Solar panels installed, wires/conduit hidden. Water tight NO LEAKS (post HURRICANE Hilary hahaha)
    Jason R.

I've wanted solar for several years. After having several different solar contractors come to our house, going over pamphlets, and promising 'freedom from the grid' we ultimately picked one that we felt best suited our needs. Long story short, that company didn't pan out as they mapped out our roof and were concerned with a shed we had in our backyard. Knowing all of this, I felt like the best option for us was to find a contractor in our area who was familiar with our cities planning department and had knowledge of, not just solar, but construction. I found Eric and his company on yelp, and like all of his introductory clients, he scheduled a consultation with me. I didn't know at the time that we had reached out to Eric that NEM 2.0 was all the rage and people were rushing through solar contractors to get contracted and locked in to NEM 2.0... I didn't even know what NEM meant! But Eric took the time to walk me through ALL of my questions when we initially met - everything from construction fidelity on our property to solar efficiency, to electric bill expectations and learning SCE verbiage... Eric took the time to talk to me. As we met, his phone was ringing off the hook. We met in the afternoon between 4-5 and his phone was going off! I appreciated how much information Eric knew, and there wasn't any pressure to book with his company after the initial consultation. We ultimately booked with Eric as he was quick to respond and very helpful with answering all of our questions. TECHNOLOGY RELATED - All of the info about a solar proposal, panels to be used, and a breakdown of expense for us as homeowners was detailed in a very easy-to-use online portal. I appreciate when companies speak the language of the times and offer convenient, 24-hour access to plans we've discussed over the phone or in person. CONSTRUCTION PROCESS - Once our date was set (we were backed out 2-3 months from our initial date because of the whole NEM 2.0 thing). Eric and his team did as other teams in the past did with us, they mapped out our roof, but one thing that Erics team did differently was process our goals and future needs for solar as well as discuss some of the unique logistic issues for our property (e.g. we have dogs roaming around the backyard, we have various construction projects going on in our backyard, etc.). On the day of construction, Erics team showed up on time and they DID WORK. They were here from about 8am-2pm, and I was blown away at home much they got done. They had a team outside who were setting up the brackets for the solar, and a guy inside the attic running wires/conduit for several hours, and others prepping and handing tools and product to the team on the roof. They finished setting up the solar panels in 2 work days! That was ridiculously faster than I had expected! FOLLOW UP - The job wasn't done when solar was installed. Eric regularly kept me posted with what was going on including when the city inspector would come, and when his workers would come to meet the inspector. After everything was cleared, I reached out to Eric several times for follow up, and even as some companies in my past experience would leave me on 'read' after the job was done and payment was complete... Eric didn't treat us that way. He continued to process my questions (I have a lot!! Probably more than most people) and didn't give me any kind of inclination that I was bothersome. After having some bogus contractors in the past for various projects in our home... I really appreciate Eric's patience in dealing with us and providing us such an excellent service and product! If any of my friends talk about solar, I'm quick to herald what an amazing experience I had with NexGen construction! This was the least stressful, most informative, and cordial team we've worked with on this homeowning journey. If you have any specific questions for me about my experience as it may pertain to you... I'd be happy to field them!

Contemplating the installation of new solar panels can feel somewhat daunting. Putting in a new roof can also feel the same. We were looking to install BOTH new solar panels along with a much needed new roof, back to back. We hoped to find a roofing and a solar company who could work together and coordinate on the placement of the solar panels to minimize cutting into the new roof. We knew Eric H. had previously and successfully worked with a separate roofing company (ec-roofing) on other projects. When Eric came over, he was very informative, thorough and patient in his presentation. He really took the time to explain the vast details regarding solar and we appreciated his straightforward calmness. We also drove by other homes with solar panels that Nexgen Construction had installed and liked what we saw. During the entire process, we felt very comfortable. Eric and his crew were wonderful.  He promptly answered any questions we had and was extremely responsive. His crew was always courteous and professional, too.  Even after the install was complete and we were all set up with the electric company, Eric came over and showed us how to access our information to track our production and usage. Shortly after, we received a reach out from Nexgen to ask how everything was going. Such incredible follow up. Several of our neighbors have already approached us remarking on how good both the new roof and solar panels look. They've asked us for their contact information which we happily provided.   Our solar panels are Solaria. Sleek looking. No grid lines. Both Nexgen Construction and the other roofing company worked so well together that we posted a recommendation for that company as well, in a separate review.

My journey to get Solar has been long. I got quotes from 6 of the top rated companies on Yelp and met with them all in person. From the first point of contact with Eric from NexGen I knew that they would be doing my solar so long as the price was not ridiculous. Long story short it was not and I went with them. Eric spent a lot of time via phone calls, text, and emails answering my questions and going over several options for system size and type of equipment. Eric and his team are extremely knowledgeable about all things solar and are a pleasure to work with. I went with an 8.39 kW system with 23 REC365AA black panels, Enphase IQ7PLUS Inverter. The installation was smooth and fast and from time the project started till the time i got my permit to operate was 5 days!!! I have now had the system for about 2 months and could not be happier with the results. The estimated solar output was spot on if not a little over. If you are looking for a honest, reliable, great solar team look not further!!!

We had new construction and solar was required. I contacted Infinity Solar and they walked us through each step of the process, and they were very patient and understanding through our numerous construction delays. I was connected with Nick who was great! Most solar companies only wanted to consult over the phone but Nick was more than happy to come meet with us. He looked at our construction and walked us through the next steps, explained who would handle what portion of the installation. Nick coming out and answering our questions made us feel more comfortable about the process. Sara was also great! She checked in on us periodically to see where we were in the construction process. She understood our delays and never made us feel pressured or rushed. They handled the permit process, kept us apprised of when it was approved and when our equipment was received. Infinity does their own installation which was a huge plus. I heard many stories of solar companies contracting out and not having the work pass inspection and the nightmare to get it corrected through the solar company because they did not do the install. Ivan and his crew came out to install. Ivan was patient, explained what they were going to do and what options we had for placement of the equipment. He was very knowledgeable and professional along with his team. They completed the install in a day. If you are looking for solar and want the process to be stress free and feel confident the work will be done right, I highly recommend Infinity Solar!

Absolutely First-Rate from Start to Finish When the fires…read morehit Southern California and we lost power for two weeks, something changed for me. I remember standing outside one night listening to my neighbor's generator roar to life again. It sounded like a chainsaw tearing through the quiet. Across the street, friends with solar and batteries had their lights on. Their kids were inside watching TV. Life looked normal. Meanwhile, I was packing up my family to leave our home. Rising electricity rates, AI data centers consuming massive amounts of power, and talk of double digit rate increases made going solar the right thing to do. I researched heavily. Built a spreadsheet. Interviewed over a dozen companies. Got bids through Energy Sage, cold called installers, and asked around for referrals. I wasn't looking for a sales pitch. I was looking for people I could trust with my home and my family's security. Infinity Solar felt different from the start. I didn't have to deal with brokers or middlemen to jack up prices. They are family owned, in business over 25 years, BBB A+ rated, and 5 stars on Yelp. Tim, the owner is a C10 licensed contractor, sets the tone for the entire company. His pride and commitment to doing things right shows up in every person on his team. Sara, our project manager, kept everything organized with clear, proactive communication. Blake handled the maze of permitting. If you've dealt with solar permitting in California you know what a mess it is. State, county, city, and fire department all with their own rules. Blake stayed on top of all of it so I didn't have to. Joel made sure the job site ran smoothly. The crew deserves real recognition: electricians Adrian, Ivan, Salvador, and Christian; roof lead Arni; installers Jose, Gabriel, Kieren, Israel, Erik, and Robert; and Deyvis helping with inspection. They showed up on time, worked hard, kept everything clean, and answered my endless questions without ever making me feel like I was in the way. Construction always has bumps. Permits get revised, inspectors want changes. What mattered was how Infinity handled it. Calmly, professionally, and without disappearing. Tim must be a good boss and take care of his people because this is a crew of highly skilled workers who take real pride in what they do. The day the system went live felt like a turning point. Our first outage was December 23rd while setting up for a Christmas party. Power was out over eight hours. The lights never flickered. I only knew because the app alerted me. Tim included a Solar Insure 30 year warranty covering panels, microinverters, wiring, and roof penetrations, including labor. It's backed by an A+ Superior rated third party insurer and is transferable if I sell my home. An installer's warranty is useless if they go out of business, so this gives real peace of mind. Because I verify everything, I called Solar Insure, Enphase, FranklinWH, and REC directly to confirm Infinity is a Premium or Platinum installer with each. They are. I'll break even in 8 years at current rates, sooner when rates keep climbing, and you know they will. But more than savings, it's peace of mind. When the grid goes down, our house doesn't. Infinity Solar gave our family back a sense of stability. I'm grateful we chose them.

It has been about 8 months since the project was completed so I feel I can write this review fairly…read moreabout my experience. It was pushed to get it in before the credits ended. For the quick summary, there was a mistake in my installation, it was not handled well and the system works well but only after a long struggle. They price match but hard to say if I felt good about the price in the end either. Overall, it is very mediocre. After talking to 4 companies, I decided to go with OC after they honored a price match from a competitor. It was a fairly large system, 15 panels and a Tesla power wall 3 and needed to be added to existing system as my current one was underpowered and required due to new builds in California. Total was about 33k, out the door. It may not have been the cheapest offering but shopping for solar is not my favorite experience and I went with what I felt was at least fair for what I got. I primarily worked with Don from sales and Brooklynn and initially seemed fine and for all intents and purposes, it should have been. I chose to get HOA approval and pay for it myself so it did stall the project through no fault of OC. My HOA requires applications for major projects to be submitted along with a sizable fee, and I chose to do it by the book. I dropped the first major deposit of 10k and the installation was scheduled around July 2025. The next part is where the struggle began. The day of installation, the installers tell me the panels cannot fit in the design that they were given. They asked if I wanted to pivot to another part of roof and just install it then and there. I call OC and they admit the design cannot possibly fit my panels on this small area of my roof and I cancel the project and have them redo the plans and for me to go through HOA again. This leads to a very frustrating back and forth with Don and later Brookylnn's superiors as I no longer heard from her. I had about 10 calls or more trying to clarify what to do next and was met with a lot of resistance about what happened. It turns out the plan was actually the original estimate from Don (sales) and for some reason just pushed through their architectural team without consideration of the size. Don's superior Chandler even spoke with me about this and though I can't recall their explanation for this mistake, they spoke as if this was my issue with wanted to go through HOA and that they had no power to stop the project. If I had written this review after this call, I'd recommend no one work with these people. It felt frustrating and at times demeaning, given that they do this all day and I don't know what I'm talking about. After I got my second approval, OC refunded my fee to the HOA approval, but only after I explicitly asked for it. We eventually moved forward with the project and inspection when fine. My guess is had we not had this irresponsible prelimary design provided by Don go through their "architectural" team it would've been fine and none the wiser. As of this writing, the panels are working as intended and I had such a sour experience, I just moved on. But now Don and company requested a review for their internal systems, so here is it and a Yelp one that they did not ask for. In the end, like most of these experiences, it's not the mistake that upsets me, it's the handling of it. Communication started fading when things got more difficult and the lack of empathy or consideration for some dropping this much money on something they will do maybe 2-3 times in their life is disappointing. Much of the time I asked them and myself, how should I know this plan wouldn't work? Sure the HOA can't legally stop me, but I have to live with them, not OC. Whoever may have gotten this far, thank you for hearing my rant. Odds are you will have a fair experience but the truth is, most of these companies are interchangeable. They are all middle men and their strength and differences lie in the customer service and coordination. I didn't expect but solar buying is probably more similar to going to a car dealership. Do your research, advocate for yourself and don't get your hopes too high and it will probably be fine. As for OC, I think in the end they are just mediocre. They're like anyone else you may talk to. The processes are probably similar and I'm glad the system has worked well, which helps my scoring of this review. Maybe they just got lucky with me at the time, as I was getting fed up talking from one salesperson to the next and they price matched. I'm sure others will and can do the same so whoever you go with, as long as you are on top of it, it will go fine.

This is my second home that I've installed solar at, and as a retired Electrical Engineer (MS EE) I am very particular about how electrical lines / circuits are designed, routed, and installed. I talked to a bunch of PV solar companies here in Orange County / LA County before selecting Evergreen, and I'm sure glad I did. The team did a fabulous job and you cannot go wrong if you care about the *quality* of the install as well as the *aesthetics* of the install. The team was flexible in accommodating how I wanted the batteries installed, how I wanted the layout of the exterior conduit to be routed, and how I wanted the flex conduits in the attic run. At the same time, the team was careful to wire things appropriately to accommodate for future expansion should I choose to do so. On top of that, the team were excellent at coordinating with other contractors doing work at the house at the same time - in particular with the C10 electrician that was replacing my main panel at the same time. The thing is, you can have any company install solar / slap it up the roof / run electrical wire any which way to make it work. It might work, but it won't look good, and often times the wiring is suboptimal for future expansion. You can also go direct (like directly engage Tesla to install PV but .... BUT .... Tesla direct will want things done a certain way with no room for customization on the homeowner's part and will nickel and dime the homeowner to death for installing stuff in the garage or doing a more complete roofing job or or or or.......) For the best results, go with a local installer (like Evergreen) who takes pride in their work.
