We have had the flat part of the ceiling leak EVERY YEAR since they fixed it. We call, they schedule us, someone comes weeks later and they say they "fixed" it but then next time it rains it leaks again. They blamed our vents so we were stupid enough to pay these people to remove the vents because we didn't want to void the warranty by having someone else do it and guess what? Now the roof leaks in DIFFERENT parts. Worse part is that now we're starting to see STAINS on the ceiling from WATER DAMAGE. The last guy said it doesn't affect the integrity of the roof but he found wet spots THROUGHOUT the ceiling 2 weeks AFTER the rain. I have a toddler in here and they want to claim that a ceiling that is still wet after 2 weeks of no rain is safe??? I just HOPE that there is no mold, mildew, it wood rot in between these layers of wet wood! My husband has been calling and they are giving him the run around about scheduling someone to come. I tried calling and when they did call back they called to say they had no updates on when someone could assess the roof further. I have written a review in the past about our issues with the install and the first leaks, it's lost in all the other complaints they have about leaking roofs. If you still are on the fence about using this company you can read all of those and save yourself the trouble we didn't. Avoid them!

The contract clearly says service calls and repairs will be handled at no charge. After Barnes was sold, bought by "LA Solar Group", two of my Enphase inverters failed. The manufacturer provided the replacement part, with the help of "LA solar Group", but the new company "LA Solar Group" refused to cover the labor, even though my contract says otherwise. They told me they would not grant "Barnes Solar, Inc." warranties and labor wasn't included -- which is simply false. A cost of $650.- for the visit. This leaves customers like me stuck with bills for repairs that should be covered for decades. It seems the new company "La Solar Group" took over Barnes's customers but not the warranty obligations. If you bought from Barnes Solar, know that your 25-year warranty may not actually be honored. I'll be possibly filing complaints with the CSLB and considering small claims to enforce my rights. If you happen to have the same issue please contact me. Very disappointing experience and a warning to others considering long-term solar warranties.

I should note that our home is off-grid permanently. it's not a backup for when the power goes out. there is no electric grid in our community. do not do business with Eric Helgeson. Hes a con man, a crook and a thief!
