I checked in for a 9 day stay and found the staff to be quite friendly. My room was appointed well and the A/C and refrigerator worked appropriately. My first morning I was up and at the breakfast around 6:30 am with a smile on my face and a glowing outlook to the day only to find Turkey Sausage for breakfast and no Bacon. But it's only one day, certainly there would be bacon tomorrow. As I arrived to the breakfast area on day two I again found myself disappointed to once again realize that there is no bacon and only undercooked biscuits and gravy. Day three, day four again no bacon. My world was beginning to sink. Day five has now arrived and today I have decided to ask the kind lady working in the breakfast area "do you guys ever serve bacon?" She replied, "it's too expensive hunny". So while other hotels around the United States can afford to buy bacon for their guest, the cost of running a hotel in Defiance Ohio is so great that serving bacon to their guest will cause the accounting department to go into the red and possibly fold the business. I stayed nine days in total and never did I see any of the best part of the pig in the breakfast area. I decided to make another reservation for the hotel and not cancel it so that they can keep my $140 deposit to put towards a bacon expense fund so that Americans in the future can be supplied with the meat that they are really desiring for breakfast. I'm not prejudice against turkey sausage as I am sure it has its place in society, possibly at a vegan crossover convention. I am certain that these following seven words have never been spoken in the history of the world "I am dying for some turkey sausage". Also I would like to add that for four consecutive days there was no soap left in my room as well as on four other days I did not even get room service. As we review the previous statement by the sweet breakfast lady "it's too expensive hunny". read more
