone involved was kind, professional, and talented. I'm glad we still went with PBE! Benjamin was super communicative and willing to come to our home in NE Portland multiple times to make sure he got the right measurements. He's very personable and I felt comfortable with him. I wanted to save money by digging the hole myself, and Ben was willing to let me do that and didn't condescend to me as another contractor did. It turned out there were huge boulders in our dirt so I had to give up. The boulders added extra cost because it took hours to remove them, but Benjamin worked hard to keep our extra costs low. The window is beautiful and has transformed our basement.
