BEWARE -- Serious concerns regarding transmission service and lack of accountability…read more I brought my vehicle to Valvoline for a "transmission fluid service," trusting that the service would be completed properly by trained professionals. Unfortunately, just four months later, my vehicle began having serious issues and was unable to shift into gear. I had to take it to a mechanic as an emergency repair, where I was informed that the transmission fluid service appeared to have either not been performed correctly or not been completed at all. During the inspection, my mechanic found that my vehicle holds approximately 8-9 liters of transmission fluid, but fewer than 4 liters were drained. The fluid that was removed was thick, black, and extremely dirty -- not what I would expect after a recent transmission fluid service. I was also advised that there was a possibility my transmission may have suffered damage due to the condition and level of the fluid. I filed a claim with Valvoline hoping they would investigate the situation and work with me toward a resolution. Unfortunately, I was told that everything was done correctly and that they would not take any further action. The manager, Carlos, stated that he reviewed the service and that the same fluid removed was the fluid that had been put back, explaining that discoloration can be normal due to residue. However, the condition of the fluid and the amount removed raised serious concerns that were not addressed. I also informed them that on the day of service, the team had me wait an extended period because they needed to call and confirm which transmission fluid was required for my vehicle. I have supporting documentation, including receipts, videos showing the condition of the fluid, and my mechanic's findings, but my concerns were dismissed. Valvoline was once a convenient and trusted option for me, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Mistakes can happen, but refusing to acknowledge a customer's concerns or take responsibility when there is evidence supporting their claim is extremely frustrating. I hope Valvoline takes this feedback seriously, reviews their service procedures, and prioritizes proper training and customer care. Customers trust you with their vehicles -- that trust should be earned and protected.

After getting an oil change, my Ford Edge began to make horrible noises and lose power. I immediately returned and the technician added additional oil and said they could not repair the engine. Took it to a mechanic and found they added 10 quarts of oil when 6 is the full amount. This caused $1500 worth of damage. Jiffy Lube denied they caused the damage without any information. The manager was accusatory and rude. Luckily the damage was documented and repaired. Now the bureau of automotive repair can investigate them. Mistakes happen. But poor service and rude attitudes are a choice.

The (assumed) owner, Joe, knows me, my previous cars and previous repairs, from memory, even before he keys up my records from his system. Service is friendly, honest, and reliable. I don't know the crew, as well, but I've seen some of the same faces for a long time. They're serious and dedicated. Other than squealing brakes, one time (that they fixed when I went back), I've had no issues with their work. They're substantially less expensive than dealers. But they're not dirt cheap. This is a good thing as I know they're neither gouging nor cutting corners. There's an air conditioned waiting room in the back. I prefer sitting in one of the outdoor chairs in front. When I arrived, the staff put me into a bay as soon as I drove up. They began checking my systems, lights, filters, tire pressure, etc... They found my reservation through CarAdvise quickly. They made a couple of suggestions for service beyond the oil change, but applied zero pressure for approving them. The service was extraordinarily fast and everybody had the most polished manners I've ever seen at a service location. Everyone was extremely respectful. The manager Roy made sure I didn't have any questions before leaving and we had a genuinely warm and friendly conversation before he sent me on my way.
