Very well made and well seasoned. It didn't particularly blow me away as anything new or outstanding though. It reminded me a lot of a good restaurant in Southern California. I had the pumpkin ravioli, which was a special that night. It was good, but I've had better. I also had their fresh cheese/tomato salad, which again was good, but I've had better. The indoor bar is impressive enough, and I could see a gigantic party taking place with many well-attired bartenders eagerly serving them. Instead we had but one guy who seemingly had a whole range of duties, bartending being but one of them. When he finally acknowledged us, we asked about food, only to learn that wouldn't be available till after three. No sign, of course. I had a beer (my second choice, of course), and the missus an ice tea. There were maybe twenty others hanging out back, and while they were having a good time, it seemed the place just wasn't filling its potential. Perhaps we went at the wrong time. One can hope.

When we moved to Glanmire first the Brook Inn was primarily a pub with a restaurant business. It is now most definitely primarily a restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent, we usually go once a month. Recently they have added an early bird menu which is good value. Well worth a try. We were impressed that they managed to eat a plate of chicken wings as a starter and soup, followed by a full Irish dinner for him, and a large salad for her. They were likely equally impressed that we finished our pizza, garlic bread and most of the pasta, followed by a HUGE piece of chocolate cake and ice cream! The only negative review about this little restaurant was that the bathroom was dirty. We would still recommend, and hopefully that's a non-issue for anyone else.
