BEWARE: Filthy run-down room with dirty sheets and covers covered in cigarette burns

BEWARE: Filthy run-down room with dirty sheets and covers covered in cigarette burns, grimey bathrooms, fixtures broken/falling off walls.

Started off on the wrong foot when the desk attendant was asking for an identification card (any ID cards for service dogs aren't regulated or necessary from the ADA) for service dog that was up to ADA standards for my mobility issues. I was able to finally bring him in, but whatever. It was an inconvenience. The room itself was fairly clean, but obviously out dated and falling apart. There was also a musky urine smell. Best of all, I turned on the light to find a cockroach in the bathroom. $65 for a Wednesday night in the middle of nowhere seems a bit overpriced for a dilapidated room with roaches.

Black hair that was found all over my room on arrival when I'm blonde!

Not only was this place disgusting but the service was appalling! When I checked into my room I was never told a check out time so I assumed it was at 12 like every other hotel I've stayed at. At 10am they began to beat on my door. They then told me check out was at 11am mind you this was the cleaning lady. She was the only nice person there. When asked if I could pay for an extra night since I wasn't aware of the check out time they said no, I then asked if someone else was check in my room they said no, so it didn't make sense why I couldn't pay for another night. The manager then yells at me and tells me my card was declined I simply asks if she would run it again and she refused. Knowing that there was nothing wrong with my debt card I had to fight to get another staff member to run it and of course we ran properly it was approved like I knew it would be in the first place. As for the room it self there was giant pieces of black hair all over the shower and I'm a bright blonde, there was hair all over the floor along with stained crusty sheets. I get the place was cheap but as a travel solider I've never been so disrespected by a hotel staff before and have never had this kind of experience at any other econo. New management is needed here badly.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quick check in, the cleanliness of the hotel lobby area and my room. The fitness room was small but well equipped so I could get a good workout in after a day of driving. I had a quiet room that overlooked fields in the back. I felt safe and comfortable and I got a decent nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was decent too. The only drawback for this hotel is that if you want dinner, you're going to have to drive a bit down into Montpelier or Bryan as the options directly around the hotel are limited. I was not inclined to go out again, so I ended up eating the snacks I brought for dinner.

This area doesn't have a lot of hotels but there's a Quality Inn, a motel, and this hotel all within a block or two. I have the IHG credit card so I chose this hotel. I booked a room with 2 queen beds since it was cheaper than 1 king; upon check-in, I asked if they had any kings, hoping maybe I would get a free upgrade since I have silver status with them, but unfortunately they said a room with a king bed would be $30 more, so I kept my original room. Pros: -spacious room, and the bed was comfortable -only three floors and you're never far from the elevator -has both a minifridge and a microwave. The minifridge was rather tall actually and when I tried to open the fridge it kept moving a little bit -free breakfast and some of the reviews on here were complaining about it, whereas others called it a continental breakfast. It was a typical of IHG breakfasts I have experienced lately and it actually had quite a lot of hot options too -The Wi-Fi was fast and mostly reliable, however it would not work for my Nintendo Switch. I had no issues for my iPad and phones though. Cons: -rooms are definitely a bit dated. However, my room was very clean. -No restaurant on site but that is typical of Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have stayed at. There's a restaurant attached to Quality Inn called JJ Winns that I did takeout from, which was good. -The minifridge was actually too cold; I put a bottle of water in the side door so I would have it for pills for the morning and it was actually mostly ice in the morning unfortunately. I'm sure this can be adjusted but I didn't think to do so. Overall I would stay here again, it was an adequate stay and the price wasn't too bad either (about $122 for the night, before taxes, comparable to the other hotels in the area).

Get up early for their yummy breakfast! They've been so accommodating. Even more so than the 4 star hotel across the road. They have round the clock house keeping. The "maids" are very nice and accommodating. They do not drive you crazy with cleaning your room during your stay unless you request it. AC works great in the rooms. They've updated the rooms/bathrooms. The restaurant food here is amazing! The people who work here work really hard! Quiet for the most part. This is an event location but there were no event noise issues while we were here for our 2 week stay in July. Great meeting spaces! Nice gym and new equipment New beautiful bathrooms in atrium! The bad Some of this is being nit picky so take it with a grain of salt. Someone got a bunch of ice super early in the morning a couple of days in a row, maybe for the restaurant? I don't know. The doors are pretty thin so you hear everything. There were a couple of female maids that were a little noisy in the hallways between talking loudly and having the music on their phones blasting in the hall while cleaning. Only happened a couple of times during our stay and not during sleep hours. The restaurant floors can be super slick. The hotel rooms/bathrooms are updated but they still need some cosmetic work. SLICK bathroom floor! There is serious need for repair in the pool room and Sheetrock throughout the hotel. Humidity is pretty high but no appearance or smell of mold that I have seen. The rooms on the inside have the typical floor split units that blow into the large atrium room (not outside) so I'm concerned that this is partly what's causing the humidity in the hotel. I think there's 4 star potential with attention to detail and some investment. I hope to see this place continue to improve!

Mockingly the purple haired clerk gave me a room far away from my coworkers and with now outside window in front of the elevator. I do not appreciate being treated this way. This a rundown place. This is just a warning to others. I don't care or need to hear from anyone at the company.

The room was clean and tidy, no foul or odd smells. The HVAC system had a contstant-on setting, which we like. The room was quiet, and we could not hear neighbors or outside traffic. The shower provided plenty of hot water with no fluctuations. The only ding I have is the ice machine; we stayed on the second floor, and the ice machine is located on the first floor. Not a huge deal, but keep that in mind. We did not use the pool, and we technically didn't get downstairs in time for breakfast. (Although, we got downstairs just after breakfast ended, and there was still plenty of food available.) We'd have no trouble spending another night here again, anytime!

My friend and I were traveling on motorcycles though and needed somewhere to rest on our way back to NY where we live. Not good.

But if you want a quaint Motel, that is clean and where the owner treats you as a friend (the morning guy, not so much), and has overall comfort, then this is the place to lay your head. My room sports a full size bed, recliner, 42 inch flat screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge. While the fridge sits on the floor oh, and the microwave on top, it works well. And that is my main concern. Also, their is Wi-Fi is secured! Woohoo! So far, it's working well for me. A really nice room, at a fantastic price. We will see what the morning brings. I have gotten in the habit of wearing my socks, until I'm ready to get cleaned up. So this morning, when I took my socks off, the carpet was slightly damp. I don't know if this was from a recent cleaning, or due to all the rain and 100% humidity they've been having. When I asked the morning Clerk, his reply was "yeah". Nothing else. Though, when I checked out, he did say, have a nice day. Like the motel, the breakfast is an old fashioned continental breakfast of donuts, and frozen waffles (since I had waffles yesterday I didn't want waffles again today). So, I decided to eat breakfast on the road (I had to wait for 60 miles before something finally showed up that wasn't a big chain joint). So, with the damp carpet and the clerk's attitude, I had to downgrade to 3 Stars. But the lady in housekeeping wrote a very lengthy note to her guests, which was a pleasant surprise.

I'm comfortable here and they offer the amenities of the chains, micro fridge, microwave, clean room, all is good. For those who work out, you can purchase a day pass to the local YMCA, book says $4.00. Not a bad deal. They have a breakfast in the mornings and it's simple but sufficient. It does bring back the old times of a family vacation. Plenty of TV Channels to choose from and close to downtown where some good restaurants are located. All in all good location! Well one more time, I love the recliner. I'm so well rested now.

Unfortunately, the rest of our stay didn't improve. The room was uncomfortable both nights. The first night it was freezing cold, and the second night it was warm and muggy. Neither my sister nor I slept well. The bathroom had several maintenance issues. The light switch cover was sitting on the sink instead of attached to the wall, leaving the electrical switch exposed. The bathtub had mold or some other buildup on the bottom that neither of us wanted to stand on, so we both skipped showering during our stay. The toilet also required holding the handle down every single time it was flushed. Breakfast was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've experienced. The eggs and sausage looked like they had been sitting out for hours and were dried beyond recognition. Honestly, it would be better not to offer breakfast at all than to serve food of that quality. Overall, this stay was disappointing from beginning to end. Between the misleading advertising, uncomfortable room, maintenance issues, poor cleanliness, and terrible breakfast, I would not stay here again.

I therefore stayed here again from Jan 10 2020 for over a month while waiting to first get possession of the home I bought and during the time my floors were getting redone. Stayed in a suite, with two queen beds and a living rook that had a fold out sofa bed. Hard living with two other people in such a small enclosed space. The hotel does offer suites with kitchen, alas they are few and hard to come by. I spent the time in one without one and had to eat out all the time. My stats were pleasant, considering all the above. The hotel breakfast room is large and comfortable. The hotel has an indoor heated pool which is a big plus! The staff also is the friendliest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. I would talk to them all the time. We would ask how we were all doing, where we were in our move. These are genuinely warm people and the best part of staying at this hotel. There are some weaknesses. The breakfast is unappetizing, and I usually avoided it.. even though it was included in my stay. It didn't taste bad... just didn't have taste... it was bland. The coffee is weak. The suites can also definitely be a little larger and they need updating. Some of the furniture seems to have seen much better days.
