I know this isn't a high end hotel but I don't understand why the AC keeps smelling like mildew. Moved once already. Don't want to move another time. Carpet is kind of scary looking. Don't know when the last time it was properly cleaned. The first room we were in one of the top sheets was ripped. The second room had a pillow with stained cover and the toilet cover had a hole in it. Very strange that they didn't bother to change it since it's so obvious. Very stingy with towels. We have 4 people in the room and they keep leaving only 3 big towels. Not sure what the reason is. The breakfast is standard. Although the mini waffle maker is very neat. Eggs sometimes get replenished sometimes not. There's one set of laundry machines cost $2 each in quarters. We booked here because of the review for Hampton inn across the street is terrifying (bed bugs). However I can't recommend this hotel. Not sure any other hotels in the area is any better. Maybe we should stay a bit further out next time. read more

NO DOGS!! When was the last time you had an opportunity to spend a night in a hotel room that had not been used to board dogs? When was the last time you were offered a choice regarding whether or not you wished to stay in a room that had been used to board dogs? THANK YOU, Best Western, for putting the interest of human guests above animals. Even the Ritz Carlton has succumbed to boarding dogs in rooms and allowing them on lobby furniture. The hotel is clean and fresh. The internet service is excellent. The continental breakfast is better than most other places we've been, including higher-priced places in the vicinity. On top of that, the staff is as friendly and helpful as you could hope for. If you are in the area and you have a choice, you can make no better choice than the Best Western. THANKS!! read more

My boyfriend and I were only really here for about 10 hours, but those 10 hours were glorious. For $90 we got a large room with a HUGE bathroom, microwave and refrigerator, a very nice TV, and one of the comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept on. I mean, it was like a cloud. Our room also had great lighting which is very important to a woman. If you need to throw on some make-up, you want to be able to see what you're doing. Unless you're comfortable walking out looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey show. That may only be funny if you're from Cleveland... The complimentary breakfast in the morning was great! Nothing too fancy and there was a nice selection. Plenty of pastries, eggs, waffles, ham...they even had gluten free breakfast bars which was surprising. Overall, it was a wonderful night. read more

Overnight stop during a cross country drive after 10+ hours of driving. Pool was NOT heated as mentioned in the hotel description and no hot tub so no options to get relief from a long stretch in the car. Rooms were good, beds comfortable, bathroom in working order but the water pressure in the shower was pitiful. Breakfast was the standard "hot breakfast" available at most hotels these days. Buffet style with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffle maker, pastries/muffins, cereal, milk, juice, and coffee. Yogurt was NOT pre-packaged but scooped into plastic cups so we skipped that. If I can't see the expiration date, I can't know how fresh it is. Hotel is 30 seconds off the highway so easy off/easy on. We had prepaid so check-in and check-out were very quick. There isn't much right around the hotel, but there's a town about 5 minutes north that has everything you might be needing - retailers, restaurants, or even bowling. Overall, not bad for a quick, overnight stop. Probably wouldn't stay here for more than a night though. read more

Loved this hotel. Functional, not fashionable but with the important things addressed. Very comfortable beds. Pillows were top notch. Included hot breakfast was impressive with waffles, breakfast burrito fixin's, oatmeal bar, and Nutella packets! Scrambled eggs, sausage, ham were hot and fresh. Primo! This is the place we always stay at when we're in Howe. Friendly staff, clean rooms, free breakfast, reasonable rates.

The name of the place is Best Western Howe Inn. If you need a place to stop along I-80 in Eastern Indiana, this is the place. You could fit four Manhattan hotel guest rooms into the room we had last night, and you'd spend 1/4 as much. Comfortable king size bed, refrigerator and microwave, easy chair with ottoman, sofa in a separate sitting alcove, six (count 'em), six outlets for chargers etc. Clean. Friendly staff, Quiet. Indoor pool. Hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy PLUS the usual pastries, cold cereals and juices is included. And all for less than $90. read more

Room 210 - bad - just don't - trust me - if you don't and take the chance you will be beating yourself up later for not listening to this stranger! I gave two stars as there were no bugs, no mold visible (but a definite musty smell) and the sheets and towels smelled of bleach (so guess they were clean?). Issues from the toilet where you have to hold down the handle for it to work a simple flush will not do the job and you will need to ask for a plunger, to the only one elevator for 3 floors to the crappy renovation, to the awful breakfast. The A/C doesn't work and it being August it was miserable. The bed was sorta soft but soft like it was old not soft as in comfortable. The must have had a renovation in the last few years but it was a half hearted job. New lamp, newish TV, new granite countertop in the bathroom, some fancy pictures/art, new toilets and a new tub insert but it's all very off odd disjointed. They should have spent the money to do each room with a full gut job vs the piece meal on clearance items, it looks awful. It may have the new BW Plus sign outside but it's still the same old BW. We stayed at a few BW Plus new builds on this trip from Md to Id and now back to Md and this place was a real disappointment. Just don't you will kick yourself if you don't take my advice. read more

This hotel is an oasis of quiet and comfort in Howe. We stayed here on our return trip, and were so pleased, after a very bad experience at another establishment nearby. The walls and floors are so thick, and the windows blocked out the motorcycles next door. The beds were plush and very comfortable. The bathroom was large enough to hold two people on a busy morning, and was impeccably clean. The granite and modern fixtures made it feel elegant. The tub was absolutely huge, which made it easy to get in and out without fear of slipping. The extra large fridge and the microwave were in a separate cabinet out of the way. And when was the last time you saw an actual door on a basic hotel closet!? They even have luggage carts and an elevator, which one my age expects but rarely finds anymore at a hotel with this price point. The free breakfast offered everything from cold cereal to fresh waffles. I appreciated the thoughtful touches, like Nutella packets, four types of coffee, and real milk. This is the place to stay, and if I'm passing through again, I'll be staying at BW+. read more

Stayed here on cross-country drive, and was very happy with the accommodations. Clean modern rooms, comfy bed, friendly desk clerks, reasonable price. Great breakfast in the morning, ready at 6am (when I planned to leave). Room had small fridge and microwave. And there's a decent Chinese restaurant right across the parking lot. read more

I stayed here in May 2010. Its right off of 80 East. We were driving from the Midwest to the east-coast. I got the room for 65 bucks on hotels.com and it was worth every penny. It was comfy clean and the service was great. Free wifi, pool, and did I mention helpful staff. We had real hot breakfast too. Waffles, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy, eggs. I have nothing to complain about. I will stay there again on my way back. My room didn't have a fridge so they stored my medication in the office fridge free of charge. At the Marriott in chi-town that cost me an extra $25. read more
