    A small metal sign on the hot water heater in my condominium said to call SuperTech for service…read more Won't make THAT mistake again. The phone number works but SuperTech doesn't. When the pilot went out and wouldn't restart, I called SuperTech for service. Whoever answered the phone denied SuperTech had installed the hot water heater and would not make a service appointment. Another HVAC company did not hesitate to make a service appointment. If you're thinking of calling SuperTech for installation or service, based on my experience, you can do much better just by starting with another company. Had to post 1 star for the review to be posted, which is the only reason I even rated SuperTech at all. The small metal sign has been removed.

The $400 Scam for a $5 Part I've been on their $20/month maintenance plan since May 2022. Earlier this year, a technician came for my semi-annual service and attempted an outright scam: The Claim: The tech pulled a small part off my furnace and claimed it was faulty, insisting it had to be replaced immediately. The Price Gouge: He quoted me $400.00 for the replacement part. The Reality Check: I was unemployed at the time, so I took a picture of the part and used an image search. The exact same part costs $5.00 at any hardware store. The Second Opinion: I threw the guy out and called a reputable competitor. They confirmed the part was still good, but they did replace it for me, charging a total of $85 for the visit AND the new part. SuperTech wanted $400 for a repair I didn't even need! This is a textbook scheme to rip people off. Refusal to Cancel and Endless Harassment After that attempt at fraud, I immediately emailed SuperTech to cancel my maintenance plan. Do they honor cancellations? Absolutely not. They have no record of my cancellation. They are now calling me WEEKLY to try and schedule service. When I tell them I canceled, they ask me to send another email. It is absolute madness. The company that tried to steal hundreds of dollars from me is now harassing me to schedule service or spend more time trying to convince them to stop charging me. Do yourself a favor: Spend your money anywhere else. This company lacks integrity and operates by trying to scam its long-time customers.

    What I liked about Elmar first is that there wasn't a sales pitch. Brian came over, did some…read moremeasurements, gave some recommendations and then followed up with multiple quotes to choose from. (Elmar's quotes beat out the other guys, fyi.) Brian was also very responsive to email which was helpful because I did have a few questions before selecting a quote and after installation. We ended up going with Hitachi ductless mini split units. We liked them for the built in Wi-Fi and the slightly lower cost than the Mitsubishi. Onto the install. We were scheduled for the following week after signing the quote. But oops on us -- we were having windows and doors installed by another company and they wanted to come the same week that Elmar was scheduled. I reached out to Brian and Elmar was able to reschedule for the following week, thank goodness, so I appreciated their flexibility. Now onto the actual install. Joe and another guy came out on a Tuesday to start the install. We didn't know exactly what needed to happen, but they were great at letting us know what they would be doing each day. I can't speak to the intricacies of their work specifically since it's not my expertise, but my husband really liked the ductwork they installed outside the house, so that counts for a lot in my book because he would definitely say something if it didn't seem right. Also high marks for Joe and the second guy (i really wish I remembered his name. Sorry!) because they were super friendly to me and my dog hanging around the house while they were here. The units have only been installed a couple of weeks but so far, so good. They run quiet and put out a lot of cool air. I'm excited to have real a/c for the summer and to be able to control them while we're away, through the Wi-Fi app.

    Be aware!!!. They changed $400+ to just REPROGRAM /recet…read more(not installed) termostat.. .did not complete the job. I try to call several times ..newer combe back to finish to connect termostat to humidifier
